Hey guys! I know this might be a really weird topic for a blog but it was very interesting so I’m deciding to share it with all of you. Today is…. World Toilet Day! I know, it seems pretty hilarious right? But it’s actually a very serious and sad topic, because it supports the need for people all around the world to have basic sanitation.

Did you know that there are more than 2 billion people on this planet who don’t have access to basic sanitation? Or that 1 in 10 of people on this planet have no other option but to defecate out in the open? Or that diarrhea  is the world’s second largest killer after drugs and the world’s largest killer for children and that the primary cause for this are due to infections from lack of sanitation?  It’s sad to think that there are so many people out there that are deprived of this basic human right and then I got really ashamed of myself, thinking about how I take water and a toilet for granted.

Anyway, so the whole point of this day is to try to raise money to support an organisation that will go out there to the countries where people have no sanitation, and build wells for them, as well as taps and a sewage system. It may not be the same for all you around the world, but here in England, the day is remembered on the 19th of November.
