Girls' Generation's 'Into The New World' rises suddenly to #1 on music charts
Girls' Generation's debut single, "Into The New World," that was released back on August 3, 2007, has suddenly risen to #1 on the music charts.
With the scandal involving the Korean president (read more about that here), University students from around the nation gathered and protested, blasting "Into The New World" from their speakers.

With this, the nearly 10-year-old song received a sudden surge in downloads and placed #1 on Melon's real-time charts.
As the song talks about sadness with obstacles away on the road into a new world, you can see why the protesters selected this song as a rally-cry.
