Q&A 3

AleseElaine

"I have to ask are you planning on writing anymore stories for any other Got7 members?"

-I guess by now I've already answered this question when I published Reckless Endangerments lololol. So, yes. I am going to write another got7 fic about Jaebum looooll. I'm most likely going to write more ones of them in the future. I want to write a Jinyoung fic but I don't have any plot for him yet.

"I was wondering why Mark avoided the swimming team when he first met Jackson? Like, nobody ever cared about him, why would he even hide his appearance from them? It wouldn't matter anyway? Did he do it because of Jackson and his reputation maybe? It's just something I had on my mind for a while now ^^"

-There are a few ways to think of it. One is that Mark just doesn't like people. Jackson and Mira were an exception, he 'saw' something in them that he didn't see in other university kids. Another possibility is that Mark doesn't want people to remember him. The saying goes that you hide in plain sight and that's what he's been doing. He wants an education but also he's blending in with students as another faceless one. By running into Jackson's friends, that's another group of people that will remember and recognize him. The important thing about the their friendship is that Mark liked them so much that he was willing to risk everything to get to know them more. If Jaebum and the team saw him there and learned that he would be timing Jackson, they'd remember him and notice when he's gone. Mark only wants meaningful people to remember him. Another way to look at it is that Mark knew exactly who Jackson was because Mira told him about her past with Jaebum and he then kept his eye on the swim team and befriended Jackson but wanted nothing to do with Jaebum,

"What grade are you in?"

            -I'm in university

SONE-XOTIC

"Where do you get your inspiration for all of these unique stories?"

-Everywhere. Film, tv, mv's, books. I see something and think "but wouldn't it be more interesting if xyz happened differently?" Usually it takes one small aspect to trigger a new idea for me.

"How much planning do you put in before writing?"

-I'd say quite a lot. While one story is ongoing, I'll be adding to another story. I don't really have an organized way to go. Whenever I think of something interesting or a scene that will work with the story, I'll type it out. It's a mish mash of different bits and pieces. I think Chasing Rainbows had the least amount of notes ahead of time but that's probably bc the story was shorter. My stories change a lot so I'll add aspects while I'm writing or scrap a scene I had already written out bc it didn't match with the way the story was playing out.

how satisfied are you with your own stories?

-omg. this is a tough question. I think I'm pretty satisfied but there are def times when I just sigh and feel bad about my work. I'll ask myself why I even bother trying and I won't understand how anyone could like my work bc I think it's that bad. Or when I read novels or other fics and realize their writing is so much better than mine, I feel like a lost cause. But it's an age old tale that you shouldn't compare yourself bc there will ALWAYS be someone better and more talented. But I'll toot my own horn when I say I am really satisfied with CoutingBrokenHymns and RulesOfDeduction.

are you proud of your stories and/or your growth as an author?

-I am definitely proud of my growth as an author. Home was tragic in my opinion. I didn't take it that seriously but with every story I write, I notice a large shift in my skill and the narration. I think I'm at the stage where I'm always growing so it's nice to see that. I'd say that I'm very proud of my stories despite them being good or not bc it took a lot of effort and dedication and tbh I'm not super dedicated at things. I'm quick to give up. So it's a personal victory with each completed story.

missvilla

"Any particular reason you don't feature explicit in your fics?"

-Not really? I think it's bc I don't really find it vital in the story. Unless the story revolved around a character who was afraid of or something, I don't it's needed in my stories. Also I'm so self aware when I write that I'd feel so awkward writing it. It'd end up being really vague. I think instead of people feeling hot and heavy when reading it, they'll probably end up crying bc I have a way of turning everything into angst.

"I know you've mentioned stories/plot lines you gave up on in the past. Are there any that you wanna give a second crack at?"

-Not really only because I technically already have, I just re-vamp it. I deleted Christmas With the Exes but then worked parts of it into Chasing Rainbows. Black Bird and Raised By Wolves were deleted but I mixed bits of it into CBH. So I wouldn't want to take a second crack at them bc they'd end up being repetitive or too similar to stories I already wrote. But one thing that I've been feeling is a sequel to TOO. I was against the idea at first but I was at the mall when a small idea for a potential plot came to mind. I really don't want to revisit a supernatural universe again, esp since it's been nearly 2 years. But it's there in the depths of my mind.

adelliew1919

"Any plan that you will start the next fics for us?"

