music, drama, girlgroup, boyband, actor, actress, connecting dots, random spazzing

another mega gigantic spazzing session so don't expect much of coherent storytelling...if you want to understand you'll have to just find a way to keep up with my blabbery spazzing...lol.

So...it all started with my recent random project of getting Chakra perfs to upload on youtube. (and really, as much as I love Hwangbo, i hate how her fans would just act like the other girls are just irrelevant backup dancers that don't worth a single mention/appreciation at all, well, i'd say Jung Ryeowon's -who's from same group- fans do the same just that they don't flock at my channel...typical individual member fans of popular members in groups...i hate it so much that i decided to just block comments for all my recent uploads of Chakra vids...haa) -if u dunno Chakra n want more info...more on it later in this blogpost...just scroll down-

So back to /cough/...what i was saying...it started with me trying to find n upload Chakra perfs...i was so devastated bcuz it was so hard to find live perfs....and then...bam...i found an awesome one(and a few others)

It was their first single/title song from their 3rd album...and what made this perf more special...there's Park Jung Ah from Jewelry opening the perf for them...omg..and there's MC The Max guy playing violin...omg....okay so the show only labeled him as MC The Max...and i felt the need to find out his name so i can put the title properly...now this was the beginning of my rediscovery n connecting dots...off i went to go look for dude playing violin in the band...i was never much fan of MC The Max...since i'm not much into ballad...but i remember them dearly during their Moonchild time in 2000-2001 before they became MC The Max in 2002...because they had one of my fav songs and really cute MV to boot...(as Moonchild they're still rock band but their music had more variety of fusion with techno, pop and they also had rock ballad which became their main sound/identity later on in MC the Max)

i mean.....watch this...be honest...

and try to tell me it's not cute...

wait. don't.

Don't ruin my good mood here...lol. Watching this MV always make me happy. And the music too of course.

Ok so a member from this band also had messed up it seemed...but that's years later and cmon...this was when they're so young n so 'innocent' and cute...(let's not add to my guilt pls..why must all these celebs keep messing up -_-)

(the violin guy i think is the most kiddy like cutesy one in the MV lol)

But when i was looking for the members information to find out who the violinist was...i found another information...about the member who left the group...before they decided against their earlier consideration of disbandment to continue as 3member band instead with new name that is MC The Max the name they still go by until now. (he's the one playing keyboard in the MV)

I look for his info...and then i realized OMG he's actually an actor i've encountered more than once in dramas...

And i even watched when he appeared in King of Masked Singer but i didn't realize it...i didn't connect the dots...

^ before anything...Shin Bong Sun fangirling was the cutest thing...><...

there were so many dots.

If you recall my blogpost about worst heroine....yeah this guy, Heo Jung Min played the younger bro of Eric in that drama with the annoying heroine. And furthermore...when i watched the drama, i also felt like i've seen him before and my sister told me that he's the younger bro of (the late)Jung Dabin's character in 'My 19 Year Old Sister In Law'...okay, we loved that drama especially because of the wacky side characters like the math nerd F4 and also this troublemaker younger bro who's the biggest shipper/cheerleader of the pairing that was his sister and his friend that he already consider his bro in law though the sister liked someone else. (heck even the lead guy-played by Yoon Kye Sang- was a math geek who chose his passion for maths over living as chaebol n lived in poverty with his math geek friend) I remembered when i came across the drama at first, we both thought he was the hero/male lead at first...and that Yoon Kye Sang was just his friend....until we realized Jung Da Bin was the heroine...so this guy can't possibly be the hero...i can't believe 10 years later he's still playing younger bro role. the world is so unfair...new actors/idol actors eventhe ones with horrid acting can easily get lead role while talented ones might not be noticed/getting even one opportunity forever...even for this guy...he's not doing as bad as many others who we probly didn't even had a chance to get to know/recognize....so let's stop saying 'omg oppar is the best actor blabla'...for all you know...you might be making embarrassing statement and your oppar acting might not hold a candle to those unknown actors who never got a chance cuz your oppar had gotten 'em all...for being just average or a lil above average at best...at least this guy still get chances to act continuously even if just as comical side characters.

I'm still shocked at this discovery....i never have thought that he's the one in this band and i've watched this band MV for years. I didn't connect the dots at all.

Watching him sing in Mask Singer...made me so happy...bcuz i could feel his passion in his perf...actually even when i saw it couple months ago....i just watched and thought to myself...'nice perf and this song is nice...gotta go look for the mp3'...i didn't connect the dots.

Watching it again now with all the information revealed...'omg, it's him...how could i not think anything at all...i've known him for probly almost 10 years even if not by name'...

Now i feel like fangirling. lol.

I mean...at least for that one song i love. gonna look for more perf.

leaving you with one.

^ they actually remind me of Led Apple during their debut time, with the whole dance while playing instrument thing...haa.

