KPOP SHAMING

These days, you can't deny how the Kpop community has been growing worldwide. The supposed to be label of music of Koreans, became its own genre, and now it became a community. All over the world, millions of people from all age, supports Korean music.

I don't really see the problem with that. But as I observe the social media, there's this annoying issue that's becoming too large to ignore. As you can see, nobody made a fuss when Rihanna became famous. Nor when Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Justine bieber did. Not even when One direction almost had the world to their hands. No. It was okay when western artists rule. But when Korean pop/music is becoming famous, I can see a lot of people degrading and downright disgusted at KPOP.

And I can't seem to understand why.

In my country, Philippines, a lot of people are shaming, slandering, and judging people who are into KPOP. Saying they're arrogant, noisy, creepy, overreacting, crazy, immature and the list could go on. It's annoying because I know for a fact that it's not just the Kpop community. It's part of being in a fandom. Of being a fangirl.

I saw One direction fans faint and cry so hard when they had their concert in my country. One even used her tuition fee money for the ticket.

I've heard a person suicide back then when Bieber was in rehab for using drugs.

I see people trying to copy Swift's very curly hair and the way she dress.

I'm not hating. I'm just proving a point. We all do these things out of loyalty on our own idols. Stop looking at Kpop fans like they're about to kill your whole family or hate them like they cursed your ancestors.

I don't know if this is the case in any other country, but this issue is getting worse in Philippines. I hope other countries has it better. Seriously. Stop. And grow up. It doesn't make you a better person by judging the out of us.

I'm from the Philippines too and I can see your point, but some of the artists you mentioned though DID receive hate and shame. One Direction, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and even Taylor Swift. They all were hated. The majority hated One Direction because of their famdom, saying only 12 years old kids liked them and that they's can't sing to save their lives, that they only became popular with looks. It was the same with Justin Bieber. Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus were said to be overrated JUST because they started of as disney actors and had a boost on their music career. Every artist recieves hate but kpop seems to have been hated more maybe because pinoys are very close minded. Just because they're another culture with another language, they make fun of the people who enjoys them. They always say "do you even understand them?" Another thing is that TBH the pinoy kpop fans take it too much. I remember in the past immature kpop fans always started fights on twitter at any random fandom. Good thing though is that they changed. Kpop fans aren't as immature as in the past.

Lately though, there hasn't been hate towards kpop. Well, from my point of view. Kdramas are becoming popular that even my brother who used to tease me for it started watching DOTS, Moon Lovers, etc. In my community they don't mind kpop fans anymore since they're increasing in numbers making it normal. The people they bash though are those who posts kpop things on FB, twitter, and instagram all day everyday. Of course they'll get annoyed when their timeline are flooded with kpop. And these days kpop fans are now more open. There were about 3 kpop events that were held in my city so far and more to come. This is because the korean culture is becoming popular in the PH due to kdramas, but maybe that's just in my city. Maybe it's different in others. Although korea is being loved here, maybe it's different in your place.

Sobrang nakakaasar talaga yan. I don't understand kung ano ba ang problema nila sa Kpop. Wala naman pumipilit sa kanila na pakinggan yun e. They have a choice kung gusto ba nilang i-try or not. The thing that I don't understand the most is when they judge us for the music we like and listen to. Kamot ulo.

Tbh there are a lot of things to mention but I'm leaving here the 4 reasons most commonly brought up by Hollywood fans against Kpop:

On the language.
- They say na hindi naman daw natin naiintindihan ung kinakanta o sinasabi nila. Medyo stupid lang kasi kaya nga may subtitles at pwede namang mag-aral ng new language right? Also, medyo shame on them kasi ang ironic- I mean- they use the "language barrier" excuse when they are not that efficient English speakers at all. Lakas makapuna sa Kpop fans pero wasak naman ang English grammar and speech. Mali-mali pa ang spelling at ang gulo ng sentence construction. Ironic right?

On the image and concept.
- It's not a secret na malakas gumamit ng make up ang Kpop idols even ang boys. I don't see the problem. Pero it seems that these people use this as an excuse to call someone as gay. I don't have a problem sa LGBT, I respect them. But what infuriates me is the nerve of these haters to call someone gay or lesbian kahit wala namang katotohanan. Para kasi sa akin, bastos ung tatawagin mong bakla ang isang tao kahit hindi naman. Like teka muna- let's give these people the right to voice out for THEMSELVES kung ano ba ang preferences and orientation nila. Wag nating pangunahan sila. Also kung bakla o tibo man- what's the problem? Naiba lang naman ung preferences and orientation nila.

On the number of youtube views.
> Ang tanga grabe. I get it na million and billion views ang nakukuha ng mga Hollywood artists but what's the point of belittling the number of views that Kpop music videos get? Did they forget na almost all people in the whole world can understand English? That most people prefer English songs that their own country's songs??

On the pathetic excuses, comparisons, and hate.
> Since I like both genres and listen to them often, it's really pathetic when I see comparisons made between Hollywood and Kpop/Kdrama. Lalo na pag walang connection. At lalo na pag nagpost ng comparison thing na walang research (example: Little Mix won xx awards while Blackpink won 9 awards. Ano say ng BP niyo? ***like wait excuse me. kaka-debut lang ng BP last 2016.. meanwhile LM has been in the industry for a few years already...????)

I honestly don't get why these hate against each other is so observed. I mean- if you don't like it then don't listen to it! Ang dami talagang time ng bashers.
