PERSONALITY:
NOTHING'S GONNA BRING ME DOWN. Daebak is the kind of guy to go for whatever he wants. He strongly believes that everyone can achieve what they dream of as he's used to people getting succesfull because of skills and years and years of training, not because of connections, enterprise names etc. He is uneblievable naive in that sense and he doesn't get when people are being ironical or even sarcastic, talking about his non-existent knowledge about the country he just recently moved to. He's also very keen on learning a lot of things, no matter what it is. If he can't rap, he tries to learn rapping, if he can't beatbox, he'll try to learn beatboxing, if he likes cooking... well, you know where this is going. No matter how bad the outcome might be and even if it repeats over and over again, Daebak doesn't give up, his skipjack personality getting on the nerves of many as he doesn't notice how tiresome and frustrating to watch he can be. He's passionate in everything he does but keeps being all modest even when he mastered something. Daebak also loves to try out new stuff and he's not scared to try out different things. He's not scared of losing a certain reputation, blindly walking through Koreas cruel everyday life which is just overflooded by superficiality. It's the survival of the fittest. And Daebak only survived thanks to a lot of luck he always has - even when he's god damn unlucky.
I LOVE WHO I AM. BUT WHAT IS IT WHAT I AM? Passionately as one can be, Daebak loves his heritage. He knows everything about South Korea's history, he's hardly to beat at any quizz that is about it. However, thanks to his grandparents who taught him patiently everything about their past and what had happened to them due to the Japanese occupation, he has also developed some indoctrinated hatred towards Japanese people and even Americans. He can be hell of a racist when it comes to people from those two countries. Funny, right? He's a 'foreigner' so to say himself but he still can't help but think negatively about them. Let's just say it's his naivety's fault. He's just that kind of person that doesn't see how he is following double standards. Daebak is easy to manipulate once he starts trusting people and he would do anything to not lose those who are close to him. Especially after coming to South Korea, a country whose citizens are more alienated towards each other, avoiding any kind of unnecessary interactions with strangers. He often feels lost and lonely as the life in Seoul is a lot different from his hometown where people are close with anyone.
I'M NEITHER SAVAGE NOR UNCULTIVATED. There's more paradox about Daebak. He loves Korean history but he doesn't know anything about Korean culture of these days. He can't even eat properly with chopsticks and especially doesn't know how to eat a lot of Korean dishes which makes him look like a helpless toddler or caveman whenever he sits at a dining table. He's also the one who would get hit by a car first as he doesn't know that Korean car-drivers give a about jaywalkers (yupp, he randomly crosses streets if he is in a hurry). Even the Korean language is a challenge to him as he's struggling with the different honorifics and polite language big time. People call him a savage and uncultivated because of those things, granted, Daebak doesn't know what it means to be 'sensitive' about different topics. He randomly brings up the weirdest topics or comments and has no tactfulness for anything. He's a person to wear his heart on his sleeve... why do Koreans judge this so harshly?;;
I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE AVOID ME... Daebak is kind-hearted like no other and in front of cameras he's extremely charismatic (in a dorky way, but he's got an innate talent of just making people like him if they see him in TV)... but why do people in reality avoid him then? It's most likely because Russians sound pretty creppy towards others. Their accent, their aura, and with Daebak's low voice, he sounds like bloodsucking Vladimir who comes at night to out all your life (or Vodka). Either this or his unawareness about simple Korean manners which often makes him seem stupid causes others to avoid him. Also that he doesn't know what the comfort zone of others means to them. As a European he's more of a touchy person and even during conflicts he's the one grabbing people to stop them... and with his height and the strength he has thanks to his passion for any kind of sport, people get scared easily. To people of his age he becomes the target of gossip often and to younger ones he's that 'Creepy Hyung'. Poor Daebak... all he ever wanted was some place to fit in, but how come he feels so out of place? At least he can compensate it pretty good. By being noisy and trying to force others to acknowledge and like him by showering them with his attention (oh yay!;;).
BACKGROUND:
IN 1930s... Daebak wasn't even planned yet. But that was the time when his grandparents were taken to Sakhalin during the Japanese Occuptation to be enslaved as labour workers. Many people died during that time and under worst conditions but his grandparents made it and even managed to found their own littly family that soon became pretty big. 1992 Daebak was born as the 4th son of 7 kids, gifted with a special name in hope he would succeed and not end like his father who worked and later died as a miner. He grew up as a 3rd generation Sakhalin-Korean, raised in poverty but with big ambitions to be more than just a common guy. He always dreamt of being able to provide a better life for his family by doing things he truely loved. Fun fact: Because he is a 3rd Generation Sakhalin-Korean, his parents didn't put a lot of effort in teaching their children living in a Korean way. So the only Korean influence Daebak and his siblings had were their grandparents. They lived a rather Russian lifestyle, though.
I KINDA WAS JUST LUCKY. In fact luck had to do a lot with his path through a very difficult life. His grandparents, traumatized through their past, and his parents who were both all the time hard-working influenced Daebak a lot and therefore he always wanted to make it big. As the youngest of his siblings, his little sister Dahyun, always dreamt of becoming a ballerina, Dabeak felt the urge to make it possible for her to take dancing classes. Unfortunatelly the family never had enough money to fulfil her dream, so Daebak decided to do something about it. Knowing that it would never be enough if he started working part-time only, he tried to find some people teaching him how to dance so he could teach it to her. He eventually met some people in the underground scene but instead of doing ballet they were doing all the cool stuff, Hip-Hop dancing, rapping and beatboxing. From that point on Daebak started learning dancing and even managed to get his sister to love dancing Hip-Hop instead of ballet (as all the ballet school were still too expensive and without a scholarship there was no way to get her some decent classes).
