well i'm just wondering

when an author said "please leave a comment I enjoyed reading them" does it mean they only want to read pretty words or also take concrit (constructive criticism) because nowadays i tend to give it out when I spot something that could be improved. I am myself actually enjoyed concrit, but somehow it's only can be found when I submitted my story to be reviewed by review shop. but I guess people are different.

(this is a result of too much spending time in reading review omg) I hope nobody was hurt by my commentary, though... I need to stop.

second, do you reply to the comment on your story? and for readers, do you enjoy reading the author's replies?

Hahaha I may be late to this party but I want to join in too!
I love comments irregardless of whether it is full of praise or full of criticism. I mean I do understand that to some, criticism may seem rude, however, I feel like any comment if read with a pessimistic point of view may seem harsh at times. Comments may contain love or it may be built from the most toxic acid from their fiery pits of hell, but how we view, read, and respond to these comments are the most important thing. Because it is through these views, thoughts, and response do we impeded the culture misunderstanding and miscommunication that seems to revolve around all SNS.

Therefore, I would like to think that comments are just comments. How we respond to them is the more important matter. Have the confidence to take criticism and hopefully learn from it.

I for one also want constructive criticism as my grammar and choice of words aren't always correct - especially since English is my second language. However receiving appreciation and love from my readers are definitely more rewarding to read through. Hehehe. I am a er for readers who continuously write comments for my chapters. I get all giddy every time I read their comments. So I make it my mission to reply to all my commenters despite of the contents of the message.

The end.
Lol, I wrote an essay.

Criticism or grammar correction must be through private messages to be honest, not public

I've read many fanfics where most comments are critics and correction, and it makes me sad because most of them are rude
Some people have no shame in making authors feel embarrassed -_-

Before deleting my fics, I always replied to people.. and yup i enjoy reading authors' replies hehe :D

I enjoy constructive criticism as long as it's NOT pointing out grammar and spelling mistakes. I hate it when people leave corrections because it feels like mocking. I may just take it the wrong way but I do not appreciate that. But if I've made a crucial mistake that confuses you, then please point it out.
Don't leave "you should've changed that" either because that's not constructive criticism. ; _ ; Okay, I'm changing it, I don't like constructive criticism as comments. I don't mind it in PM if there is something to be said, but I don't think it belongs in a comment. Leave comments be comments and praise.

Anyway - under no circumstance do I think commenting on someone's grammar is welcome unless they outright say "please tell me if I spelled something wrong" or something equally as direct.

And yes, I reply to all comments. And I enjoy a reply when I comment as well. (I also enjoy replies to my comment replies)
