Personality : 

Wendy, she's a very hard working girl, especially when it comes to playing and learning songs / music pieces. When she wants to achieve something, with her hard work and perseverance, she'll do anything just to reach it. Dependable, if anyone asks her to do something, she'll do it in no time. Give her any task and it'll be okay for her. She tends to help in doing things like keeping an eye on someone, but if she only knows you and asks for her help, she's willing to do so. Wendy grew up in a strict and proper family, where impoliteness are a big NO. Her dad scolds her for not using proper words when talking, and even when she does or act unladylike. In the end, they managed shaped her to be polite, she always use words respectfully and think/act with proper manners.  She doesn't go out of her house that much, she barely meet other people outside concerts and events. Her teacher would be the one who comes to her home just to practice. She is okay with being alone everytime. During piano concertos or events, Wendy doesn't really converse with other pianists along with the audience. Wendy basically just sticks around with her teacher since she's all shy and awkward meeting people. She'll only smile whenever she gets approached at, and with that her teacher is the one who talks for her everytime.

She's also secretive, she doesn't tell anyone her secrets, or her life. She's clearly scared to trust anyone aside from her admired teacher. With that, her life, her story, it all remains a mystery to lots of people especially the ones who admires her as a pianist. Wendy made her teacher release a fake background for her too just to keep everything a secret. Wendy is a curious girl, curious in a way that she finds her answers personally. She only goes out of her home whenever she wants to know something, like, going to a library to research on a previous event. She tried to come back to her previous house trying to find her a way on how to receive justice for her family since authorities closed the case without further investigations. (will explain later). Awkward, as stated earlier, she doesn't really talk to other people aside from her teacher. She's awkward on meeting other people, she doesn't know how to start a topic, or even answer when they talk to her (she didn't have any friends before and only talked to her family/teacher). She usually bows to them, turns her back and walks away whenever other pianists tries to talk to her. 

Wendy is indecisive, she's always having a hard time deciding. In the end, she usually choose the bad ones. Her teacher would talk her through saying that she shouldn't feel pressured when it comes to deciding and just follows her heart whenever. When she gets pressured because of deciding, she becomes very impulsive, she does things without thinking twice. She could even start doing things without thinking just to reach what she wants to reach, especially justice. Impatient, she isn't really fond of waiting, she wants to receive reports, results, news, etc. fast. Since she feels very anxious about it, she tends to feel depressed when waiting, especially when the report is about her family's case. Despite her being one of the known pianists, she tends to feel insecure about her skill, her confidence is quavering when she's at events and she tends to compare herself to other people. She gets emotional too, when she hears negative comments about her, she holds it in and cries when she gets home. She feels hurt and affected by words or actions easily despite her not talking that much. She only cries when she gets home or when she's had enough of it. She's bad at controlling her emotions too.

Background :    

Wendy Han or Han Hwiyeon, she's born in Osaka, Japan but she's pure Korean. You can say that her family is quite wealthy since her dad works as a CEO of a gaming company (one who creates video games, etc.) while her mother is a known fashion designer. Wendy only has an older brother whom she's close with (their is 5 years). Her family taught her the do's and don'ts, they practically shaped her to become a lady in thoughts, words. and deeds. She didn't like it, not a single much, but she loves her family so she didn't have any choice.

Growing up, Wendy wasn't like the normal kids who plays around the neighborhood, attend schools, hanging out with friends after classes, etc. She's locked up in their house, home schooling. Her father believes that it's too dangerous for her to go out as he keeps getting death threats from his company rivals. She was actually jealous with her brother since he gets to study in a nice school but her, she's inside their house alone with her teacher who was an old woman. As she was home schooling, she got to learn how to play piano too. Piano is her life, it's what she's good at, it's her happiness. Her parents allowed her to come to competitions and perform in concertos too. Everything was going smoothly for her and her family. When she turned 10, her dad's company was doing great in Japan, they moved to South Korea trying to expand the gaming company. 