-Yes! I already posted the Jaebum fic but after than I have plans for another story but I don't want to give anything away just because I don't know if it's going to happen for sure or not so I don't want to get ppl's hopes up by giving away genres or the idols.

msjongintuan0414

"My question would be are you going to post a new story after this one? And if you are, can you tell us who will be in it? I would really love another Wonho fanfic, I haven't seen much here and I keep re-reading CBH."

-I'm sure by know you know it's Jaebum lolool. I also want to write a Wonho fic. 100% I will be doing it in the future, I just need to figure out a story for him.

inspirit7ifnt

"Question (all related to writing process haha)~ What was the hardest scene to write out of all your fics?"

-Scenes were nothing happens. Like just transition scenes or filler scenes where not plot or anything happens. Sometimes you just need it to make sure the story isn't too rushed but it's super hard to write bc it just feels like you're writing nothing.

"Which scene is your favorite moment from all your fics (or a top 3 or 5?)?"

-Come Back Home: Luhan talking with Meihui

-Come Back Home: Eun Ah at the bar talking with Minseok for the first time.

-Armed and Dangerous: When Sang Hee goes "crazy" all those scenes when she's evil were so much ing fun

-RoD: When Saera was kidnapped and in the house with Sang Min and her dad. All those scenes were fun. And the scene when the lyrics from Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien were used.

            -CBH: the gala

JanethNerd

"What's your favourite type of story genre to write? :3"

-Action because I get so nervous writing stories like CBH and CR bc I always worried that I'm romanticising trauma. So I stress about that so I try to stay away from that bc I don't want to end up falling into that category of  "romance fixes mental illess/trauma" I want to write about those topics but bc I'm not too familiar with them, I worry about misrepresenting them. Plus I just enjoy action more.

bestie_luv_u

"Q&A: What kind of a person are you like in real life?"

-I don't know how to answer this haha. I'm a weird mix like Mira. It's not that I have a huge life trauma or anything but I'm a mix of an introvert and extrovert. I prefer to be an introvert but I know how to fake it when I'm need to, but it feels awful. I have social anxiety so I hate meeting new people and having them judge me or have them get a lasting first impression of me that I might not feel like represents who I really am. I also have trouble looking people in the eye when I talk to them for the same reason. But at the same time, I like being around friends and cracking jokes. I'm pretty low motivated. I'd say I'm pretty funny lolol. I don't really know what else to say.

Also What's your inspiration behind all the stories you have written?

-I feel like I don't have a single inspiration, it comes from all mediums. Anything that gives me an idea becomes an inspiration. I think bc I'm so introverted, I spend a lot of time in my own mind, thinking, so ideas come like that.

friedtofus

Q&A: Is there a reason why you choose using OC (not actual female idol)?

-it's more fun to write an OC and create something from scratch. I also feel like it'll be harder to immerse readers into the fictional world when there are two idols. I also write more for the literary aspect instead of the fanservice aspect so I enjoy writing things from scratch and my own imagination. Idols have their signature personalities ie Krystal being the 'cold princess' so sometimes I feel limited by the perception my readers might have of the real idol. It's already hard to get people to overlook that perception with one idol character, it'll be harder with two. It was so hard to get people to understand that the Namjoon in CBH was different than the real life Namjoon. It was like people were offended that I made him play the antagonist even though it wasn't like I honestly believed that the real Namjoon was a drug addict suffering from affluenza who abused people.

samasbananas

"Here's a question for the Q&A; How do you feel about the new GOT7 comeback?"

-I wasn't a huge fan of the title track. I really like the chorus when the beat dropped but I wasn't really into it. There were a few scenes in the MV I liked but overall I wasn't feeling that as much as their old MVs either. But for the first time ever I was in love with their side tracks which were both ballads. I don't listen to a lot of G7's side tracks esp ballads but Prove It and Let Me might be G7's best songs ever.

"What helps you get into the mind set to write angsty scenes?"

-Angst actually comes pretty easy to me. I don't really need to get into the mindset but it helps when it's silent, usually I'll have a YT video playing in the background when I write, but for angst it helps if it's silent. I also like writing at odd hours at night like 2AM but that only works during holidays lolol I have school now so I don't get that luxury. Music sometimes helps. It helped more when I first started writing than it does now.

