A few months ago, I asked you guys what your taste was. I wanted to know what type of songs you were listening to when you are looking for inspiration, also sharing a few of my favorites by the same occasion. I've been very surprised when I received many requests about making my own playlist and share it with your guys. 

As you know, I am one to be extremely inspired via the songs that I listen to. So I compiled the ones that, throughout the past months, inspired me the most to write or that inspired me plots for future stories. 

There you will found various songs and my style may vary. You most likely won't like them all but at least I would suggest you give it a try! Maybe some of them will interest you and maybe even inspire you the same way they inspired me. Who knows? 

You Can Be King Again- Lauren Aquilina

This song is just really powerful. I really like that singer because her vocals just allow us to be really open to the actual meaning of the lyrics. I also like the fact that the song talks about someone who may have lost it all but can still claim his rights (crown)back.

Sinners – Lauren Aquilina

Once again, this singer brings us to another world. The lyrics of this one really spoke to me. To me, the story told in the song is about two lovers not supposed to be together but who got together against all odds. If it’s not angst right there, then I don’t know what it is. When she says ‘ The world may disapprove but my world is only you’ my heart literally sank guys.

I See You – Leona Lewis

Ok, for this one, we go back in times a little. This was the soundtrack of the movie ‘Avatar’ but I have to admit that I’ve been listening to it non-stop while writing supernatural stories. This one is especially powerful with its strong meaning that affection and love could be felt differently and that real love sees over the boundaries. Add Leona’s strong vocals and you have me almost collapsing on the floor. Amen.

Born To Die – Lana Del Rey

I hesitated to put this one because I only listen to it when I write about dark concepts. Solemnly that. We have to admit that the strong message is really direct; we were all born to die no matter what. However, the vibes it gives, allow me to sometimes get into this set of mind in which I can go deeper and talk about darker and more meaningful subjects.

Hypnotic- Zella Day

This one is one of my ‘go to’ when it comes to writing . Honestly, I just really like the upbeat rhythm as well as some classic lyrics. There is just something about the theme of being hypnotized by someone, in a way or another, that I found particularly appealing. The singer talks about the need and desire to stay off the ground in that fantasy, far gone in this hypnotic embrace.

Bows & Arrows – Jonas

This one directly inspired me my one shot of the same name. The strong vocals give me shiver and I just couldn’t skip the song whenever it would come up in my playlist. This is a song my father had been playing for years and I basically grew up hating it until I fell in love with it.  Basically explaining that, when you play with bows and arrows, you might end up getting hurt. You see the strong message behind it. Bonus point because Jonas comes from Montreal as well. #Montrealrepresent.

Secret Love Songs – Little Mix ft. Jason Derulo.

What can trigger that little feeling in our chest more than a story about an impossible love? Right? Well, I like this song mostly because of this. The story talks about two lovers that both are aware of the other’s feeling but that, for an unknown reason, can’t get together. This is as heartbreaking as it could be true for many other people. It kind of inspires me stories about two idols in love but that, for obvious reasons, can’t go through with their romance. Sad but true.

Shameless- The Weeknd

Ok, there I will have to contain myself. If it was just from my own personal taste, I would make a separate playlist for ‘ The Weeknd’ since I worship this guy, really. I just like this style of music and the lyrics give me goosebumps. No need to tell you that I listen to this one when writing . This one is slightly like. With lyrics such as ‘I don’t want to hurt you but you live for the pain’ & ‘ Said you wanna be good but you couldn’t keep your composure. ‘ It’s easy to see where it leads. Argghh.

I’m Not Sorry – Dean ft. Eric Bellinger.

These two goes together like peanut butter and jelly for me. Ok, actually I like them even more than the jam mix because I can’t handle peanut butter (shame) but still. Their voices just blend together so well, it’s crazy. It will stick with you either you want it or not and, sooner than later, you’ll found yourself jamming to it too. Heavy sensation with this one as well.

So Sick – Ne-Yo

Once again, another song that inspired me the plotline of a story. This one is the inspiration behind Love Songs. I just feel it, mostly because I can relate to it and maybe so do you. This is the details of a breakup in which the guy didn’t have the chance to really get over with. Really powerful for all those people wanting to get it all out of their chest after a bad breakup or, just like me, want to get into that mood for a literal sake.

Neighbors Know My Name- Trey Songz

Does this song need any introduction? This is THE song in my opinion. It is filled with naughty but HIGHLY inspirational quotes if you want to write a good . Honestly, this is really a mood maker for me. It’s like really implying a high ‘ getting caught’ risk through the whole song. Lyrics such as ‘ While I’ll be banging on your body, they’ll be banging on our wall” I mean… yeah. Thank you, Trey Songz.

My Eden – Yisabel

This is a bit of an 180°switch here but this one is really sweet and I usually listen to it for anything requiring to be in an innocent/ romantic/ nostalgic mood. I think it’s a go to for any historical playlist honestly. I’ve been liking this song for a while now and it’s still on my playlist and won’t leave it for sure.

Flower – Xia  (Junsu)

My friends know about that fact, but it is one of my favorite songs. Junsu’s powerful voice just makes it all the more enjoyable. However, the song in itself is like so powerful (sorry but there is honestly no other words for it ) that you will have a heartache while listening to it. The part when he says ‘ Looks like love is pain’ is said in a way that gives me goosebumps all over the body. It really gives me the mood of an ‘impossible love’ in which the boy is just begging for the girl to give him a chance despite it all and to finally take his hand. Great song, seriously.

Zipper –Jason Derulo

This one doesn’t look like a song at first but you have to take a second glance at the lyrics. Hell does Jason takes us away with this one. I mean ‘ I can be sweet babe, or eat it like a cannibal, go places that you may can’t go.” ……… ajbakajcakbcjsdksck. Damn it.

Soldier- Taemin

This is literally a crush. I don’t especially love Taemin nor his music but I fell in love with the song without knowing who was singing it. I just think this is a marvelous piece of art. The lyrics really speaks to me as well, showing a fighting side of himself, Taemin really gives a romantic vibe to the whole ‘fight for someone’ thing.

Mad Hatter – Melanie Martinez

Seriously, I think this song is dope. This is for all those ‘ psycho/obsession themed stories. I just like the ‘ I know I am crazy and I enjoy it’ theme. It really makes me think about maybe making another fic talking about obsession or mental struggle. There is just something about it all that attracts me a lot. This would definitely be my main soundtrack if I was to write a story along those lines.  ‘ What if I am crazy? The best people are. ‘
