PERSONALITY —
「 positive 」 intelligent, courageous, adaptable, confident, generous
「 negative 」 tempermental, jealous, pessimisstic, vengeful, stubborn

As the daughter of a martial arts master, her father has taught her to be adaptable toward any situation to survive. She takes things in strides and adapts to achieve her goals. She learned at a young age that hesitating could mean that your opponent gains the upper hand so she makes sure to be confident in her actions and must fight any fear that causes her to hesitate.
Ming Xia's younger brother was a prodigy at martial arts but had a kind and altruistic heart, always holding the well-being of others before himself and so, when he died, Ming Xia has attempted to be more like him in order to honour his memory and to give back to the community that she's grown up in.

Ming Xia has always had a temper, throwing fits when she was a small child. She hates the aristocrats and royalty of the country who have so much when the people around her have so little and is jealous of them. She wishes she could punish those who are so selfish and horde their wealth (even though some of them actually earned their wealth). She has had a dark view on humanity ever since her brother was killed and will do anything to avenge him - even kill those who were't directly involved in his murder.

INNER DEMONS — Ming Xia has grown to hate anyone with wealth. Privileged soldiers that were carrying out the King's orders when one of them stabbed her brother in the heart. The targets were women & children suspected to be spies of General Yeung but no nobility were targeted. Ming Xia has been searching for him/her to avenge her brother. However, the palace guards were the ones to detain and actually kill Minghao so whenever there is an opportune moment (when they're in a small group & she knows she'll succeed), she will injure or kill the guard, reasoning that they've done someone in their village an injustice (such as carrying out wrongful punishment). Ming Xia thinks that the people in power are corrupt, therefore, her ultimate goal is to murder the king and his sons.

TRIVIA
white tiger 」it is said that the white tiger would appear if the emperor ruled with absolute virtue or the world was at peace. Ming Xia represents the white tiger because, with help from others who want absolute peace, they eliminate threats to the common people.
hǔ zhǎo pài/hēi hǔ quán 」the styles of martial arts that Ming Xia studied is "Tiger Claw Style"/"Black Tiger System" which mimics the fighting style of a tiger.
yānggē 」a traditional Chinese fan dance performed with a fan. Ming Xia performs a variation that uses a long silk fan which was passed down to her from her mother. the dance is performed for royalty so Ming Xia is sometimes employed at the palace for royal events (in which they showcase their kingdom's arts). she often wears a veil to cover her face as part of the "costume".
「 nightmares 」Ming Xia still has nightmares about her brother's execution day & often wakes up in tears. She has a strong hatred for swords and anyone who carries one since her brother was unarmed when he was stabbed with a royal sword. Swords are also usually only owned by the rich.

BACKGROUND — When civil war was imminent in Beijing, Ming Xia's family moved to Eudaimonia to seek refuge. The Xu family lived a quiet life, with Ming Xia's father being a merchant & her mother joining a yangge dancing group. Ming Xia's father was secretly a master in martial arts and wanted to pass down the knowlege to his children so that they could do good in the world. Both turned out to excel at it. Being a girl, Ming Xia also was taught yangge by her mother, even joining the group when she was 14 as a beginner with a single solo dance & 1 group dance per performance.
Minghao always tried to follow their father's wishes to use their skills to help others & when the King ordered for his assassins to murder anyone that was suspected to be General Yeung's spies, Minghao attempted to save a child that he had recognized from his hometown. In the process, he was killed instead at the age of only 14. The child that was saved reported back to Minghao's family. When Ming Xia heard of how her brother was killed, while being honourable, she vowed to get revenge for her brother. Whenever there is an opportune moment (new/small number of guards) Ming Xia will take them out in the hopes that one or all of them are part of the King's assassin group.
Shortly after Minghao was murdered, Ming Xia's mother grew ill from one of the plagues that was going through the commoners of Eudaimonia at the time. She died at the age of 41.
Left with only each other, Ming Xia's father grew worried about his daughter's activities since she was simply slaughtering palace guards in cold blood but when he tried to convince her to stop, she threatened to cut off all contact with him, asking if he was willing to let the King get away with accusing innocent people.
The yangge dancers were employed at Prince Tao's birthday & then offered a long-term contract to dance for the royal family after their entrancing performance. Ming Xia then lives with the other servants of the royal family but uses the opportunity to kill any guards that she thinks deserves to be wiped from the earth. Her ultimate goal being to kill the King & any of his corrupt successors in the hopes that someone worthy will be appointed the throne afterwards.