"Would you ever consider turning one of your fanfictions into a novel? (I know that when I was reading this and your other fanfictions that I was picturing it like a movie in my head. I think your writing would translate well into a novel/film)"

-I'd love that. I really want to get something of mine published. It's a goal but I'm still growing and learning as a writer. I'm more or less teaching myself how to write bc I'm by no means a literature aficionado nor am I an English student either. So as much as I'd love publishing a book that gets adapted into a movie or tv show, I want to keep polishing my skills until something I really like comes out.

sparqles

"q&a: can u make this story as longer as the only or rod?"

-nope. that's not how it works. This story is kinda weird in the way and genre that it was written in. I wanted it to be short bc it gives a lot of room for the reader to fill in parts of the story that didn't get a lot of detail. People wanted to know more about their friendship and it would be easy to add more about it but I want ppl to imagine what their friendship was like. How they hung out. What they did. I want my readers to come up with their own inferences and theories bc in this story, unless it contradicts something I've already written, anything can be the right answer. Someone once asked me if it was possible that Jaebum might be biual or that Mark was in love with Mira. There is no right or wrong answer. Both those things could be possible bc nothing concrete in the story proves it wrong. Jaebum never said he was straight. And the only person who was positive that their friendship was platonic was Mira, we never hear how Mark honestly, truly felt about her. Now, that doesn't mean that he loves her and it doesn't mean that Jaebum is really biual, but it means that it's entirely possible if that's what you want bc there is nothing saying that it's not true just as there is nothing saying that it IS true.

"If I may ask, where'd did you get an idea like this? I find it so beautiful and well done, unique story line, this is movie material. So, what inspired you to write something like this?"

-I actually used my philosophy notes from high school lolol. I also used bits and pieces from one of my old fics that I deleted. I wish I had an answer. I actually really struggled with writing this story. I think I was just inspired to write a story where there was a character that all my readers believed was alive and have them be dead all along. I've never killed off a character like that before, esp one everyone likes/was rooting for.

sidnerella

"Oh I have a question! I have read most of your stories and I really admire you the depth of your characters and how you make them the opposite of a flat character. I was wondering what you do before you start writing in order to create such round characters and keep their personalities so solid throughout the story. Do you make charts? Lists? Or is it just a natural talent?"

-I don't keep a chart, but I start the story by giving my leads REALLY superficial character tropes. (Mira was the weird, crazy, hot undergrad and Jackson was swim team captain/playboy//Yena was the timid housewife and Wonho was the easy going mechanic//Saera was the eccentric liar and Mark was the by the book cop) it's easy to slap these shallow labels on them bc I KNOW going into the story that this isn't them. There is more to them, they have their secrets or their pasts, so as a writer, knowing that there is more to the character helps me write them, esp when I know something that the readers don't know yet. That way it's easy to set up little things that, over the course of the story, help build the character. It was easy for me to make Mira the way that she was bc the entire time writing, I knew what her past was and same goes for Mark and Jackson. You start with this generalized rock  and you just chip away until you have the core of the person and each chapter or every few chapters, you chip off a piece. I think that's why it's important not to play all your cards at once. If I revealed everything about Mira from the first or second chapter, she would have nowhere to really show growth, readers would have a hard time really feeling for her. What's better is if they grow an attachment or fondness over a character for realizing "oh , they had all this baggage the whole time"

kaysur

Do you have plans for another project?

Yes! And I'm sure you know what it is now ; )

axsyah

"Who's your favourite antagonist and your least favourite protagonist of your story ?"

-Fave Antagonist would be Sang Min from RoD

-Least Fave Protagonisht would be Eun Ah bc she is one of my earlier characters and I still hadn't learned how to properly create a character. I didn't really like the way I wrote her at first bc that's when I took the story as a joke and didn't really write it seriously.

"Which story took you the hardest time to write ?"

-Chasing Rainbows because I was trying out this new genre and I was basically trying it out as I went

"Will you be continuing raised by wolves ? Because the first few chapters of it still fresh on my mind and still got me thinking at some random occasion."

            -No

A/N:

Thanks so much for everyone who participated <3333
