RANT

*SIGHS*

OKAY. First of all, I watched HWARANG not because of the GUYS but because of the plot. I admit, having 6 Handsome dashing young men prancing around the drama is convincing enough for a fan to watch.

But not me... (okay the King is handsome as hell but I really fell for the plot before him)

First of all, I love Queen Seon Deok. Even though the drama is loong. I loved watching it. MISHIL is still one of my favorite antagonist in k-dramas. Because she doesn't just bring the protagonist down but she improves them too.

and King Jinheung (he is included in QSD) is one of the greatest Kings Korea has. He contributed in the expansion of Silla. *see I even know their history now."

I honestly watched this show because, I thought. WOW a period drama with King Jinheung and Hwarang as the plot line. I thought I'll see how great of a King he is. But HELL I was wrong.

It's just FRUSTRATING to see the weakling he was being characterized about! I WAS GLAD THAT IN EPISODE 10 WE had a PEEK of what he was supposed to be even without the freaking throne and It was good! TO see the 2nd lead's character developing as well. That fleeting moment of him standing up for what he wants. Ugh I want to see more of that!

BUT Recently all Hwarang has to offer is the CRYING, WHINING Female lead. Who was supposed to be strong and firm. and The cliche HEROIC and all-the-major-things-happen-to-the-lead things.

I just wish, that the writer, director or at least someone from the drama REALIZES that the character development of each character is not the same. It's like the others are making way for THAT ONE MALE LEAD TO DEVELOP.

How can one improve have a good character development that happens simultaneously, you might ask? WATCH AVATAR; THE LAST AIRBENDER. NOT the MOVIE but the awesome SERIES.

I accepted it for a long time that this drama gives more time making nonsense, similar googley-eyes scenes rather than making advancements on the plot. but for pete's sake. Please, please, PLEASE the drama is not all about two fake siblings falling in love. IT's centered in HWARANG. and the suppose rise of the hidden king. Why the hell does the it seem like a petty, usual love story?

Not to mention, the king is like being bullied in the drama. *sighs*

Now we only have 5 episodes left. 5 more Hours to prove that the Faceless, hidden King will be and can be the true, great king of Silla. I wonder how the writer will squeeze, -the King getting revealed, him getting the trust of Hwarang and his best friend and over throw the Queen. Just how? When the writer obviously loves lovey dovey scenes.

NOW BEFORE YOU SAY THAT I'M SOMETHING OR WHATEVER JUST BECAUSE I APPEAR TO LOATHE LOVEY-DOVEY SCENES. STOP.

I like them, in fact if placed properly. I LOVE THEM! But this one just frustrates me because the repetitive scenes can be reduced and some important plot scenes can be added. I feel so sad, that I'm watching something that has the potential to be a groundbreaking drama if they only knew how to... *sighs*

Well that's it. I'm afraid if I talk more it'll become a book T_T

*woosh* If you even reached here. Congrats, you've reached the end point, ahahaha

If KOREA DOESN'T WANT THE 2ND LEAD THEY CAN GIVE THEM TO ME.

NOW, QUICKY GIVE ME SHIN HYUK AND SAM MAEK JONG! You're just torturing them anyway.

Omg!!! You stole my future blog post... because DAMN thats exactly what I felt after watching Hwarang last night... like seriously what the hell?!?!... the female has started to get on my nervous (and I love Go Ara!!!) And just like you said, everyone keeps making way for the lead while the king, who i adore (sorry, i have second lead syndrome as well ;);)) is there to fill an empty space... its so frustrating... i seriously thought to stop watching when those lovey dovey gooey eye scenes started... which were really not necessary...

But to be honest, i don't think its writer's fault... more like director, since the direction of the drama is really weak. It was a great plot but the director ruined it :(:(

OMG! We share the same thoughts! They're just dragging the romance. I want them to develop the actual plot.
