Experimental Feature: User Feeds + Chapter Trigger Warnings
Ever want to post something short on here but it felt like writing a new blog post seemed too formal for it? Or how about wanting to reach out to people subscribed to you as an author, blogger, and to friends all together? The user feed was made to solve those problems. You can follow someone's feed by clicking on the "Follow feed" button on their profile and you are also automatically subscribed to someone's feed when you use the "Follow stories" and "Follow blogs" buttons as well as when you make a new friend.
I've been wanting to make it over the years mostly to solve the first problem for myself but I had a tough time figuring out the best way to architect something like this since it can potentially use up a lot of server resources. Someone made this feature suggestion again in the comments of my previous blog post so I decided to try and make it once and for all and see what happens. This feature is still experimental though because I have no idea how much resources it will use and I won't find out for a few weeks to months. In the meantime, I hope you guys enjoy it!
Update: I managed to tack this on an hour after I first wrote this blog post but you can now also mark individual chapters with a trigger warning without having to mark the whole story. I hope at least some of you will find this useful.