RELATIONSHIPS
FATHER  Xú Qiáng (48) Ming Xia's father didn't like to advertise that he knew martial arts so he only taught Ming Xia, Minghao & occassionally Seungcheol in privacy - usually in one of the wooded areas on the edge of Eudamonia. He wanted his children to be able to stand up for themselves and the weak. He doesn't know the full extent of what his daughter does, but suspects that she's the one behind all of the assassinations. He attempts to talk his daughter out of her activities but ultimately fails. She threatens to never speak to him again if he interferes with her revenge (she knows it's a low-blow since her brother & mother are both deceased).
DECEASED MOTHER  Zhāng Yàn Nà (45) Yan Na died of scarlet fever shortly after Ming Hao died. She was the one to teach Ming Xia yangge since she was part of a performing company that had both solo dancers and groups that would dance. She even passed down her grandmother's fan to Ming Xia. Died at the age of 41.
DECEASED SIBLING  Xú Míng Hào (18) Ming Xia hadn't been all that close to her brother when he was alive. Ming Xia tended to look down on her brother because she was older and (a little) better than him at their family's martial art. She hated that he was so good even though he was younger. when he died, she finally realized how much he had meant to her as part of her family. He died at the age of 14.
SECOND-IN-COMMAND  Choi Seungcheol (19) Seungcheol was a friend of the Xu children & was also furious when Minghao had been executed. He wants justice for his wronged friend but doesn't necessarily agree with Ming Xia's way of executing every vulnerable palace guard in sight. He attempts to reign her in but often gets ignored. He goes along with Ming Xia's way because he knows that the palace guards often pick on the weaker village people because they can get away with it.
INFORMANT/INSIDE-MAN  The Scholar (age) The Scholar has a similar goal to "clean-house" with the royals & helps to cover up any missteps that Ming Xia makes.

LOVER'S BACKGROUND — Though he was born with a thug's face, Tao has a kind heart which he attributes to his training in martial arts. Tao seems like he doesn't want to take the throne to the kingdom, but he has convinced himself that the only way to do good in the kingdom, is to become king. He was raised with the other sons of the king but as the 3rd youngest son, born from a concubine, he has never really been listened to or respected as much as his other brothers, making him rather jealous. He did, however, get along with some of his brothers in the palace.

PERSONALITY

「 negative 」 self-righteous, egotistical, petty

TRIVIA
「 wǔshù 」Tao began practicing martial arts at the age of 3 not seriously but began rigorous training when he was 8 after he had heard some of the palace guards calling him "too skinny" or "weak" so he decided that he would train so that one day, he would be the authority over the palace guards and they wouldn't have the right to call him "weak".
「 ghosts, BUGS, the dark, oh my! 」even with a strong body & a long pole, he still gets the hand maids or Yifan to kill bugs that are in his sight. he sleeps with a candle burning in his room at night because he hates the dark, even with his cat snuggling him. he also swears that the palace is haunted and hates venturing into the dark corridors without someone accompanying him.
「 ideal type 」since Tao has a nice physique due to his many years of training, he believes that a girl with a nice body would suit him. he also would prefer someone who thinks he's awesome because he's spent most of his life trying to prove himself.
「 Peach 」when he was younger, he didn't like to play with the other boys as much so his mother got him a tabby cat that he named "Peach" because she was orange-ish and had puffy cheeks. Peach mostly likes to sleep on his balcony now but occasionally likes to wander the palace.
「 hanfu 」Tao has always been interested in commoner life & it's also one of the reasons that he wanted to become the overseer of the palace guards; he would be allowed on frequent trips outside of the palace walls. His interests also envelop the plain clothing that commoners wear, even going so far as wearing plain black robes when outside of the palace gates. All he's ever wanted was to fit in somewhere & when he's out in the kingdom with the commoners, looking like a commoner, he actually feels comfortable.

