     • Greek / Atalanta is the name of a mythical greek heroine. also, atalanta really, really, really loves greek mythology, especially since her mom is greek. and there's that expression that's like "It's all greek to me" or whatever, and half the time no one understands what she's saying because she uses too many intellectual words or whatever so her friends call her that
     • jade / only her chinese friends that know a bit of english call her this. her chinese name, yu (玉) means jade in english, so they call her that.

( style ) : Atalanta is definitely a tomboy, though she does have a few girly aspects. She likes to wear necklaces, for example, and occasionally bracelets (but they usually get in the way of her writing or doing things, so she doesn't often wear them). She doesn't particularly like dresses but will wear them if they're of a decent length and not too racy, but only for formal events and such. Atalanta prefers t-shirts and jeans/shorts with sneakers, but occasionally, she'll dress up in all black when she skateboards to mess with people's minds lmfao. Roo ri is constantly trying to get her to wear more feminine clothes but she refuses. Atalanta ABHORS high heels and makeup. Makeup makes her face feel trapped and high heels just naturally kill her feet. Like, why. She's perfectly fine with her height.

       "Stop being so damn logical. You make me feel like a horrible person for not seeing both sides of the situation." -- Xu Minglei | Atalanta is the type of person who will always keep a secret for you, no matter what, unless it harms them or someone else. She tries to do the right thing most of the time. She's extremely intelligent as a student and is in love with math and chemistry and history and is very quick-thinking in tight situations. For example, if she's called to say the principal's office, and she's berated for something she didn't do (which surprisingly happens a lot), she uses her logic to prove that she didn't do it. She probably could've become a lawyer but she has no interest in that. Anyway, Atalanta's also very independent, as she has her own job and lives away from her parents and doesn't need others to take care of her, though it'd be nice to be able to rely on someone else from time to time-- but I guess that's what a soulmate is for. Also, Atalanta's the type of person to not look caring at all, but she's really loyal to those she cares about deep down. She just shows her affection in a sort of backwards way.
       "Dude, you've got to stop being so rude." "What rude? I'm telling the truth." -- a real life conversation between Minghao and Atalanta | Atalanta is naturally honest by nature and doesn't have much concern for other's feelings. She doesn't sugarcoat the truth and just states it right out loud. Of course, she knows when to say certain things and when not to, but when she says something, it's blunt and straight to the point, which sometimes hurts others. She's also really sarcastic, which is a reason why she and Roori get along. Atalanta's temper is also something not to contend with. She gets angry easily when someone says something unjust/racist/ist/etc and then often gets violent. Like, not punch you in the nose violent, but she'll walk past and "accidentally" push the person HARD into a wall or knock them over and just walk away. The fact that she's also socially awkward adds to the reasons why she doesn't have a lot of friends. Like, people sometimes think she's actually kinda mental because she knocks people over without apologizing, has no filter, and doesn't like to talk. 
      "Lighten up a little! You know you need to eat, right? You haven't eaten in hours!" "Mhm... yeah... go ask Minghao." "What?" -- another real life conversation between Roori and Atalanta | Even though Atalanta gets angry easily, she forgives minor offenses quickly (but she doesn't forget), so she doesn't stay angry often. She's also extremely focused when she gets into things, which is the COMPLETE opposite of Roori, who's mind flits away every two seconds. The two get in a lot of playful arguments about that. But anyway, that's also a reason why they get along. The thing is, when Atalanta is focused on something, like figuring out a tough chem problem, she forgets everything else and only focuses on that with a vague sense of what's going on around her. Roori is a good person to have around at that time because she's one of the few people that can shake Atalanta out of that phase. Atalanta's also kinda OCD-- all her school notes are in perfect order, her handwriting is really neat, and the only things out of order in her room are her music sheets, which are scattered everywhere. She's good at cleaning up other's messes. Atalanta hates puns as well. If anyone makes a pun, she kinda gets that look where it's like your soul just floats out of your body forever, and then she'll groan and hit the person that made the pun. Atalanta's also a complete savage when it comes to her friends and family. Like I said, she has no filter, and is the type of casual savage that roasts you right as she walks by then keeps walking like a bad b*tch. Lmfao.

( background ) : Atalanta's parents met in college, then stayed in Athens for a while and had a set of guy twins and then Atalanta. All the kids are named after Greek heroes. It's terrible for Perseus, so everyone just calls him Percy. The other twin bro is called Jason, so that's alright. They all moved to Hong Kong, their father's hometown, when Percy and Jason were 10 and Atalanta was 8. Atalanta was named Atalanta because her mom wanted her to become brave and rather a feminist kinda like the original Atalanta was, and she lived up to expectations. With two boys in the house, she grew up just like them. Atalanta always wanted to go to Korea because she loved K-pop, and hey, her dad was half Korean. So she got into Seoul National University and went for college with a scholarship. However, her mom fell sick with cancer in her first year, and her dad didn't have a lot of money to cover the hospital bills. That's why Atalanta abstained from going home that year and instead worked as many jobs as she could. Jason and Percy did their best as well. When Atalanta found out about this Disneyworld at Jeju, she didn't hesitate to apply, seeing the salary. She misses her family, but has little choice if she wants her mother to survive.