EVERYTHING HAS ITS PRICE. After graduating Daebak started working on a fisher boat. It wasn't what he had dreamt of but it brought in enough money to support his family and wasn't like the jobs of his older siblings who all ended in the gas & oil industry. However, he never took his job too seriously, causing several accidents by randomly dancing and daydreaming instead of working properly. There were countless times he slipped and ended up in the cold water or fish intestines. After a few years his grandmother who couldn't watch Daebak spent his life like this, told him to go to South Korea and find out who he really is, what life has to offer to him and handed him a flight ticket she bought from the money she had saved secretely over more than 20 years to return to South Korea herself one day. Daebak first didn't feel as if he was able to accept such a great present, especially since he knew how much his grandmother missed Korea but she insisted him to take it and get her to Korea as soon as he gained enough money there.
I'M AN ALIEN BUT I LOVE IT. After quitting his job, packing his stuff and hopping onto the next airplane, Daebak was ready for the adventure South Korea. As soon as he set foot on Seoul's ground, he was fascinated by how different Seoul was from his hometown. It was big, it was noisy and the people... well, they were different. Daebak spent his first week exploring all the fun stuff he could find, hoping that he could get an idea where and how to start his new life. He ended up in Hongdae, being lucky as ever, when he happened to watch one of Hongdae's most famous K-Pop Cover groups, Haramkkun, not knowing what K-Pop was and interrupting their performance by just jumping in as he thought it was a casual Hip-Hop dance off. The group members took it not the bad way though and just joined him, not only rescuing their own performance with it but also integrating Daebak into their dance and letting him experience one of the best things that had happened to him in South Korea. He had fun and he dearly wished to do something just like them - performing in front of others. Someone else witnessing how much he enjoyed dancing was a Fringe Ent scout who had followed Daebak already in the sub when he noticed the handsome giant and after Daebak had spontaneously joined the performance, the scout took the chance and asked him if he wanted to follow him to an interview. Daebak didn't really understand what he was saying because the man was talking way too quick so he was dragged along without knowing what was happening.

Interview
Daebak found himself sitting on a couch, in front of him the man who had dragged him along and another one who was looking a lot more important than the one he just got to know. While the scout was looking friendly and excited, the other one was eying him with judgmental eyes. A little irritated and insecure what all of this was, Daebak scratched the back of his head.
⟪ Please introduce yourself. ⟫
"'Uhm, gud day... my name ees Park Daebak." The two men suddenly looked irritatedly at him.
⟪ No, no. Your real name. ⟫
"... ees Park Daebak.", Daebak repeated himself. People were all reacting the same whenever he told them about his name. Daebak was a name nobody thought was even existing. It was as if someone had called their child Rice. Or Fried Rice. Daebak had never noticed how weird his name was until he arrived in Korea. And there it went again, the same reaction as ever.
⟪ ...all right, then... tell us something about yourself. ⟫
"I was borne and reesed on beauteefol Russian island Sakhalin bot I came heere becos I vanted too liw heere.", he went on introducing himself and immediately sent those positive vibes towards the interviewers with the bright smile emerging on his face.
⟪ ...so you're not Korean?⟫
The more important looking man was suddenly scowling at the scout but Daebak managed to save his by handing the two men his passport and his birth certificate. He was prepared for everything since he had naively believed that a chance to make a living would pop up randomly on the streets. Daebak was just lucky it really did. "I am. My fameely ees Korean."
⟪ Okay, then have you heard about Do or Die? ⟫
Daebak suddenly started to look at the two men in terror. "D-Do or die? Bot I don't vant too die...!" He got all nervous and started moving, attempting to get up as he was afraid he had gotten into something bad by following a random stranger.
⟪ No, no, no! Do or Die is a K-Pop Survival- Show! It's nothing bad! ⟫
Almost immediately, Daebak calmed down again, resting peacefully on his seat. "...oh! Vell... then niet. Neveer heard ov eet."
⟪ ...you never heard of it? Do you know what idols are? ⟫
"Niet." Innocently he was smiling at the two men, waiting for them to explain it to him. However, the grumpy one again scowled at the scout, giving him destructive glances as if he was scolding him for bringing someone like Daebak to this interview.
⟪ Do you have any experience on stage? Any special talents? ⟫
After being asked that question, Daebak chuckled a little. "I know how too catch feesh!"
⟪ He's just kidding! He's a great dancer, I found him in Hongdae! Look at this! ⟫
As if he was about to get slapped straight in his face, the scout quickly pulled out his phone, basically shoving it towards the other man and playing a video he must have taken during Daebak's random dance with Haramkkun. Once the man had watched the video, he examined Daebak a second time, the boy still smiling brightly - even though he had a hint of blank confusion on his face.
⟪ Can you sing? Or rap? ⟫
"I can try.", Daebak exclaimed overly motivated and cleared his throat. As soon as he started his poor beatbox and more saliva than a great rapping performance were meeting the two mens' faces, they stopped him and asked him to sing. But even though his voice sounded nice... they couldn't understand a single word he was singing.
⟪ ...okay, let's put him as a dancer. ⟫

ANY LAST COMMENTS: It's 1.20 AM over here and instead of doing the thousand things I should have been doing, I desperately wanted to finish this x'D And here we go with the probably weirdest character I ever gave birth to (wtf;; it's too late, whatever I say now might be extremely strange). Anyway, it was a lot of fun creating little Daebak ^-^
Whew, I changed a lot and tried to make this app work even though I changed the entire background etc x'D I'm sorry for changing the interview, too, but I felt like this is the only way to make it somehow work with him getting accepted even though he had never heard of K-Pop before. At least there is a reason now why he 'applied' for Do or Die and how he might get into it.
SCENE REQUESTS: I'm happy with anything. There's nothing in particular I wish to see, I'm just looking forward for the story x3
