being an amateur model for ace fashion has it's benefits (well, depending on how you look at it.) yeseul's mom has her daughter on a pretty strict diet (and it's the only thing she will relentlessly enforce on her precious daughter), one that is occasionally sabotaged by yeseul's guilty pleasure for hot cheetos and ice cream. but that doesn't mean it's completely unsuccessful - yeseul is long and thin, but she doesn't look lanky, she looks slim and fit. she says she could care less about what she looks like, but she's secretly glad her mom puts her on a diet because she loves feeling healthy and having that bit of freedom when she goes out to eat.
despite anything, though, she holds her head high and flaunts her long legs as she struts down the hall. she's admired for her perfectly rounded face, her plump lips, the "million-dollar dimple" on her right cheek, and her long, slender limbs that only compliment her striking visuals. yeseul's face emanates the boldness of her personality, as she applies clean, defined makeup that brings out her facial features - chestnut brown eyes, light brown, chest-length hair, a rounded nose, and flawless brows.

yeseul's style is very chic and minimalistic, but it's enough to keep her looking classy. she loves being comfortable in what she's wearing, which means none of that sparkly, animal fur crap. she doesn't like flaunting her wealth, anyways, and she rarely ever shops at big department stores - generic brands are just fine for her. yeseul has a quite conservative personality in general, and it shows in her style - she never wears skirts and she rarely wears shorts and she just doesn't show lots of skin in general. her style isn't necessarily accepted by her mother, especially on her 'rest days', but she holds it in as long as yeseul keeps up the diet. no one sees her. she's fed up - not believing her parents when they say everything is for her, in disbelief of the fake try-hards at school. she's suffering - wanting to find her own identity, crying herself to sleep.
yeseul is very charming. she's untouchable, spending a majority of her day with an expression that resembles a rbf, seemingly breezing through her classes, not contending with any of the lowly aejung students. but she has a personality - she has a sense of humor, she has opinions, she has feelings. there's so much more to her that only a select few (the inner circle) know. aejung's silver spoon, resident model, sacred student - yeseul is infamous for being the most pure student on campus. she makes sure her parents never complain or bribe the school and her good grades are achieved solely through her own smarts. it's hard for her to get (public) hate when she seems so perfect, but - surprise, surprise ! it's not like that at all. yeseul sees herself as far from perfect - her biggest hater is probably herself. her parents constantly baby her and give her everything they think she wants and needs, so she's built a habit to push herself to extents they never will. all this self-attack yeseul does tires her out, both mentally and physically, but life has taught her to hide it well. she doesn't fake her manners or compassion, but she tries her best to hold in comments she deems unnecessary in order to avoid drama, namely with the golden circle, whom she undoubtedly believes is aejung's very own representation of the world's corrupted society. the relief and freedom she feels when she's with the inner circle is tremendous - she can finally kick back, say every sarcastic comment she wants to say, express (almost) every bottled up feeling she has.

yeseul's a simple girl from a simple background - november 22, 1998. a silver spoon is born in san francisco under the name estelle yeseul min. her tremendously rich family has always stuck out like a button in the vibey city - yeseul might love the relaxed people in sanfo, but her "conservative" parents are quite uncomfortable in such a liberal world. they stick to the much more city-like parts of san francisco, the areas that match their clean and classy style. ace fashion is a formal attire clothing brand, currently only available for women. yeseul's mom has founded it long before yeseul was born, so the girl finds herself being born into prom dresses and wedding gowns. as a little elementary schooler, she modeled in children's catalogues for the 'ace kids line' and garnered attention through her pictures - growing up, all the way until middle school, yeseul received many job offers as a model, but she rejected them, liking the carefree, unofficial vibe of simply helping out mom sometimes. yeseul's mom took great advantage of her daughters carefreeness and was set on making yeseul a star - her star. she came out with a line solely dedicated to her daughter, but it didn't go well with the public. the designs differed from ace's usual quality, and customers were threatening to abandon their loyalty. yeseul's mom ditched the idea of an estelle season, but it didn't faze her. instead, she became more involved with her daughter, wondering how the feedback was affecting her - and thus started the extreme concern towards yeseul. yeseul's mom became a fool for her daughter, blinded by the success she imagined she could achieve through this mother/daughter duo. yeseul's dad got in on it, too, through the way his wife would brag so much about what yeseul had done today or what grade she got on her test or how another company offered her a modeling job. he had always been busy at work, striving for that promotion, so he simply took his wife's words for what they were. unknowingly, he started falling into the same trance - bragging about his daughter and all her accomplishments. there were many to brag about, anyways, but yeseul was very nonchalant to it all - yet neither of her parents seemed to notice her soulless reactions to her own achievements.
yet when it comes to accomplishments, aejung was a prominent name. high school approached, and yeseul's parents debated sending her to an elite private school, but when her dad's promotion came, along with a full ride to seoul, her parents grabbed at the chance to send their daughter to aejung - and this they did. estelle min was enrolled at aejung, and there was where her personality was truly developed. she had always been super indifferent about her wealth, having had a small handful of good people around her in america who didn't really care about her money and just thought she was "a cool kid, you know?" but come korea, everyone around her was so fake and consumed by money and their image - she was surprised, of course, but also mature enough to not let it get to her and simply understand. from this quiet surprise bloomed the silence that enveloped much of yeseul's image at aejung, as well as the feelings she started to bottle up, only releasing it around the inner circle, whom she truly sees as her life savior.

