I lose subscribers when I update?

So after a long hiatus I finally updated my story, Burning In Our Veins and I noticed a trend. Every time I update that story I lose a few subscribers before gaining some. It has been like this since day one. Does anyone else have this?

 

And does any of you have an idea why it happens?

Yeah I lose subscribers when I update and I haven't updated in a while. I'm kind of to the point where I don't want to write anymore because it doesn't seem like I have many readers anyways

I had that problem before because my story had a love triangle and when one chapter contained more of one pairing, the people who shipped the other pairing unsubbed hahaha
But I doubt that this issue applies to your story xP

some people notice they lost interest, then there come more who think the opposite, that's the way it goes when you're an author, I guess :D It happens all the time :D

I think I had that too for a bit but I have no idea why .-.

I think it is because they just don't think it is interesting anymore, they lost interest in the pairing something like that maybe?
