Despite being an only child growing up, Gyura always felt like she had the responsibility to keep either of her parents happy and safe. As her parents worked and lived separately most of the time due to work, Ara would keep their homes clean and spotless for when her parents return home. In the process Ara taught herself how to managed time and became very precise in all that she does. By balancing school work and chores, she would be rewarded with kind and proud remarks from her parents. Like it was at home, Gyura knew that if she did well in school then she could make her parents even happier. Thus in school she was very clever even became a student role model to many of her peers. Gyura was a good listner and very courageous. As a good listener, Gyura was able to help and lend a hand to those around her. Example, if a student behind her is mumbling about being without a pencil or paper, Gyura would offer the student hers. Or if she was leaving a place and heard someone leaving after her, she would have the door open and ready for the one behind her. Being courageous and carefree made Gyura very helpful to many others. Willingly she will offer to help just about anyone. 

Gyura may be very helpful and full of manners, but the lass could be very frank and stubborn as well. It could happen to anyone. If she doesn't like something, she will go out of her way to make sure it's her way or the highway. Gyura has a little bit of OCD in her, she has to repeatedly check things or make sure everything is the way she wants it. Which makes her bossy as she may have to be in control of someone else's actions. However, Gyura is very unpredictable. No one can tell what she may do next. If she's in a good mood, one may not see her bossy or frank side. If she's in a bad mood, she won't even give anyone a moment of her time (though she may be listening and willing to help at anytime. Or in many cases just do everything by herself). Gyura tends to hold grudges and is very unforgiving, she would bring up the past over and over again just to get it off her chest for the time being. Gyura isn't necessarily vengeful, but she will make sure someone knows when they have done her wrong. Loveless, she is far from the loving/romantic type. In life Gyura doesn't seek long term relationships (in other words she's non-commited to another human life, other than her parents). She finds it a burden to go out of her way for someone she doesn't know will be apart of her life forever. However, Ara is and will be faithful to her partner if she ever gets one (this doesn't mean she doesn't have crushes, she's just not for the whole idea of going steady and/or marriage yet). 

BACKGROUND: Born into a stable home, Gyura had everything but siblings. Gyura was born in Seoul but her hometown was in Busan, so she was raised up there. Growing up she would play with her much older cousins when either parties visited one another thus when she started school she was much more mature (because when her older cousins went through puberty, Gyura somehow went through it with them).Gyura's father moved to Japan when she was ten and for five years Gyura would spend every summer in Japan as her mother traveled during that time for work. In Japan Korea Queen of Pop BoA was very popular and many Japanese students got into dancing and singing because of her. Joining the crowd, Gyura thought she was falling for a Japanese star idol, only to discover BoA is Korean. Instantly Gyura wanted to be like BoA, to be able to sing and hit big in multiple countries, speaking multiple languages. She came close to accomplishing her dream when SM scouted her (in 2007, she was 16), though in the end she auditioned for Bloom Entertainment and was accepted into its new girl group Flower Girls. In the industry, Gyura however was more into rapping. She picked up underground rapping out on the streets, some of her favorite Korean rappers are Epik High Tablo & Mithra, 2PM Taecyeon, and Mad Clown.  

After her father hurt his neck and back, he was let go from his job and moved back home to Korea. As a stay-at-home dad, Gyura could see that the man was stressed and depressed from being home all day, thus push him to overcome his disabilities and find a hobby or new job. Fishing made him happier, but with too many catch and not knowing what to do with them, the lad picked up his cooking skills from when he was younger and began cooking for when Gyura or his wife comes home. As they liked his food, he was motivated to open up a small restaurant. His restaurant was a hit in Busan but as Gyura had no intention to learn from her father, he went out and shared his recipes with students who were interested in his dishes then end up being a part-time professor (sometimes teaching students at his own restaurant, during close hours). With her support for her dad, the lad return her kindness and was open to her wanting to become an idol. As for her mom, the lass too supported Gyura as she herself was able to choose her own career without the interference of Gyura's grandparents. When her parents were away, Gyura would be in the care of her grandparents from both sides.

Grade school years - she was very smart and outspoken by her peers and at times even teachers. The girl never backed out of anything she believes is right, until proven wrong. Gyura was well liked and known by her peers and thus became a student role model. 

Middle high school years - Gyura thought she'd become an artist so she joined art clubs and got to learn about certain well known artist outside of Korea. (Her mother is a tourist guide, so through her mother, Gyura was able to get pictures from museums and able to recognize famous artists works. However, during the summer she was more interested in the Japanese art and style during her stay. From canvas, hardcopy work to animation, Gyura admired artist like Hayao Miyazaki (her favorite film "Spirited Away"), Yoaka Amano (Final Fantasy), and Sakimori. 