sungjin won't hesitate when it comes to the question "do you love your daughter", but if anyone asks why, he'll have to stop and think. luckily, no one asks him. sungjin has always just taken his wife's words for granted and never really looked into yeseul's achievements in life - not that there was anything to suspect, he just found that he didn't really have the energy to care about anything other than the fact that his daughter was great. to be quite honest, he doesn't really care about anything but work. yeseul barely interacts with her father - they're at a level of respect more than anything - she greets him as she goes to and fro from home, he ruffles her hair and gives her presents when she does well, she smiles, uncomfortable, thanking him. the only crack in their "perfect" image is when things happen at aejung and sungjin gets concerned that it'll affect his precious daughter. he'll consistently nag at her about how he should say something, even a little thing to the school, and she'll bring out her stubborn side, expressing her want to be independent, and sungjin will back down at insistent remarks from hs wife about how yeseul's skin will get wrinkly from stress.

aesook is definitely the bigger 'ddal babo' out of the two - she tends to spin up stories about her daughter that are greater than what actually happened and she's constantly bragging about yeseul to her friends (who just have to accept it because aesook is the richest out of them all). yeseul knows her parents love her, but it's such a shallow love, especially with her father. her mother, however, is someone yeseul can admit to a closer bond with. she's quite concerned about yeseul's life and makes sure her daughter's doing well, but while it's shallow, yeseul loves the moments where aesook won't be as about yeseul's diet and her image and the family's image and acts like an actual mom - asking how her day was, going on shopping dates with her, etc. it's a nice period of time, but at the end of the day, yeseul realizes the affection is empty and aesook doesn't even know what she's in love with.

with always a bare minimum of $1000 on her, at least 7 credit cards by the age of 9, hundreds of connections to bigshot companies who turn into sniveling dogs at her feet, yeseul is pretty high up there on the no fcks given level tyvm. her dad has worked his way up in a worldwide hotel chain, becoming ceo of the seoul based chain, and he has connections varying from celebrities to big, international brands to even government officials. yeseul's mom is founder, ceo, and main designer of ace fashion, an internationally-recognized brand that sells formal dresses, be it for prom, weddings, business gatherings, etc. she also works with many celebrities and big clothing brands, and yeseul's grown up seeing people she calls 'uncle' on tv and in the news, getting $500 in allowance weekly as an elementary schooler, and getting anything and everything she wants.
while yeseul doesn't flaunt her wealth as much (or even as close to as much) as her classmates, it's impossible to completely hide. through her gold iphone 11 pro, her never un-manicured nails, her instagram updates of exotic vacation places, and the rare pieces of clothing she owns that everyone knows is designer and super expensive, yeseul showcases just how much money she has. she may not say it with her own mouth, but everyone knows.
school life — yeseul is, as you might have realized by now, quite well known in aejung. it's a sort of infamy - she's known as the kindred spirit to some, a cold persona to others, and to still others, a sarcastic wooden skewer for roasting marshmallows. ultimately, she doesn't really talk, but she garners admiration for her beauty, her pure intelligence, her clean record. most of the teachers admire her smarts and her chic persona and have the desire to be the one teacher that sticks out to her, the one who can proudly say "i had min yeseul in my class". alas, none of them have achieved that goal yet, since yeseul feels the same way about the teachers at aejung as she does the students, which is not caring.
in class, she looks like she's not paying attention - and sometimes she isn't. she'll doodle, write random phrases, scrawl her signature everywhere. but due to her so-called rbf, the teachers don't find a strong urge to call on her. most of aejung actually seems sort of...scared of yeseul. she's so quiet and mysterious and no one knows what to make of her. the only crack they see in her personality is when she gives a freshman the actual right directions or when she earnestly apologizes to scholarship boy for bumping into him. yet none of that is bad. none of anything she does is really bad, so no one feels comfortable openly hating on yeseul. estelle yeseul min is untouchable, and she wants to keep it that way.
