appearance — Her face suits her mentality—she can go from that childlike, innocent look to the leader image who's professionalism and seriousness can be seen. But on her normal days, Shinbin's refreshing face makes everyone feel good. Always adorned with her sweet smile, her wide, doll yet mysterious eyes showcases different emotions. She has this not so pale skin (being always bathed under the sun when swimming on Busan's famous beaches, thankfully Seoul's weather made yet skin tone fair again) yet it has this healthy glow that makes her petite figure not on a sIckening, unhealthy image. Swimming made her muscles firm, but it doesn't go bulging. Instead, it only made her limbs have a soft feature, baby fats are still being burn under the process of growing.

Standing 168cm, she admits she's a little bit small compare to others (but still happy having jihoon lower than 4 cm which is a big deal for them), but those long arms and legs only made her feeel awkward and stumble a lot. She's petite by making news portals issued her of anorexia due to her almost 20 cm (but in reality, it was 25cm) waist. It was her slightly average bump (which she's thankful for those numerous squats during training) that made her figure somewhat of a model like (but her conservative, manly and rowdy attitude makes every brownie points to be hidden)

Fashion/style — Comfortable. A certified fashion terrorist yet she, herself, plus her positive outlook (and the glares she's sending every time someone teases her weird fashion), saves the day! Being a plain, conservative country pumpkin, she wears a bunch of normal clothes that she thinks normal because she knows to herself if she tried hard to mix and match clothes, she'll end up creating either a funny outfit or a new fashion trend (because anything looks good with her). Any comfortable will do, without her coordinator unnie, she'll always wear large shirts, sweaters, jogging pants— any not so girly clothes that will not expose her smooth legs or even 35% of her skin. Neutral, white, black, or any dark colors, she doesn't have an eye for striking neon yet if someone dresses her up with it, she'll just endure it (as long as her 45-65% of her skin is covered). However, if and if her dongsaengs or coordinator unnie tried to dress her up, she's greatly willing (because even she's conservative and low-key oldie, if she thinks her so called "Female Fatale" under those rowdy image of hers is being shown, her Goddess persona emerges, thus her self esteem rises)

personality —  There's these 3 personas that everyone's personalities could be categorized with. The persona you let your loved ones sees, the persona stranger sees, and the persona no one sees.

 

Being the oldest child in her family, she's taught to be mature and motherly(or so, fatherly). She viewed the world a young, innocent child shouldn't have first. Having no motherly care as she  grew up, her independent attitude kicked in. She grew timid, but over the course of the years, her introverted persona was always masked by her out-going and refreshing attitude. Caring for others was a norm for her, making her prioritize other's ease before her's. She was a class clown, or so that "oldie joker" that brings laughs to everyone, either because the joke was funny, or the joke was definitely lame. She's humble, down-to-earth girl who'll always be the respectful kid and a great helper for she has a soft spot for the needy. However, these quite soft persona goes 180 degree flip if her leadership persona strikes. Being the stereotypical Busan girl, she wouldn't back down on any fights, as long as she knows she's on the right side. She hates injustice, she hates that favoritism going around. she's calm like the water but strong as the concrete, like an oobleck when forced, she can be a pain to anyone fighting with her.

 

Everyone who knows her knew how out-going she is, however everyone who truly knows her knew how she's really scared of everyone. She created this fake transparency wherein she shows when she's mad and she shows when she's happy, but she will never show how unhappy she is and every worry she has if no one will be able to see through her. She's blunt, the way she'll say everything harsh (for she believes the best way an individual will learn and change is to be honest with him, no matter how brutal you might look like), that made her into some fights and dramas. Some sees her as strict, snappy authoritative person that wants everyone to follow her, making everyone or some who doesn't know her that much to judge her as someone acting high and mighty. And that's what Shin Bin is sad about.

 

She wants everything to be organized, a little OC, to finish something on detail. She's a little bit uptight and that persona is something she hates, yet is natural to her leadership attitude. It was normal in Busan for people to act rowdy and commanding, but as she started to train in Seoul, she was somewhat misunderstood that causes some to be afraid of her.

 

Yoo Shin Bin was kind of intimidating when serious, making her sometimes act like a child (but those clumsiness is a part of her that comes naturally) for others not to go away or be scared of her. She doesn't see herself someone who has something to be proud of. Yes, she's doing well—great rather—on academics but this only made her pressured, making her to be frustrated when something others can is hard for her. She thinks everything can be learned upon, so why can't she dance like her sister does? Why can't she sing like she was on her bedroom? Why can't she do some trainees, even younger than her, while she knew she's a fast learner? Those insecurities had been a parasite on her system for this past years, the reason why she's still a down-to-earth person even she has good things (good academic status, eat everything you'll not gain weight body, positive lifestyle) others doesn't have, is because she's suffering from that inferiority complex. And that persona, the weak one who's belittling herself, thinking that she's all alone, having no niche nor importance nor self value, was the one being hidden from everyone—everyone who doesn't seem or tried to look into the strict yet jolly leader they had knew along.

background — Born on a middle class family, she was taught of how things work and how the world revolves. It wasn't a painful childhood for she sees everything on her own perspective. After her mother leave her, her father and her almost 1 year old sister to work overseas, she's not saddened but it. Yes, she longed for a mother's love, but as soon as the communication between them and her mother severed, she knew that she must not depend on others anymore. She doesn't want to be a burden, rather she just wanted to provide herself and her family a better life after she graduated. And those plans were instilled on her young brain, not even stepping on her teenage years.

