before i talk about concept evaluation...let's reverse back a bit to see something we might have missed....

i remember the first perfs i watch of produce 101 this season was from first round battle....call me baby teams.

why...cuz...uhm...jang moon bok. n naturally i'd like his team's perfs better at first cuz...hey idk the other team n this one had my bias....i even dismissed other rappers as typical rapper voices...but wasn't that the case though? lol. i was young...(yeah right...a few weeks younger is still younger rite? haha)...i felt horrible for dismissing them so quick despite seeing the unfair treatment from mnet...

 

but from the two team's perfs alone...i managed to notice some things...especially team 2...after watching the backstory as well...

 

1. joo jinwoo. main vocalist of 2nd team. well, i noticed that the cuts were so imbalanced in duration...2nd team had like...half the duration than first team...i mean...

look at that tragic cutting/editing from mnet...seriously...even though i should just cared abt jang moonbok's team...i was hurt whenever seeing groups getting cut out so severely like with this team and also mansae team 2(my kids)....so i'm guessing this team must also be one of the reject/last picked teams...probly they're second last to mansae team2? idk it looks like mnet already decide to get rid of these kids from the way they're edited...-_-

unfair treatments never fail to irk me...so i went looking for full version...n i just randomly decided to watch joo jinwoo fancam(you can find it in this blogpost) since he's the main vocalist...n tbh i genuinely like both teams' main vocalists jinwoo n 1st team's main vocalist was kim seongri...both super underrated and were in same team for 'if it's you'...and both eliminated while kim yongguk n kim yehyun survived...i still can't fathom this. anyway, upon watching the fancam ver...i came to conclusion that he's a good singer, i like his voice, n he's goodlooking...lol.

but that's not the only thing...

2. the center.

cmon guys...if you say Kim Donghan did better as the center or danced better...i call you biased....cuz he's the more popular one. haha, yeah i'm assuming but just look at the other guy. Han Minho (not to be mistaken with ha minho that scandalous dude, thanks)...from the first i watched their team's video...i was like....hmm this dude really stand out...something bout his moves n his styling makes him seem...regal or sth...there's just this aura....even though i don't even know him....he totally stood out as the center...n how he had totally diff style/clothing colour from other members helped too...the other members are noticeably way more casual in style...n he's just...idk...regal...this word keep coming to mind...it's really a shame he didn't make it past first elimination...i feel his moves were executed more clean n defined too, n came out graceful n elegant..., though there were some parts he looked like he forgot the moves or sth lol...and i like his confident expressions the whole time...it really added to the charm factor...after watching both teams' perfs...other than jang moonbok-seong hyunwoo killing parts...it's han minho's effectiveness as center that stayed in my mind...he really had the elements that felt like a perfect fit for the song. Cmon, notice him, humans~!

3. Speaking of Han Minho as the center...you can't leave out Jeong Sihyeon's contribution/involvement in making han minho as center(he's the tall lanky guy for those don't know)...i remember originally kim dongbin wanted to be center...so everyone let him even though jeong sihyeon kept suggesting that han minho suited as center more for the song...but dongbin insisted on it, and joo jinwoo didn't show enough assertiveness as leader....haha...but jeong sihyeon impressed me so much by his leadership qualities even though he wasn't one, n he sang quite well too from what i see/hear...he even suggested for han minho again in front of the teachers when they had problems in practice...so finally kim dongbin had to tearfully gave it up...but change of center also happened in team 1, where the original center was seong hyunwoo before he was forced to give it up to kim donghan for coming off too strong in the dance practice session with trainer...

4. i also ended up liking Lee Seokyu for unknown reasons...i remember at first joo jinwoo was hardcarrying the vocals bcuz the team had weak vocals overall...until his voice was damaged or sth with his throat n trainers asked them to reassign parts and ask for other members specialty n lee seokyu said dance...n then the trainer said then he should be a dancer, not a singer...this. this is what i want to tell to everyone who excuse bad/below average singers just cuz they're dancegods or whatever...idols or not, singers...even idol singers are first n foremost...singers. those who are great dancers but whatever singer should just go n be dancers. but after the reassignment of parts...it seemed lee seokyu took on so many parts...sure, he might hav room to improve...or maybe it's just his voice...but still...i applaud his effort in stepping up...

