lately everyone's talking bout this show...even here...so i feel like i'm just in a bandwagon...which i usually hate to be in...but oh well...

And as usual...my preference/opinion always differ with majority even for this show...never intended...but it's alrite..i'm proud of it...so...if you have mainstream taste/opinion...as usual....i advice avoid reading my stuffs...;)

So...i haven't even watched ep5...but i'm so impatient to watch the new mission perfs....so i'll talk a bit on them...nothing professional...just my overall thoughts while watching...i'll not talk about dance teams since i really have nothing to say about dances...this ain't my fav aspect or even an aspect i care for in idols...if you're good singer...or your raps impress me enough despite my zero knowledge/interest in raps...i'll take notice of you...your dance...sadly i don't care much if an idol can dance or not...for me...an idol is still first n foremost a singer...you can be dancegod or whatever but if you can't sing i can't acknowledge you as a singer...even an idol singer...a good dancer should be a dancer,not a subpar singer with superb dance to justify being a singer...anyway, that't not the point of this post...

so there were four teams that have performed for vocal n rap position so far...

one thing important to take note is,....i'm not gonna be objective...i'm biased...but unlike many peeps i've seen and even mnet...i won't be afraid to admit it instead of act like my biasedness is justified or whatever...

- Team: Kim Seongri/Joo Jinwoo/Kim Yehyun/Kim Yongguk

Ehh....too much gushing n focus on Kim Yongguk even when his parts are just parts that didn't showcase much of anything in my amateur ears(he's alrite but ppl are giving him more credit than he deserve, even in last perf...most of difficult parts were done by lee geonmin, but ppl were giving kim yongguk equal credits)...Kim Seongri n Joo Jinwoo had nice parts...but nope...nobody care...part that irritated me the most...when people were gushing even before Kim Yongguk start singing...wow....i see what you did there mnet...heh...Kim Yehyun is totally the supporting part...i feel bad for him...but i feel worse for the ones who showed their beautiful voices but ppl only ever acknowledge whoever they want to oppar....i said it before that i'm rooting for Joo Jinwoo...n i still am...not sure his fate after this since the lack of popularity...but he did well...i'm glad for it.

 

- Team: Kang Dongho/Jeong Sewoon/Lee Daehwi/Choi Minki

I can only say i'm disappointed since i was expecting more than just 'hey look at me i'm cool' kinda perf...all flashy no depth/substance....but then again...idk if much more can be showcased with the song...i had higher expectation since Kang Dongho was from my top 3 fav teams last mission n he was one of the kids i was looking forward too...but he didn't impress me too here...i expected more...and Lee Daehwi...i still can't find the appeal in this guy...i mean...he's decent but to deserve top ranking? uhm....no. i've seen many other better ones...n it's not like his presence/personality are that appealing too...so...i just don't get it....oh well....

 

- Team: Im Youngmin/Kim Donghyun/Kim Dongbin

idk....i just know that Kim Dongbin sounds...bad here...

 

- Team: Lai Guanlin/Kim Jonghyun/Kim Taemin/Jang Moonbok

Lai Guanlin sounds...bad...in my ears...again(ok maybe not as bad as kim dongbin...i guess it's kinda better than his previous mission? but still...not great..certainly not worth top11). but of course he remains top ranking cuz that's nation producer's standard /clapclap/. Kim Jonghyun...i'm not familiar with his rap...but i'm not really impressed...his tone/voice doesn't sound natural...in my ears,  n why is he leader again? uhhh...i see what you did there mnet....second im nayoung position confirmed? huh. Too bad all the obsession with his so called superbangelic nation leadership made all other actual awesome leaders overshadowed...n unappreciated. Kim Taemin...i would've like better if his nasal-ishness didn't shine so much. Jang Moonbok...you already know i'm so freaking biased but i seriously get the chills n overwhelmed when he mentioned Hyunwoo(his rap partner in Call Me Baby perf that got eliminated after ranked at 61st place. only top60 survived)...and Hyunwoo was there too....T^T.....anyway Moonbok looks great with this style n i like that he sounds comfortable in his own voice n didn't try to do any deep/standard rapper voice like the rest that didn't quite come off natural to me...Moonbok's loyalty to his friend is just so beautiful to me, when Hyunwoo was replaced from being center...Moonbok came up with idea involving Hyunwoo to create impact for the perf n easing Hyunwoo's sadness...n he always seem genuine to me...not like he's doing it to get good points from viewers...yknow...he casually just let his rap flow without trying to control his voice to look/sound cool...crack and all...he delivered emotions....not 'i'm sad and cool...look at me...ain't i cool?'...

then again...i'm biased.

still a few other teams i'm anticipating...for kids i'm rooting for...like the team with Jeong Dongsu..boa song, not very familiar since i didn't really follow her but i hope dude got to showcase his unique voice here.....and then there's the team with Kim Yongjin...my little precious kid...but...it's bts song that i tried n never managed to finish cuz i was so bored by it...n his team looked like it had all other popular kids besides him...T^T...no....don't tell me he'd get like 1 line...he did so well as main vocalist before, even though i read ppl saying he's a rapper....then there's Yoon Jisung...who...i hope would rise up again...ioi song that i found a lil snoozefest n never manage to finish...but since he's extremely good at delivering emotion...i'm really hoping he'd be able to nail it...though his team would have a lot of nation producer favs too....and then...Kim Sanggyun...i'm really hoping for his pride redemption...n that he'd be confident enough to win audience with his abilities rather than tacky gimmicks again cuz i believe that he has it in him.

Why do i feel mnet is trying to sabotage some trainees rising up that they don't want to have in the final lineup tho? i don't even like Park Woodam but him in dance? n Yoo Hwiseung too...this is reminisce of season 1 when some strong vocalists were pushed to rap...like Hwang Ayoung n Kang Sihyun...n then Kim Sangbin n Lee Insoo too...idk their dance skill...but i feel they'd shine better in rap...idk....looks like trying to clear the path for the chosen ones....cmon...dance position is never a promosing position unless you're one of the popular kids...just look at season 1...n how team Growl that were so damn freaking awesome overshadowed cuz they're not 'the' avengers team....eh....

Somehow...i feel like they'll get rid of Jang Moonbok after top 35...he feels like Kim Juna of this season...not in terms of talents...since they obviously have different talents...but both can't dance...haa...n both started as the controversial/public figure n had their own kind of popularity/recognition already....i guesss idolgroup isn't about having uniqueness but making it as generic as possible like ioi...in that sense...i'm already prepared to see Moonbok or all of my fav guys to not make it...i'm just hoping they could at least make it to top 35...but things are looking so bleak...

it looks like produce 101 season 2 is more like project Nuest redebut. and kim jonghyun already reaching no.1? really? with what?...kind words n tolerance towards spoilt brats as the oh so superb leader? really?...oh wait...i forgot...even the kid who got no.1 before this got it for winks...huh...

and i can't believe when i see people comparing yoon jisung to kim sohye? cmon....not him or moonbok can be compared to sohye...they're easily so much better...like whut.

i feel like after next elimination i'll only be left with 1-2 of kids i'm looking forward to...and that's if i'm lucky....ugh...oh well...
