TO. T.O.P

http://www.koreaboo.com/news/t-o-p-found-unconscious-suspected-drug-overdose/

I haven't commented much on the matter regarding T.O.P., and his 'scandal', because I have seen many different, polarising comments regarding this matter, ranging from the pitiful, feeling sorry for him and blaming the female trainee, to the the more logical ones, and to the right down cruel comments.

First of all, to be honest, I felt sorry for what he had to go through, but at the same time, I had to admit that I was incredibly disappointed in him, and I genuinely do not see how someone with a reasonable, objective view can wholly defend him, and blame and shame the female trainee for ratting out on him. I do believe T.O.P trusted and befriended the wrong girl, but at the end of the day, he is still an adult with the capability of own thoughts and control. Not to mention, the previous scandals the other members and YG Family members went through, I'd have thought T.O.P has learned from those incidences, especially from G-Dragon's 2011 scandal, and Bom's drug 'scandal', and I believe he should have thought the impacts on his family, friends, his fellow YG members and the V.I.Ps. If you are to defend him, you can only say that he trusted the wrong friend, and that the female trainee was a bad influence.

Second, yes, everyone has stress and pressure, and different methods of dealing, but drugs is certainly not a way to go. There are already way too many examples in Hollywood and the music world, to name just a few, e.g. Elvis Presley, Heath Ledger, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Prince, and more recently, George Michael. Once you start to take drugs as a way or form of escape, you'd find it very hard to break away. So, to the people defending T.O.P who said that it was his way to handle stress...please think again, you should be concerned and worried for him!

Third, there are also those comments who commented that they don't get the big deal with , as it's been proven there are positive effects of , such as easing pains for cancer patients, and arguably, it's not the most harmful drug out there. But unfortunately, we are talking about South Korea, which has some of the strictest laws regarding drugs control, and if you are living and residing in a country, you'd still have to obey the law regardless of how you think it's ridiculous. The only exception being is that the law is so unconstitutional that it infringes on your human rights, should then be some forms of disobedience be expected and understood. However, their drugs laws are not in that category, and anyone who is indicted and prosecuted, will have to pay their dues. In other words, you've made your bed, now lie in it. T.O.P will have to face the consequences of his actions whether we like it or not. Even though I also think is not that much bad of a drug, it's totally legal in the Netherlands, and sanctioned in certain states of the U.S.A, weeds is nothing when compared to the more severe drugs, like , heroin, and crystal meth. Also, I still, to this day, do not see Bom's incident as a 'scandal', yes, the drug was not allowed in South Korea, but it's not like she takes the drug in recreation, she takes it for her own mental health.

Fourth, there are a lot of stupid netizens who keep bringing up the past as if it's a correlation. Yes, I can see why people will bring it up, after all, G-Dragon also went through a scandal back in 2011, and it will always be a black spot on his slate, and it will always be some sort of a burden in the back of his mind, bringing it back up again is incredibly unfair to GD, especially when it's nearing his comeback. But then again, it's what netizens do, they only know to bully and type from their keyboards. May I remind you again, the police has already released a statement that the other four BIGBANG members were all tested, and ALL came back CLEAN, that should be a clear, loud enough message.

Fifth, I do believe chances after mistakes, and I really hope that T.O.P is genuinely repentant when he wrote that apology letter. I also believe that he made an incredibly stupid mistake, and should be given an opportunity to correct and change, but at the same time, he needs to serve his dues if he is prosecuted. However, T.O.P deserves to do all that by himself in peace, without any stupid someone hounding after him, especially the press and the media. There are comments which were rather mean and cruel, I ask those commentators to leave him alone, leave him in peace to self-reflect and repent, they are only adding more stress to him, and he deserves a second chance to correct and improve himself, after all, he didn't do something like going out killing people.

Finally, I have to fault the media and the press, which during recently, have only added fuel to the fire, I was especially most annoyed and irritated with allkpop, which kept posting one unnecessary, derogatory article after another, and it only possibly added more stress to T.O.P, and the entire YG Family. Additionally, I really hated their misleading titles, I'm sorry, but not every reader is that thorough, some will even just read the title and assume another fellow member was guilty of drugs taking. Frankly, I am speechless...because I know they will never change...the only hope I have is that the readers will be more sensible, and read the articles with a clear, logical head.

And now this...http://www.koreaboo.com/news/t-o-p-found-unconscious-suspected-drug-overdose/

Are the press happy now? Are the f***ing netizens happy now? I don't want to think that he was trying to commit suicide...but I really hope he is okay, and that he will regain consciousness, and please get better, Tabi oppa. We are still with you all the way. And please remember, even if it gets too much to handle, suicide is never the answer, never the way to go.

He didn't have "just stress" for him to turn to drugs. I had suspected he was depressed. but he's also dealing w anxiety apparently and yes, that obvious stress of being a kpop idol on top of all his other mental illnesses...I can understand why he smoked. I do think he should've known better and that he was irresponsible and careless, but i think TOP was at a point where it was too much to handle. And we can't compare weed to other drugs...I don't think TOP would ever be dumb enough to abuse anything, but...tbh I'd rather him smoke than drown away in alcohol.

That said it is highly illegal in SK and he shouldn't have done it. I don't think he really thought it over. But this...this overdose...he's so much more sensistive than I originally thought, and my heart hurts for him. The media and netizens and everyone that acted as if he'd committed an unforgivable, serious offense...I'm just so damn angry w rn.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think there's ever been fatal cases from sole use and I don't know if he was reported using other drugs with it. I sincerely hope that the government takes this in to consideration and either adjust their law on drug use or do something about the abuse in their entertainment industry. We're all aware of the mistreatment and disregard to basic human rights experienced by some celebrities and it's about time they stop pretending it's not a big deal. (If your country has a record for its suicide count, you have to admit there's a problem.)
