Just Ranting

This has sorta frustrated me recently, so I'm just gonna get this off my chest. WTF with the double standards!!! Like I am VIP, BigBang is one of my favorite groups (if not my favorite), but I'm also a BLACKJACK. I love TOP and in light of his recent case of drug usage, I would also like to bring Bom's drug scandal into light. I truly believe this is a matter of the male-dominated society in South Korea.

Being a kpop fan for a few years now, I have come to realize that drug usage, including the use of , is a serious crime in Korea. With that said, TOP literally got away with a slap on the wrist. I'm not angry at about that in any way, like I'm happy his sentence is simple probation as is legal and fairly common where I live, but the difference in treatment between TOP and Bom's case bothers me a lot. TOP broke the law and has been prosecuted with probation. That's a fact. He admitted to breaking the law. But what about Bom?

Park Bom's drug scandal wasn't even a case in which the law was broken, but look what netizens said about her!!! WTF is wrong with knetz!!! The amphetamines involved in her drug scandal was a form of medication!!! The police and prosecution couldn't even charge her for that but why did she get all the hate?!?! Why was she forced into hiatus mid-promotion?!?! In all honesty, I truly believe if it weren't for this random scandal 2NE1 wouldn't have ended like this. I'm just so angry!!! She didn't break the law, yet she had to face so much hate all because of her medication from like 4 years back before it was revealed and forced into hiatus. TOP broke the law and that's something he admitted to!! I love TOP and I believe he learned his lesson from this, but I'm just so angry at the different reactions from knetz. It's not that I hope TOP gets equal backlash as Bom did, but I just wished people reacted differently to Bom's case.

Anyways. Enough of my rant. Just slightly disappointed in people's reactions to these situations, though I didn't actually hope for that much to begin with.

honestly though, i'm really frustrated when it comes to the double standard imposed to female celebrities/groups. it's just... really unfair. Like, boy groups strip their shirts on stage (don't even get me started with the dance that they do which looked like they're having with the floor) but fans think it's y and all, while when female groups wear short shorts they're called s i mean, really?

that double standards, bias towards male idols, and unfair treatment had been there for quite a long time already and as much as i hate it, i honestly don't think that knetz' way of thinking will change soon :(
