In real history, Baek-Ah has one son named Wang Soon whose mother was Hwangbo Seol (Queen Hunjung), but she died as she gave birth to him. Committed the grave crime of adultery with widowed queen, Wang Chi (King Seongjong) sentenced Baek-Ah exile to his hometown in Silla when Soon was a baby. When Soon cried out for his father, Chi, filled with compassion, decided to let the boy live close to his father.

In my fanfic, Soon always visit his father. Baek-Ah tells a great story of Hae Soo who earned the love from Gwangjong (Wang So). However, Baek-Ah died in sickness when Soon was only five. But in here, he was saved by Seol and Ju (who’s now her husband and adopted heir of Hae Clan) from Kim Chi-Yang’s murderous grasp. Later, Soon was crowned as the king Hyeonjong. He is aware of the fact that Seol is Wang So and Hae Soo’s daughter but he kept it as secret for them. In fact, the first thing he had done during his beginning reign, was having deceased Hae Soo adopted as a member of royal Silla’s Kim clan and posthumously named her as Gwangjong’s true wife, Royal Consort of Kim (the royal consort does exist in historical information in Gwangjong’s life).