For her whole studying years, she's quite an achiever—mainly because she has goals in life. Well...a goal, for the only thing she has in mind is to finish her studies, earn cash and making her family depend no more to their relatives. For 15 years, she's only focused on her studies making her father being proud of her for being the first on her batch. Smart, witty, yet still laid-back and nice, that's how everyone knows her. But no, she's not that laid back and she knows that having this life isn't much nice and easy than everyone thinks. She's being pressured, school as well as everyone's expectations makes it hard for her to breathe. She's always jolly, she's always positive, she's always turning every bad events into hopeful events for she believes "everything happens for a reason". But she can't always make herself believe on those always. Her pessimistic side, her fearful side, her anxious side about what will happened tomorrow, will she be alright, when will she see the path that was created to her. At a very young age nearing that legal age, she's now not sure of her goal. If what does she want, if what really herself, not her family or anyone, wanted. The realization if she's still happy of the path she had designed herself makes her stop for a moment. What makes me happy, by the way? It was then the music the only things that smoothens her messed up mind.

It was around this time when her best friend, seeing the depression she had sported and hidden made a move by asking her father to let Shin Bin stay at their house for one night. Normally Shin Bin would be the one to say no for she really is afraid of her father but it was the first time she wanted something for herself. She wanted to feel fun after those tiring days during her middle school. For the first time she pleaded, and after a long discussion she was permitted to go, and there, she felt that unfamiliar feeling of excitement. Shallow happiness for others but asking her father to let her go with others, staying outside the house not because of school purposes, it was a bliss of happiness. It was then that she was shock that instead of a quite sleep, she was inside an arena—a dome she doesn't really know—and there to her surprise her best friend made her watched the live concert of "My cousin! Actually it's her group— but hey it's After School so it's gonna be fuuuuuuun!". She watches intently, as the music wonderfully makes her at ease, and tried to sing along to the music her Best friend has been listening to while they were studying. And that concert that made her realize what thing made her happy. It was music. It was singing.

It was right then her interest on music slowly develops. As she step into high school, almost all clubs she attended was aligned with music. She started to dance-- yes she had danced before, but dancing in front of other people, this is certainly new— tried singing —singing for an event, even only the back up was again something thrilling and new— and even learning musical instruments. Truly these experiences where new to her.

However, she being a member of swimming team and being absent on some training due to her new obligations and newly found priorities reached her father. It was then their first argument occur, making her father cut her allowances to "stop wasting them for such trash!". It didn't stop her however, but she really tried hard to juggle everything. She strained her body too much, and some of those "musically talented" people ridicules her "non-existing talent" being a late bloomer, made her frustrated. A change of character had happened, she's not enjoying it anymore. She just wanted to be good, to be something — not others—but she wanted, but why can't she be? Why can't she be supported? Why did she discover this late?

Some knows that she dances, but no one knows how she's trying so hard to be good with it. Everyone knows that singing isn't her forte as she jokes around with turning ballad into a trot song, but no one knows how it kills her every time she sings her she can't even do it properly, making her just stick to singing secretly. She's now mentally depressed thinking that she doesn't have even an ounce of talent, which didn't help with the fact her friends and sister are known to be good at least on one musical talent. But why can't she? Why she's only good at academics, yet she can't do things that she dreamt of? Why doesn't she have any talent or skill she's proud of? And that depression even affects her studies, every burdens that she'd always withheld within herself are damaging her, causing her to finish high school having the second place—not the first as what they have expected to— much to her father's dismay. She feared her father so much that she can't face him as she talk to him over the phone after the announcement was made. She feared that everyone will blame her because she was wrong, because she chose to be greedy as what they have said. Because she chose to be something she cant be, something she shouldn't be. And there, for the first time, she ran away. The mighty Yoo Shin Bin let her hidden persona play. She flight, for can no longer fight.

It was then when she's 17, around April 2014, when Pledis accepted her. It was 2 months before she reached her legal age. The age she promised to herself that she'll have the path she'll work ready to be walked in front of her.