High school years - It was during her high school days that she started getting into dance, singing, and rapping. Gyura took part in as many talent shows as the school had to offer, performing from dance covers to singing and rapping covers. High school was more competitve, though Gyura maintained high grades, she was more focused on her hobbies and interests. In her 10th year, Gyura was the class president but had to be demoted to vice-president due to her own interest and activities getting in the way. It was then that she got scouted for SM (2006). Gyura graduated in 2008. 

College - Gyura started college in 2010 and did not graduate until 2015. She started school late because she supposed to debut with fx in 2009, but there was an issue with the line-up (which will be explained under trainee life :D)

Plus Hitomi is Japanese so Gyura who speaks and tends to use large Korean words likes to help Hitomi out. Even if it's stealing her lines...) since she'll feel useful and helpful. 
✩ she prays to and thank every higher being for being born a year before Bang Chanmi. Gyura would hate getting and being bullied by her! 
✩ Gyura isn't sure of how to feel about Kim Yisoo.
✩ Gyura tries to be welcoming of carnation but cannot stand her spoiled personality. Carnation's late join-in makes it one of the many reasons why Gyura has a love-hate relationship with their CEO.

FAMILY:

            Because Junchang was never one too strict, Gyura saw how others pushed him around-repeated actions that woke up Gyura's protective side. Most of the time Gyura finds herself pushing her father to the limit as he wasn't as daredevil as she was 

✩ mother - Go Meyra (64) | retired tourist guide | independent, outgoing, faithful, open-minded | close
           Gyura sees her father more than her mother after he was fired, but her mother contacted her more than everyone else put together. Her mother is adaptive to the newer generation and texts Gyura often (nearly everyday even if it's a simple "hi my daughter".) 

✩ grandmother (Junchang's mother) - Go Hwayeon (87) | retired math teacher | kind, agreeable, socialable | close
           as Gyura is Junchang's only child, Hwayeon spoiled her since young. Hwayeon basically raised Gyura as she lived with the family (as Junchang is also an only child). Sometimes Gyura is more comfortable telling her grandmother things she couldn't tell her parents, because her grandma would listen and give her advice. Her grandmother was also someone who always pushed Gyura to be at the top of her math classes, her grandmother would joked that it would be embarassing to her as a math teacher with a granddaughter who doesn't well. That students in Hwayeon's class would not take her seriously if they found out her granddaughter was not good in said subject. [Her husband passed away when Junchang was 25, when Junchang was doing his military services]

           Gyura rarely sees her mother's mother as she lives in Australia. Which was where Gyura's mother jumpstart her tourist career. Gyura has only met Bom a few times, though it was enough to recognize the little lady if they were to meet outside consequetly. Bom is against Gyura becoming an idol as she doesn't think it'll look good for the family (since celebrities love life are often stalk and followed by reporters). 

✩ grandfather (Meyra's father) - Kim Inyoung (85) | retired soldier | harsh, hard to please, stubborn | very distant/strangers
           Gyura has no good memories when it comes to her grandfather. She gets the feeling that he does not care about her existence. The man has never paid her any visits and when Bom is able to get Gyura on the phone, he decline speaking to her at all costs. Til present day, Gyura does not ask about her grandfather despite being urge to call him personally. 

FRIENDS: 

✩ best friend - Shinhye (26) | actress & singer | honest, playful/loves teasing, faithful, hardcore | best of friends
          When Gyura first met Shinhye, she thought the lass was out of her league and was much older. However, once they became co-stars in "You're Beautiful" (2009), though Gyura played minor/background casts, Shinhye approached Gyura first and instantly they clicked and learned they were only a year apart. And though Gyura only played a minor part, she still visited Shinhye and the cast on the set. Shinhye also called and sent Gyura a present on her birthday despite filming for the drama. Though the drama ended they hung out often as they shared many interests. Through many activities, Gyura found Shinhye adorable. The lass acted tough, but at amusement parks Shinhye could not go on a ride without screaming. Like Gyura, Shinhye is also one to take her time when it comes to relationships. So in a way they understand one another.
In 2013 Shinhye was casted as the older character for the lead role in "Miracles in Cell No 7", when the film came out Gyura and Shinhye would rewatch the movie over and over again. Til present day Gyura still claimed MICN7 as her all time favorite film. 
In interviews Shinhye would openly professed her love for Gyura, calling Gyura hers. Then she'd text Gyura asking if she has seen Shinhye's interview. 
Gyura admits she often feels burden when Shinhye's too good to her as she feel she won't be able to measure up to Shinhye's kindness and be able to repay her for all that she's done.