5. random...but Kim Donghan from team1 and Jang Daehyeon from team2(the other rapper dude besides han minho) were actually from same agency...so this is labelmates' battle...and just cuz i need to mention him everywhere...the other one from their agency and also the oldest of the three was Jo Seongwook...my spiderman...haha...i really wonder if they'll debut together or if many agency changes will happen like with season 1 contestants...many from diff agencies end up getting together...isn't that adorable?

6. i ended up caring for team2, so much more than team1...even though it took me long enough n vocally they might be weaker....but idk...there's just sth bout them...maybe i just have strong attraction to underdogs...all thanks to mnet who treated team2 super unfairly(reminds me of mansae and be mine teams although for be mine it's not cuz of excessive cutting)...n i genuinely hope to see members of this team 2 to rise up n do better in the world outside of produce 101...out of the members ...only joo jinwoo n kim dongbin survived first elimination n now all of them already eliminated...

 

so that's it...i just want to bring your attention to the center you might overlook. n the team who won me late in the game just for the strong underdog vibe n the blinding captivating center that wasn't appreciated enough for how well he did(well, main vocalist did really well too)...i know, not a great reason to stan(the underdog part)....but i'm just representing the opposite of most other peeps who just go for popular one(even though at first i like the other team for having jmb the hyped kid.../get slapped for being a hypocrite/)...remember, i'm here to provide/add/contribute balance to the severely imbalanced world...lol....(uhh yea rite...)

ok a little on concept evaluation...

so it seemed they already had their recording for concept evaluation.

even though i can't judge the songs yet....

some random thoughts from seeing the lineups and order of perf...

 

- i don't care how the songs are....i'm rooting for 'i know you know'....because this team is the most likable to me in terms of the members...the only thing i'm worried about was the fact that the leader is...kwon hyun bin? whut? i hope he uhh succeeded to lead his team well though 99.9% sure this team won't be the highlight or get much attention, probly they'd ranked last like my fav teams from last season's concept evaluation...cuz no crazy hyped ones in here. meh...typical. (although there's still 0.1 percent of hope for twist)  but omg...jang moon bok was uhh transferred to this team...yay...more reason to root this team aside from the already fairly likable lineup...and yongjin was in this team too. was. /cries dramatic tears a little/

- how many thousand times will i see kim jong hyun as the leader(oh wait...there's no thousand episodes so...phew)...it's so stale by now...sure...no tae hyun n lee geon hee were also repeat leaders...but not for all times...by now i'm just watching unimpressed yawning...i'm not accusing him of anything...for all i know probly the members chose him but from nonfangirl perspective, this is just so boring, .variety please...n his whole nation leader hype just make him seem so overrated to me, bcuz his leadership is certainly no better than tons other leaders in the show who weren't even worshipped or hyped up a quarter as much ...

- i feel like they'd hype Never so hard...yeah already see it coming when i see the name Hyuna tagged to it(and it was even last song performed...can't be coincidence...i don't buy that)...always bout the popularity no matter what....when i heard the snippets of the songs in the show...this song didn't appeal to me...but watch how they'd make it work....and the other hyped one would probly be Showtime...just watch...;)...but who knows...the other two songs have their popular rep to make it....열어줘 had kang daniel n Oh Little Girl had park jihoon...the only way I Know You Know could win the hype battle is if the song touched viewers so much...cuz they don't have the overrated kid hype to carry them....it could happen...like with In the Same Place(but the situation then was diff...the composer was an idol...so naturally it gain popularity...but in this season, the idol composer was for Never...the song they intended to hype up anyway...last season, it was obvious they're trying to hype up Fingertip n Yum Yum for having those hyped kids.)

 

in case you didn't already know...my top2 favs from concept evaluation for season1 was 24 Hours and Don't Matter....that happened to be the two least popular ones...well, it's all expected....