They debuted in 2000 which means, same year as Chakra. And Country Kko Kko debuted same year as Shinhwa. Mindblown. and watching back music show perfs from back then there were undoubtedly more variety in concepts, genres and also performers in music shows...now it's just mostly idol show with 80% of their music sounding similar to each other anyway T^T...more focus is just on making 'different/messed up' music videos rather than an ounce of thought into the music....if only i had left kpop earlier...i wouldn't have reached to this suffocating phase of kpop and discover the past gloriousness that makes me sad...

So that's one story how music led me to drama to music to wherever...i love that song and the boys were so cute. that's that. On to next story....

I've been keeping tabs a little on dramas too...and particularly got interested in a drama because of the actress. I mean, i have a set of actresses i like (actresses actually play bigger role on my decision whether to watch/get interested in a drama or not, rather than actors tbh)...that would make me want to keep tabs on their projects...and Lee Hana's one of them. idk why or how i became a sort of fan to her. But i did...and even moreso because i keep seeing hate for her. She's not even bad. If the hate goes to someone like...say...Han Gain...i can actually understand bcuz sorry to say her acting is horrible that it often make me want to curse while watching,....idk if it's her or the writing...but when same thing kept occuring to her characters...i'm starting to think that even if it's the writer/director to blame...a good actress would be able to cover the crappiness...but she often make it more noticeable...her characters often go OOC...

Back to Lee Hana, in her dramas i've seen she's decent and even in reviews i barely find harsh criticism...but the comments are always hating on her acting so called....so when she's announced to be in new crime drama, Voice...i was hoping she'd shut them mouths with badassness...and while i'm still not watching it thanks to my poor internet...from what i'm reading and seeing so far...i'm liking her character and her take on it...but people are still ragging on her...and trying to create any reason to insist her acting isn't good...saying she's not emotive and blabla....gladly there seems to be a lot of people starting to see her in good light and defending her acting...i mean, cmon...are you expecting her to be your typical shrilling overreacting noisy heroine? If she did that...you'd stil complaint too....and from what i see so far(or maybe i'm biased)...she's doing fine getting into her character...it's just annoying that there are more ppl who'd defend whenever male lead does overacting but would be quick to jump at the heroines for anything...and sometimes i want to ask them to show what kind of portrayal they're expecting....since everything seems wrong to them but when it's some unnir they like...everything becoames right....it reminds me of Oh My Venus which i find has badly written/acted heroine who's not a tiny bit believable as a lawyer...like there's zero or better yet, negative percentage of professionalism/lawyer-ness she's shown other than preaching about how great she is all the time...n ridiculous plot that feels like...no plot, even the male lead is just a ridiculous character overall(only that, female lead beat him for most ridiculous cuz she keep bragging about how great of a lawyer she is n never did one thing right in professional sense)...it's a torturous watch for sure...but many i've seen proudly call it best drama like whaaat....ok...i know, different people have different taste...but some things are just bad and that's that.

same goes with Boys over Flowers. eek.

Anyway, Voice seems to offer a quiet n focused badass heroine even if not physically(it's rare to get that in kdramaland sadly)...at least she's the badass leader in her department. who seems calm n matured enough to act grown up unlike 90% of kdrama heroines....so i'm looking forward (please don't go ridiculous ooc on me)...i might even end up watching since i doubt it'll be aired here since it's not some overrated hyped  trendy dramas.

Leaving you with some Chakra perfs since like i said...i've uploaded a ton of their perfs...and if you should know something...Chakra is probly one of the most unique/different girlgroups ever graced kpop bcuz of their main concept as Indian pop dance group. They're one of the first gen girlgroups n debuted in 2000. Four members. One member change happened in 2002 as one of their members left the group(the leader actually) n replaced by a new member.

^ first song is their debut title song in 2000. but really...despite being called group with Indian concept...their song n dance and everything is a crazy mix, the song itself sounded more middle eastern than Indian..i'd call everything about their concept/song/choreo/MV a hot mess...but hey whatever, it seemed that people loved it and they won newcomer award with their unique concept. lol.

and they had interesting style too. This outfits particularly made me go...whaat

That's just one of their many interesting outfits. they won style awards too. This song particularly had lots of perfs, from their 2nd album. try to compare with now where all girlgroups just go wearing school uniform of different patterns for every comebacks...

Well, but usually their ethnic title songs will be followed with cutesy followup songs...

like this one...

In their 3rd album, their leader had left the group, and they had a new member to replace the empty spot, and also a change in concept...i guess, though not drastically since they still had Indian(or so they called it) dance concept as followup track/2nd single...

I especially adore this perf(though it's not live and i prefer their live perf as you can watch at the top of this post)

love how they performed their fierce dance in their elegant dresses and jewelries meant for their slower title song.

especially that part: 'so far so good' xD

They actually had a different outfit for the dance song but this was during their comeback stage n probly they don't have time to change/don't have the outfit yet...but they look gorgeous dancing in these outfits methink.

and this...was their title song for final album...

^ not my fav stage outfit(they actually had quite diverse outfits for this song stages) but i just want to share live perf...personally i prefer their wedding | outfit which i've seen they wore twice with slight differences bcuz that's the coolest outfit n style i've ever seen on Hwangbo...badass n cool...while the other members mostly looked sweet...