          as co-actresses under SM, Gyura learned a lot from Hyesun who was almost a decade older than her. Because of Gyura's maturity, she and Hyesun gets along and is able to hold decent, deep, and important conversations. Hyesun has claimed that Gyura is one of her favorite dongsaeng as it's easy to get along with Gyura and that Gyura is a great listener. Hyesun also admit, Gyura was one of the few people who knew about Jaehyun and her seeing each other and even plans to marry. Though Hyesun is older, sometimes she feels like Gyura is unnie so would act cute around Gyura.

          Gong Myung is the kind of friend Gyura can comfortably be around, both playfully and seriously. Somehow he always know how to approach her, whether joyfully or carefully. He's also good at pulling Gyura out of a sour mood (his smile just melts her bitter or angriness). Gong Myung is also the person to go to when Gyura wants to watch a chickflick without watching it alone or with someone who would judge the film. He's normally the one to initiate conversation through text or phone calls. Gyura isn't aware but Gong Myung lowkey has a crush on her. And she loves his hugs the best. 
Gyura teases Gong Myung about Jung Hyesung (his wife on "We Got Married") from time to time. Gyura stay up-to-date on each episode and tend to send Gong Myung messages about each episode afterward. 

✩ favorite dongsaeng - Ryu Sujeong (19) | Lovelyz's vocalist | talkative, loudest when it comes to laughs, respectful | sister-hood relationship
          For Gyura who has no younger siblings, Sujeong was the first one out of the many younger stars to have a younger sister feel. Sujeong greeted Gyura at a show once and claim to be a big fan. However their relationship did not pick up until they met outside and Gyura bought Sujeong ice cream. They continue to meet outside, but most of their meetings are short. 

✩ good friends - Kim Jonghyun (26) | Shinee's main vocalist | easy going, friendly, talented | brother-sister relationship
          Gyura often joke and say if she ever goes solo (as an artist) she would have Jonghyun write all of her music, in which he'd always agree. Gyura and Jonghyun has a strong co-worker and siblings bond, any problems Gyura has with SM, she's able to express it to Jonghyun who would comfort her with no questions ask. Gyura calls Jonghyun 'oppa' easily and no one can stop her from calling her senior so.

OTHERS:

          For the most part they get along, however Gyura does have a problem with an inexperienced CEO. As he expects the most of the girls, Gyura expects no mistakes on CEO Park's part as well. At times Gyura likes Chunghee as a person, but not as her boss.

TRAINEE YEARS: eight years (2008 - 2015 @ SM) (2015 - 2016 @ Bloom)
TRAINEE LIFE:  Scouted by SM in 2008, Gyura was more than excited to be house by a company that just debuted rising girl group Girl's Generation and of course BoA. After being scouted Gyura was part of fx lineup but did not make the cut as SM thought she needed more training. In the end Sulli was added to fx official member and Gyura was left to debut with Red Velvet. Gyura signed a contract with SM and was persuaded to become an actress instead as RV was not meant to debut until 2014. Gyura decided to go back to school as she was not given much activities, until her first appearance in TVXQ's MV (2011). Finally her first bigger project was "Reply 1994" in 2013 and Woollim Tasty's MV. She then took her first major lead role in 2014 "You're All Surrounded" alongside Lee Seunggi. SM did not want Gyura's acting career to be washed over by an idol image, so in the end did not include Gyura in RV's lineup. Finally in 2015 she appeared on Kyuhyun's MV as lead actress. In the same year her contract with SM ended and so she also left the company to sign under Bloom as a kpop idol in the making. 

Despite being an actress, Gyura did not give up her dream on becoming an idol. She even went to America and trained for a while (regarding dance) as she wanted to expand her moves.

         Lately f(x) former member Sulli has been gaining a lot of attention through her social media posts, including photos of her in her under wear and even without any covering. However with her recent post followed by the caption "Should have stayed an actress" under a photo of her smiling happily with bright red lipstick, a handful of netizens has picked up on who she may be referring to. It was well known back then that Gyura was an up and coming runner of f(x) but did not debut. Instead she was turned into an actress, meanwhile Sulli who preferred acting instead became a member of f(x). Sulli, however, left the group in 2015.