Wendy didn't mind since she didn't have friends, except from their maid and teachers. They settled down somewhere in Seoul, Korea and still, she is home schooled, not allowed to step outside their gate, constantly having piano practices. That's her routine everyday. But she's playing at the garden too, ALONE. She barely meet her parents, and her dearest brother would always bring home something for her. Whenever her father has visitors, she gets scared since she meets new faces up close and it literally freaks her out. She'll run and lock herself in her room until dinner. Her father always scolds her from doing so and said that it's rude for his guests, Wendy felt bad about it but she really never had a chance to meet other people before so it's normal for her. But one day, when she came home right after a piano competition where she participated, an unfamiliar man came home with her father, she tried not to freak out again. The man looked nice and kind, but there was this thing that Wendy can't point out. She's feeling uneasy around the man. The man was looking back at her with a smile whenever she glances at him. It creeped the hell out of her young soul. Take note, she's just 10 years old that time.

She told her piano teacher and brother about that. (She only trusts her female piano teacher aside from her brother). Wendy's brother asked the piano teacher not to leave her side, especially when her brother and parents aren't home. With that, Wendy thanked her teacher for being there for her most of the time. Days passed and the creepy man who is actually her father's friend kept on visiting their house, having talks with both of her parents. There were days when the man was actually giving her small gifts as he visit. Wendy received candies, chocolates, shoes, etc. Her father was happy for that since he thinks that someone adores his daughter aside from his family. 

One day, she was practicing her piano piece for a concerto in her bedroom since her piano is there, her piano teacher already went home. As she was taking a break from her practice, eating the chocolates she received from the man, she heard shouts from outside her bedroom. It was her father's and mother's voice along their maids, she was about to check what was happening but her brother came inside her bedroom and locked it saying that it's dangerous. The shouts became louder and heard glasses shattering. Then, her brother made her hide in her balcony. She was scared, her brother followed her at the balcony and hugged her. She saw a man holding a gun, it was the same man who gave her chocolates, the CREEPY MAN, the man whom her family trusted very much. Wendy found out that he's actually running for a place in the government and wanted to take her family's possessions (money and bussines) seeing how wealthy they were. And the man planned to earn votes using the sympathy he'll be receiving knowing that his friend's family are murdered. 

He pulled the trigger and killed her brother, she acted like she was dead since she and her brother fell on the floor, her brother covered her completely, she was bleeding too but luckily she was hit by the bullet at her shoulder. The man left without checking and with that, she used her brother's phone to call her piano teacher. They made a plan, Wendy acted that she was unconscious until the paramedics came along with the two-faced creepy man who was crying his eyes out to the reporters. As Wendy arrived at the hospital they treated her wound and faked her death.

Her piano teacher helped her get back on her tracks, Wendy became depressed knowing that her family died along with the maids except her. She was sent to a psychologist to receive help. When she got better, she received her inheritance that her father left, most of her family's possessions (which are not under Wendy's inheritance) are actually owned by the creepy man since her father signed a contract with him thinking that the contract is actually about expanding the business. Wendy wanted to receive justice for her family but she heard that the authorities closed the case after a while.

Wendy started off a new life but was still holding a grudge towards the man who murdered her family and the innocent maids along with the authorities. She and her piano teacher covered up her past, they released a fake background for her. She became known as Wendy the pianist, she actually home schooled until the end too. She was living alone in a new house, her piano teacher visits her everyday since they're practically one block away from each other. She would only leave her house when she's gonna attend concertos, events, visiting the library, going back to their old house, and grocery shopping or even visiting her pastry shop. She just stays at home playing and practicing piano pieces or even baking. 

Wendy, she wanted revenge, she wanted justice, justice for her family and the innocent ones who died too. She was ready to do anything just to take down those wicked people, and especially get back her family's possessions from the man who stole it from them.