After this album...Jung Ryeowon left the group to become actress. Hwangbo continued to appear on variety shows, nothing happened to the group,  until they're officially disbanded 1-2 years later. Eun started online fashion mall business n got rich out of it, and married some rich guy too i think. Bona tried her luck in Superstar K2 after some years but did not make it. poor girl, seemed she got stuck in nothingness in the company bcuz of her contract period and they didn't let her release anything after Chakra ended. She was the new member in 3rd album after Eeni left. I actually thought she contributed a lot to vocal quality of Chakra. If you see in the last song, Hwangbo only had rapping part like any standard rapper, but before the last album, Hwangbo actually carried the group vocally. Her voice was the most prominent in their songs and she always sing the chorus n she's also the rapper. Personally i quite like Eeni n her rock-ish tone/way of singing, but i always had a feeling that Ryeowon n Eun weren't quite made for singing, well...eventually they manage to sound decent on live stages(i've only seen their live from 3rd n 4th albums, yet to find any from their first 2 albums)...just that...their voices sound too weak for my taste. Bona was good, she deserved to be appreciated more.

Also, i keep getting annoyed at fans who only ever comment about how much they love Hwangbo or Ryeowon or the standard praises that got nothing to do with the perf in the group videos. I mean...hey...can you see the other two there? i know...it's not their fault they only know the two popular ones. Especially, Hwangbo who gained lots of international fans after being on WGM and you know how annoying WGM fans can get....no offense...i was a WGM fan too....long long time ago. i even knew her through WGM. But if you bother watch their performances, isn't it natural to want to get to know the members? Even a little? rather than just blindly praising your bias and treat the rest as irrelevant backup dancers?

Whenever i think of backup dancers...i think of drama, Over the Rainbow. The love story was super lame but the story about backup dancer crews turned idols was quite interesting and an eye opener...idk why Ji Hyun Woo kept getting idol role when he's originally a rock band guitarist...lol.

Speaking of Ji Hyun Woo, i'd love to see him in drama with Ye Ji Won again as lead couple...well, i don't mind Kim Ji Suk too...lol. or even....

IE001656656_STD.jpg

Yes, Siwan lol.

(but no...what i'll get for Siwan's next drama is Yoona? ugh....sorry if this sound cocky but Siwan deserves better acting partner...T^T...he's still young in acting world n i'd rather he get a senior he could learn from since he seems like a good n eager learner...n i don't just mean senior in years of experience but in how their experience is reflected in their acting...but the cast-well,the main cast of his next drama sound underwhelming and i can safely say i'm not planning to watch it...unless there's dark n evil Siwan, even something like his role in Equator Man would be awesome...actually that's more awesome than flat out evil/bad...because in that drama he's in the transition period between good/neutral to evil...his morally conflicted self n his bordering insanity caused by guilt n fear after he kept doing the wrong thing. I hated him in that drama for some things he did n i love his acting in that drama the most so far from his dramas i've watched/followed)

So random.

Even We Got Married with one of 'em or any would be fine. omg...she'd be hilarious...but wait...is she married? ahh..idk.

Anyway, randomness aside...

here, have a Country Kko Kko song...

still random ey. Maybe not so random...i love how the dancers in their perfs get a chance to get some limelight too...and why does it look like their dances are all choreographed by Shin Jung Hwan the King of funny random dance in variety shows? i'd be more surprised if someone else choreographed them tbh lol...

This was their debut song...omg they're so young...ok maybe not thaaat young...Tak Jae Hoon was 30...Shin Jung Hwan was just 24 here(25 Kr age)...and this was during Shinhwa's debut year too.

so nostalgic especially when remembering them performing it for music bank 400th episode abt 9 years later...

^ somehow i just love how they started their perf with a grand gesture of polite handshake before kicking in the show together...well, it feels grand to me...xD,and their live perf sounded more solid n looked more confident n cool than ever...

Why do they have such awesome title songs? I love most of the singles they promoted and that's rare. Usually i tend to prefer songs not promoted by the singers/idols...but in their case...it's like they know my taste!!! the sounds that work...Now i worry that if i go to South Korea...i might end up buying their albums...lol....someone,save me...~

And before i reaaaaally end this...let's have some more Moonchild...if you're not into Summer Couple...here's a taste of their other music...though it didn't matter...since they only had 2 albums and later on ended up with MC The Max music style anyway...but even in Moonchild, there's hints of that...especially when their ballads seem to rank/chart so much higher than their other songs...that's already a telling sign for their next direction...

^ this one was their debut title song i think...

But all in all...

I still love this one the most. I mean it's cute. (without being annoying or kiddy...but more in that youthful way) how can you not love cute?

ps: and sorry i'm not posting any MC The Max here cuz there's no Heo Jung Min /pouts/ lol. n like i say...i'm not a big fan of serious ballads for most time...n idk their backstory or anything but...is it too much if i wish they'd collab at least for a perf one more time? at least for this cute song? Especially after seeing how spirited dude was in Masked Singer...

Whew...ok the end before i think of something more to spazz about...
