8 Ways to Prevent Writers Block

1. READ! Always read, preferably something along the genre you are writing in.

2. Write a really crappy draft of your entire story. Don't bother with the metaphors or trying to explain things, just terribly draft your story so your plot will come together.

3. Read lyrics of poetic/creative songs.
My personal favorite:

"I might as well O.D. Akin to a friend
A name I confess that would make me a mess, Persephone
Queen of my fire, the underworld's eye and apple of mine
Oh, you thought you saw my soul
Paid for traded and sold
I may not be so bold, afterall"

4. Listen to classical/instrumental music as it relaxes you and helps create an emotional feel, making you attached to what you are writing.

5. Imagine your story is a movie. Close your eyes and freestyle your plot. This will also help you create a more realistic setting.

6. Watch live performances of the idols you are writing about. It will make you more excited about your story's characters!

7. Act out your story by yourself or with a friend. Again, just wing it. See what you come up with.

8. Look at pictures of scenery, or paintings that could relate to your story. This will give you vibes, and make you excited to write.

This is such a helpful post for those who have writer's block. I always manage to swerve around my writer's block because my brain is always on the creative side but this is still helpful. Thank you!
