Background Min Miyu was orn on may 2nd, 1995 in Andong, North Gyeongsang, South Korea as the only child to two Korean pearents. Miyu was raised in a traditional house in the Hahow Folk Villiage where four generations of her family lived together (her paternal great grandmother, her paternal grandmother and grandfather her mother and father and her). Growing up, Miyu was always a positive child, she would spend a lot of time with her grandparents, listening and helping them in any way she could. She was known as a family girl. Miyu's school life was nothing special. Her classes always contained the same student's as her village wasn't that large.
When Miyu was fifteen, she heard about an exchange program from her school that really spiked her interest. After talking to her parents they agreed that it would be a good experience for Miyu. Miyu decided she didn't want to go far, so she chose to go to Japan. She was quickly accepted into the program and before she knew it she was on her way to Hakone, Japan to study for one year. Miyu was welcomed y her host family with open arms. Over her time in Japan, Miyu went from knowing hardly any Japanese to speaking advanced conversational Japanese. She became very close to her host family and their daughter (Suko) who was the same age as Miyu. Through their daughter, Miyu learned about Japanese idol groups who she fell in love with instantly. In their free time, Suko would show Miyu J-POP while Miyu would show Soko K-POP. They two bonded over the love for music and became even closer.
Before Miyu knew it, her time as an exchange student was over in Japan and she had to bid her host family, who she now knew as a second family a tearful goodbye. It felt bitter-sweet. She was excited to go home but sad to leave Japan. After spending one year back in Korea, Miyu was invited to go spend another year in Japan with her host family who had recently moved to Tokyo. After seeing how much Miyu wanted to go back, her family agreed and before she knew it, she was on her way to Japan yet again. This time, Miyu enrolled in the same Japanese school as Soko instead of going through exchange causing her advanced-conversational Japanese to become semi-fluent in no time. It was during this time that Miyu became facinated by city life and deciced that once she was back in Korea and finished with her schooling, that she would move to Seoul and try her hand at being a trainee. Miyu's second year in Japan flew by in what felt like a blink of an eye and again she was on her way back to Korea. Before she left, Soko and Miyu made a pact that they would always stay in contact, no matter what.
Miyu was finally back in Korea, and again led a pretty normal life. When she was finally done with school, Miyu told her family of her plans to move to Seoul and become a trainee. Miyu's grandparents were the first to jump on board, with her parent's slowly agreeing. And yet again, Miyu was leaving her family and home to go to Seoul and live with her aunt. It didn't take long for Miyu to start auditioning. Miyu quickly got accepted into Moon Ent. where she started her life as a trainee at twenty.
