One of the Happiest Days

I'm so uncontrollably happy today. A lot of good things happened.

Well, the first thing of the day was bad. That was my exam. Yup, an exam on a Sunday is a nightmare and I faced it, flopping the exam (others did too. The paper was damn tough. Only attempted 33 out of 60 because it had -2 as negative marking!)

Then, I went to my friend's house to start the practice for dance. There I realized how rusted my dancing skills have become (too rusted). And I wasn't able to remember the steps, hence couldn't coordinate. All these things made me sad and I started crying. Usually no one used to care if I cry (too used to face the cold shoulder by my previous dance groupies) but these guys... they stopped practicing and started pacifying me. Frankly speaking, I really liked it. I felt as if there are finally some people who care about me. Thanks M & J for that (I'm not going to reveal their names and it's not Michael Jackson xD)

And thanks to M, I finally remembered my all-time favorite (which I sadly forgot) Everybody by Backstreet Boys after 5 years. Another reason for me to be happy.

Then when I was returning, my dad told he would pick me up which happens very rarely since he wants me to be independent and travel by myself. So, I was happy again.

Me and my dad's conversation in the elevator made me the happiest. The behind story: Yesterday my brother was shouting at me since I always listen to Korean songs in front of my dad who had no idea about it (my parents don't know that I listen to Kpop). So, here's the conversation

Dad: So, you listen to Korean songs, not Hindi or English?

Me: ... Yeah...

Dad: Why?

Me: I really like that language.

Dad: You do? Just like you were learning French in 5th grade... and what else were you learning during the last summer vacation?

Me: ... Chinese.... and I was also learning Korean then.

Dad: Hmm. So you want to learn them? Are you really that interested?

Me: *slowly nods*

Dad: Then, do you want to pursue linguistics in university?

Me: *eyes popped out* What?! *dancing in my mind*

Dad: You love learning languages so do you want to pursue in linguistics? There are many famous universities that have linguistic courses.

Me: Dad, are you serious? You don't want me to study engineering?

Dad: I do. But, if you don't like it, I'll never force you to. If you like languages or history or mythology or something like that, just go for it. I couldn't fulfill my dream and the same goes for your mom. We don't want you to be like that. We want you to enjoy what you do, even if that's the smallest job in the world. So, don't be pressurized by us. We don't want you to do something for our happiness. Do it for your happiness. Okay?

Me: Y-Yes *cries in my heart out of joy*

I was so happy. I love learning languages or about history and mythology and wanted to pursue them in university. I've talked about that with my parents but they would always be sad if I mentioned I don't want to study something related to engineering so I never raised that talk. But today, when my dad told that, I was overjoyed. It was as if I received so much love in just one day (I'm a love deprived person).

Then my mom asked if I wanted to eat chicken (I'm a little overweight so there's a ban on chicken for me). I couldn't be happier. I enjoyed my snacks which were chicken wings and now, chicken gravy is waiting for dinner. Yum!

Then, I opened AFF and saw so many updates and was even happier.

So, overall, except the first thing, my whole day went awesome! Mom, Dad, M, J, and my stupid bro who revealed my secret before I was ready for it... I love you. And all my lovely 221 friends, I love you guys too.

Awww :) that's so sweet that your dad wants you to do what you want and like to do :) I'm so happy for you !
Keep practicing and hopefully you'll get the dance steps better.
Backstreet Boys was one of my favorite bands as a kid. My sister and I memorized about every one of their songs and would just sing them :D not perform them, just sing them because we knew the words lol

That's really amazing! I'm so glad your parents respect your love for Kpop, and languages in general. I know how the drill in our country is, you either become a doctor or an engineer. But I'm so, so happy for you that you get to do what you like :D congratulations, and I wish you all the best! Enjoy your chicken ^^

That's great...Your parents are Jjang. In one way, your brother helped indirectly and accidentally. It made your dad think about your interest XD All the best! <3