• she plays piano, violin, and used to play flute but kinda just keeps it around for fun now, it's not serious

• atalanta will literally eat just about anything. she loves food. don't judge.
• roori is always trying to get atalanta to go shopping with her and atalanta's always like "No stop torturing me" but roori always drags her out anyway
• atalanta and roori have this little tradition where roori always gets atalanta a necklace for her birthday and atalanta always gets roori a bottle of nice perfume for her birthday
• hates: bugs, cockroaches esp, dolls, horror stuff, ignorant prats

• no one's seen her like this not even roori or her family but a from time to time atalanta has little mental breakdowns where she just shuts herself in her dorm room and cries for an hour and then comes out looking completely normal

• so her scar comes from getting scratched by a tree branch... she was climbing a tree when she was young and a branch scratched her as she was going up... it's embarrassing and roori still hasn't gotten the secret out of atalanta
• atalanta spends a lot of time observing people and making her judgments about them before attempting to talk to them and get to know them slightly better and then fails while trying to talk
• shhhh don't tell anyone but atalanta gets really shy around cute/good-looking boys 
• atalanta loves skateboarding, tennis, and hapkido/wushu
• atalanta loves wearing all-black or all dark colors whens she goes skateboarding because it makes people think she's like a badass/bad girl type thing when in reality she isn't. she just likes messing with them
• her dream is to meet one of her favorite kpop groups
• she secretly loves to sing and likes to dance a bit but I mean only her bros and roori know and they've been promised death if they tell anyone so it's not like they would say anything
• her paternal grandmother lives in Jeju so atalanta stays with her during summer break when she has her job-- she's picked up a little bit of jeju satoori but isn't great at it

• mom ; housewife ; Ariadna Alexiou ; 51 years old ; Ariadna was like the mom everyone wanted-- cheerful, understanding, etc. But then she got sick. Even with cancer, she does her best to keep everyone happy when they're able to talk. She and Atalanta aren't as close as Atalanta is to her father, but they're still on good terms.
• dad ; math professor ; Ming Haowen ; 52 years old ; Haowen is the more stoic, stricter kind of dad. He cares a lot for the kids and his wife, but like Atalanta, shows it in a more backwards way. He and Atalanta are extremely close though because of their similar interests and personality. 
• older bro ; studying architecture ; Jason Ming ; 21 years old ; Jason is the creative, 4D brother. He loves drawing and painting and thus chose to study architecture. He isn't great at the math but still understands it enough. He and Atalanta banter a lot when they get together.
• older bro ; studying classical history ; Perseus (Percy) Ming ; 21 years old ; out of all her family members, Atalanta is undoubtedly closest to Percy. He was the one who taught her all the "boy" stuff, like climbing trees, racing, etc. He's surprisingly good at academics, despite his wild nature, and he used to help Atalanta out with history. They contact each other the most.

• best friend ; actor ; Park Hyungsik ; 25 years old ; Atalanta didn't know who Hyungsik was, which is why they became friends. Atalanta was just sitting in a crowded cafe, trying to finish a paper, and he asked if he could sit with her because everywhere else was full. She just gave a harried nod and kept typing. When she finished, she still didn't recognize him and just started chatting, and they became friends.
• best friend ; student ; Kang Roori ; 18 years old ; Roori's the only reason why Atalanta even gets out of the college campus, to be honest. She drags Atalanta out shopping, and all they do is banter, banter, and more banter. Atalanta isn't full-out insulting to Roori, though, because she's kinda emotional, but they both call each other deprecating names and laugh about it.
• friend ; student ; Chwe Hansol ; 18 years old ; Because Hansol is Roori's friend and seatmate, Atalanta obviously would have to meet him. They're friends but not best friends but they're on good terms with each other. Honestly, Hansol's a bit scared of Atalanta.
• best friend ; studyiing acting ; Xu Minglei ; 19 years old ; Minglei is the sister of Xu Minghao, one of the most popular guys on campus. Minglei and Atalanta are best friends in the way that they can insult each other SO BADLY and then laugh about it. People don't understand why they're friends, honestly, because they spend time ripping each other apart with their savagery. They're dormmates too.
• good friend ; studying marine biology ; Xu Minghao ; 19 years old ; Minghao is actually the reason why Atalanta and Minglei met. He and Minglei were walking around, talking, and he saw Atalanta and called her over. So the two girls hit it off. Atalanta likes having Minghao around because he's not one of those so-full-of-themselves populars. He still works hard and does his best to succeed.

( ah, nice to meet you! so, what job are you applying for and why? ) : I'm applying for the waitress job! I need a job because I have ah... financial issues... yeah... and I can easily get to Jeju in the summer, so this job is good for me.
( so, what qualities do you think you posses that makes you qualified for this job? ) : Well, I have a good memory. A waitress needs to remember or at least have a vague idea of who ordered what, even if they wrote it down, right? You can call me arrogant but I know my memory's good. I also have very neat handwriting, which is probably good because people need to be able to read what I write down. Also, I've got a good sense of balance so I hope I won't drop anything??? Yeah. I hope I don't drop anything. *looks down, embarrassed*
( what are you opinions on kids? ) : *short pause* I'm alright with them? I mean, I don't go out of my way to be friends with them or to get them to like me, but I can tolerate them, and they usually tolerate me. As long as they're not rude brats, I'm okay.
( and why do you need this job? ) : I have financial issues, like I said... a family member of mine is... sick. I need money to pay for myself and their hospital bills. *bites lip and looks down*

      •  Jun meets Hyungisk and gets kinda jealous until Atalanta tells him that Hyungsik already met his goddamn soulmate