– music :: it calms her and she usually listens to music when she's going to sleep or when she's having, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

– noisy places :: since she basically never left home that much from the start, she isn't comfortable in noicy places such as markets, aracades, parties, etc. 
– summer :: it's too hot to handle.
– clingy and spontaneous people :: since she barely has friends or got a chance to talk to people that much, she doesn't really know how to converse properly.
– being late :: she isn't fond of waiting or making people wait.
– going out of her house :: it's tiring her and she's more relaxed indoors.

Hobbies :
– playing piano :: it's her life and she's a pianist so it's part of her routine.

Despite Jihyun being a bit young before, Wendy actually treated her as if she's her older sister. Jihyun was a pianist at a young age, and Wendy learned from her at a young age too. Wendy depends on Jihyun everytime since she's the only person whom she fully trusts. Jihyun helps Wendy manage her shop, and is there to help her learn new piano pieces. Wendy calls her "Jieunnie" Ji + eonnie. Plus, she takes care of Wendy like they're siblings.

Plotline :  The Pianist + [The Detective]

Your take on the plotline :  Wendy grew up playing the piano, joining competitions and playing in concertos too. She wasn't allowed to come out of the house since it's dangerous according to her father. With that, she didn't get a chance to create friends aside from the maids and her teachers. Staying inside her home became her comfort zone, and it makes her happy. Wendy became a known pianist after her family was murdered, they covered up her past to start a new life. Since the murder, Wendy holds a huge grudge towards the government and authorities since they closed their investigation without proper investigation. More probably because the man who murdered her family payed them to close it. 

Wendy wanted justice for the ones who died especially her family, she wanted to retrieve her family's possessions, money and company that the man greedily took away. She wanted revenge too and would do anything just to achieve it. She wants to take back what they own and take down the corrupt government where the man is working at.

Residence : 

Since Wendy got her inheritance, she bought a house recently  somewhere in Seoul. Her house is a modernized one, she doesn't have that much things and has enough space for her and her precious grand piano. She has a nice kitchen, a simple living room, bathroom, one bedroom and another room which she converted it into a room for her piano. 

Occupation/Job : 

Wendy is a full time pianist, but she actually runs a pastry shop which opened when she turned 20 years old. As a pianist, she performs in concertos and events too. When she's free, she visits her shop and see what's going on there. Her piano teacher is taking over the shop as she stays home most of the time. Sometimes, she bakes pastries there too. 

Where do you spend most of your time? : 

When Wendy doesn't have any performances, she usually stays at her home, baking pastries. She's sitting at her living room, sipping her milk, watching movies or watching concertos on her tv. Jihyun, her piano teacher sometimes does her errands, such as grocery shopping whenever Wendy doesn't want to go out. The girl also stays at her piano room playing random pieces that she learned or just messing around with her piano keys. She's a home person that gets tired easily when going out.

 – "I don't really agree with that-... B-because I haven't found justice for my family yet. Uhmm, I guess, with money and power, they'll be manipulated. There's no justice, it's all... an act."
 

Have you ever been involved in something illegal? Whether that be by accident or purposely. Please explain. : 

 – "Illegal? Hmm-- I'm not sure. I guess I haven't, I don't go out or talk to other people more often so I guess I'm still clean... No records yet."
 

If you oppose the system, are you willing to do something about it? : 

 – "I guess so-. Since the man who killed my family is working in the so-called clean government, I'll surely am willing to do something against them. Even if it costs anything."

 – "If I haven't reached my goal, I wouldn't want to die yet even save others risking my life. I haven't had any friends.... that are worth saving so that is my answer. No."

 – "A-ah? c-criminals? I'm not fond of people but, if they... would help me- if we'll help each other to reach our goals, alright. I'm fine with it. I guess I'm doing bad things too like them, so it's okay."

 – "No, I mean... Uhmm, since I haven't done anything that would lead me to talk to those people."

 – "Oh-... Yes, from what I remember. But I guess they wouldn't know... unless we're caught?"

– "I don't know... I haven't met any underground criminals-- but hearing that, I guess they have justifiable reasons on why they did those crimes or acts."

– "I'm feeling shy-- I haven't talked to anyone that much... Plus this is one of my achievements, since I said a lot of things for the first time."
