AFF Author Questionnaire

I wasn't tagged by anyone, but I saw OnceUponAnEXO's blog post and I wanted to do it.

I am not tagging anyone specific either, just anyone who wants to do it. ^^

1. How did you come up with your user name and what does it mean?

ThaliaMoirae is my username for everything. I made it in middle school when I was really into Greek mythology; Thalia is the Greek muse of comedy and festivity, while the Moirae are the Fates.

2. Which is your most subscribed to story?

Shots of Bangtan is my most subscribed with 3781 subscribers.

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

It is the same selfie I have on all of my social media lol

4. Who is your AFF bestie?

I don't have an AFF bestie, but I have a handful of authors that I speak to regularly through PM's or comments.

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

I don't really re-read stories. I like to look for new ones, but if I really like a story then I will go read the other stories that the author has written.

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

1,076... I like to read new stories....

7. What AU do you find yourself writing about most?

I am a er for wolf/omega AUs, but I also write a lot of school and university AUs.

8. How many friends do you have?

106

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

Not really. There are very few things that are off limits for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on AFF? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

What are regular updates? Hahahaha...I am so sorry...

11. How many subscribers do you have?

I have 7330 unique subs and 9831 total subs.

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

I have 10 thus far.

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

If we count each one shot as it's own story, over a hundred.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I always write my ideas down, otherwise I would forget them.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Not yet, but it is something that I am planning on doing in the future.

16. How did you discover AFF?

My friends sent me links to fan fiction once I got into kpop and then I came here...and never left.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

I mean, I wouldn't, but I am still amazed that there are over 7000 people out there who care about what I am writing...that is a lot of people...

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

No, I call them my readers. I think the nicknames are cute, but it isn't something I would want to give to my own readers.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

Not particularly. I was writing fiction before I started writing here, but I started writing fan fiction as a joke when I wrote a BlockB crack fic (The Deli Boy) for my friends. Then it started getting hundreds of subscribers and I was blown away. So, I guess that I have my friends (Jovialtrees, 12we23, and Beccaperson) to thank.

20. How many karma points do you have?

As of now, 6950. But I had double that before I sent some as gifts.

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Just post something! We are our own biggest critics, so if you wait to post something until you are 100% satisfied with it, then you will never have something to post. There are people who will love your story no matter what and each new story that you post is a learning opportunity. Take the plunge and practice, practice, practice.

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I used to just figure it out as I went, but now I plan everything. I think that it works better for me and that I write higher quality stories that way.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

I haven't gotten anything really bad, but there was a misundersting with a reader who didn't like the way that I portrayed one of my characters. I politely addressed it and cleared up the misconceptions.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

Sometimes can be a struggle for me, but I have the hardest time writing action/fight scenes.

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

I have updates for both Shots of Bangtan and We Are One that I am editing, right now.

I am also in the process of writing a new TaeKook wolf AU and drafting a NamJin domestic AU, both longer, chaptered stories.

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

Oh yeah. I am always planning for new stories. It is never ending.

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

Honestly, at this point it is like a yearly goal. I try to write as often as possible, but I am finishing up my third year at University and my second teaching internship, so I am busy all of the time...

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

Most definitely. I have three more years of experience and a nearly complete BA in English that have both given me the practice and skills needed to improve my writing.

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

It is a tie between When I See You Smile and It's All About the Chase; I am really proud of both of them.

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

It isn't really a least favorite, but I do cringe a little everytime I get a new subscriber on The Deli Boy.

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

Well, I hope that I keep improving my abilities and writing because it is something that I love. 5 years from now, I still want to be writing whatever it is that makes me happy, whether that is fan fiction and plays, like it has been in the past, or something new.

32. How many upvotes do you have?

283

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

Creating characters and the worlds for them to live in

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Slowing down and taking the time to include imagery details...also, writing action scenes.

35. Why do you write?

Because I love it. It is a way for me to create, to calm my anxiety, and to share my experiences and thoughts with an audience.
