Broken People

We both have crack lines on our foolish hearts

We both have bandages wrapping our wounded souls

One sided lovers ruined by one night stands

Hopeless romantics ruined by hopeless crushes

We write our anthem with the same vocabulary

Composed them with a resembling melancholy

We see through each other rather easily

Now we're falling for each other's sheer mentality

But brother, see our little friend standing over there?

She is giving her heart full of hope only for you

Look at how pure, unscathed and innocent it is

Do you want it to end up like our broken ones too?

We know how it feels to have our hearts shattered

To see others stealing someone we wanted

I don't want to be the I've always loathed

Especially to my very own sister in blood

It is never a matter of looks and age

Nor has it ever been a matter of wealth

Trust me, brother, do not try to change anything

Maybe this time, it is not our shot yet

We may talk all day and act like lovers

Amaze each other as we discover ourselves

But if being more than that means hurting a friend

Let's just go back to where we started
