Do you ever just...

Wow for telling myself I wasn't going to ever use this, I use this way too often.

Do you ever just comment on a well-known author's story(ies) and nervously type out and re-think whatever you're saying because you love this author's works and you don't want to offend them, and you try to express how the story touched you and tell them what you appreciated reading even if it's something they didn't think twice about writing and you want to convey how you noticed their knowledge of literary concepts and how well they applied them when you can't, and you just........

offend them or don't get your point across despite all the planning?

It's sort of a "senpai notice me" thing, but I just wondered if other people did this because I want to compliment people, but for some reason it comes out wrong on occasion. But only to the one author. I'm not naming them because I have nothing against the author I just... IDK feel like maybe I try too hard...?

I don't want them to think I don't support them by no longer commenting, but I feel like I offend them everytime I DO leave a comment.

Maybe it's all in my head.

I've never thought this could happen honestly. If you get a reply from the author maybe just try to explain? But I do think if not all most of it is in your head sweetheart. How can it happen really? As an author I've never received one like this

I read part of a story one time and it was about two siblings I think. I posted something like about the guy being mean to his sister maybe etc(NOT saying it was bad, just like observing) and the author responded with whatever, I don't even remember now, but for some reason they up and deleted my comment!! That upset me. I hadn't written anything bad or something attacking their writing or anything. So it's not just readers that can unintentionally upset an author- authors can upset their readers.