 He only wanted t he best for her daughters. He only wanted to provide them everything, to fill the gap her wife--no longer wife-- had left. He was strict, yet he was a joker, one of the qualities Shin Bin had inherited. Yet, as their communication severed, plus the fact Shin Bin being secretive, acting like she's no longer the daughter that can't sleep without his father by his side, is it his fault that her daughter turn something he's afraid of? Is it because he had caged her little butterfly, too afraid that it'll fly away too high, was the reason now she was out of reach? He wanted the best for his oldest, and even it means that he'll support her even they can't see each other for years, it would be just fine for him.

At a young age she was blessed with a lovely daughter. At a young age she blessed with another. Yet, at a young age, she lef her blessings. Is it because she had only used Yoo Yeong Gi's love for her to escape this country? Is it because she had founded someone who can give her everything? Or is it because she fell out of love? No one knows really the answer of her disappearance, yet she's trying to connect the bridge she had cut from.

They're always conjoined to their hips. Shin Bin was always protective to her little sister as what her parents had taught her. Ultimately, she had spoiled her much for all she wants was for her not too feel sad about their mother working outside the country to give them their needs. however as time passes, their closeness now gone, not completely for they still can joke and punch each other, but they can't share their problems with each other. She's a little bit guilty about not asking her sister even she sees depression eating her up, but they're trying to see each other if Soo Jin happened to be free and Shin Bin escaping her training hours.

It was her  that pushed Shin Bin to be all the way to where she is right now and really, she is thankful having the blabber mouth girl to be beside her for almost  all of her life. Since diaper days, until now, they're still seeing each other—another perks of having Park Soo Young a.k.a. Lizzy as her cousin, and an intern as Pledis Staff. They have helped each other over the course of years and she's the only one that knows Shin Bin (and the self proclaimed Faith's number 1 Fan) thoroughly.

Stage Name — Faith | As her name was Shin, which means "Faith", she hopes to be the one whom everyone can depend on, a strong leader, like a sun, that shines bright to provide positivity amidst the darkness.

trainee years — 3 Years

trainee life — Being in Busan for almost 18 years was different to her stay to Seoul, as what she can feel. It is hard to adjust, having been dealing the depression and the trainee system on at the same yet foreign land, she knew it would be hard. But she really want this. She wanted this dream. This motivation burned through her veins, with Sun Hee's help, it took a month for her to recuperate. She didn't attend the Graduation rights for her ego was also stomped because also thought she would be the the first. However, she sees it as a purpose for her to stop making expectations and just try harder like what was before-- a perfectionist. It was frustrating, but thanks to her choir training during high school, having Sun Hee's mother as her voice coach gave her the confidence that was striped out of her.

As she tried to audition in Pledis, she was hopeful, at the same time fearful, doubtful if she's going to pass. Weeks have passed her she didn't receive the call she was promised to. She already prepared her resume to find a job while continuing her college studies as Pledis called, telling her to get ready another audition, which she had passed.

She started again as the meek girl she really was around every stranger. She was afraid everyone would ridiculed her, mock her due to her "inconsistent and lacking" skills. She was afraid, her brain giving her scary thoughts, but as the trainer tried to make her sing yet she almost back out, hearing the words "being scared will never give you any opportunity", she strive hard just to achieve a note even it took her one week, she felt the motivation, as some trainees also helped her.

Finishing highschool, she has no problems on prioritizing her training, making her maintain her focus without straining herself too much. Sun Hee's frequent calls made her feel at ease, and even the home sickness was eating her up, she tried to use it as a driving force to debut faster, although she knew it would be hard. but her motto that made her be on top for years consecutively made her work for it. 

It was hard, it was what he had expected, but the vocal, rap, dance acting and the monthly evaluating she's always fearful of makes her fall again into deep anxiety. But no. She couldn't back down. Fooling herself of the fake confidence was all she needed, then she would use it as her last resort. She just practiced, practiced and practiced, all day and all night, with or without watching. And as she passed the monthly evaluation, almost everyone was impressed. Impressed not because of her skills for it was only average amongst the trainees, but her improvement, the passion she has, her skill on seeing everything that is wrong and trying to improve it, the trainers applauded it. She regain the self-confidence she has, and her humble attitude made her gain friends amongst the trainees, and being one of the oldest and having the sense of helping them, after the memorized a dance routine, she's willing to teach everyone that has problems with, everyone who wants to criticize them because even Shin Bin lacks on something, she still has something only she has—a sharp eye for mistakes, the passion to change it and a space for improvement. As her old self was building again, she now were able to smile, laugh and joke around, guiding everyone that made her a candidate as the Pledis' new girl group.

Stage personality — Tough Cookie. At first, being the leader, of course eveyone expected her to be someone who's serious, chic yet respectful. But yeah, at the gourp become accustomed with each other, they turned into somewhat little pawns of darkness attacking their leader, making Faith's strong personality to be broken, revealing her rather sweet and quirky side (and it took almost months before her ajumma persona ate her up). (*i dont know what to call this sgae personality lol forgive me)