INNER DEMON — Tao holds a grude against most of the Kim brothers because their mother is the Queen. His grudge is unfounded though, since they've all treated him rather well despite the fact that his mother wasn't the Queen. He would hate to see one of them on the throne since the advisors and others attending the prines always preferred the older brothers or the Kim brothers. If he were to become King, he would mostly likely replace most of them. He would also move the Queen to a separate palace. He has also never liked Consort Wu and her over-protectiveness and would move her to another palace as well.

LOVE STORY —
「 first meeting (dancer) 」For his birthday, many diplomats from neighbouring kingdoms attended his birthday feast. The entertainment for the night was a group of dnacers from the village who were rumoured to be goddesses, disguised by their veils. They were hired since they'd recieved great praise from some of the lords of the kindgom.
Among them, was Ming Xia who would perform only once with other girls in black costumes. Tao was entranced by the girl who could move so smoothly, it was like her feet weren't touching the floor. He searched for the graceful rookie throughout the other dances but couldn't see her since she only partook in the one dance. Though she wore a veil, he imagined that she would be beautiful to match her dancing.
「 first meeting (assassin) 」Tao was with some of the palace guards on a routine patrol through Eudamonia near the palace when he heard a muffled cry. He ordered his five men to draw their swords and to proceed with caution. When they got to an alley, they were shocked to find four bloodied bodies laying in the street and a fifth getting his throat slit by a person in brown robes. Foolishly, the other guards charged for the person and were defeated quickly before Tao could give orders to get reinforcements. Finally, Tao engaged the veiled assassin, having witnessed their fighting style & was able to pin them to the ground. Tao could've shredded the person for mercilessly killing the other guards, but instead, he chose to bring the person to the dungeons of the palace. He figured that if he could convince the person to work with him, if the time came to use force to attain the throne, he'd have a powerful ally.
「 interactions」Tao guessed from the girl's fluid movements while fighting that she was a woman. Even though the attacks that she used were sharp, like a tiger, her blocks & dodges were like a dancer. He interrogates he daily to try & find out about her motives, who she is, if she's anyone important. He also tries to get her to remove the veil but fails. Eventually, when he decides to take a night shift from the usual guard, he encounters her nightly breakdown where she even screams because she's dreaming about Minghao's death. When he opens the door to try & calm her down, her veil gets ripped off & he see's her face. He'd expected her to be ugly since he guessed she was a commoner from her clothes but she was just an average-looking girl. Being a sheltered kid with little to no experience with girls, he becomes entranced by her face... only to get punched in face by Ming Xia whose nightmare continues. Ming Xia doesn't understand this guard who seems to continuously come visit her rather than execute her. She doesn't trust him but slowly begins to warm up to him when he begins to show her kindness. Eventually (after many visits & punches in the face), the pair strike up a deal - Ming Xia will pose as.

RELATIONSHIPS
OLDER HALF-BROTHER  Wú YìFàn (26)  of all the older brothers, Tao is closest to Yifan who is quite down-to-earth and has always listened to him, hanging out around the palace grounds together. Tao admires Yifan because he's the strong but silent type which is what he aspires to be.
YOUNGEST HALF-BROTHER Oh Sehun (22)  Sehun is close in age to Tao so they all get along rather well. Tao doesn't baby Sehun as much as the others because their age-gap isn't so wide but actually like to take walks together, ride/hunt together or just mind their own business in the palace (how much is there to do for royal princes?).
FATHER Emperor Kim (age) Tao doesn't have much of a relationship with his father since he thinks that his father sired too many sons. He never fails to make passes at his father or to-the-side comments about how he was selfish enough to have so many wives.
MOTHER Huáng Xiùlán (43) Tao's mother is often with her ladies-in-waiting or the other mothers so he doesn't speak with her much during the day but always makes an effort to communicate with her at least once a day. though he hates his father, Tao doesn't blame his mother and is especially gentle with her. she doesn't want her son to be "trapped" in the palace forever so she'd rather that he didn't become king and instead, find a nice young girl to marry.

QUESTIONS/COMMENTS — So… the uppercase everything was giving me a headache (because in my head - it sounds like yelling) so I changed it ^^;
Also, if The Scholar isn't chosen, someone else in the palace will do as her "inside-man".
SCENE REQUESTS
「 Consort Wu's death 」Ming Xia finds out that it was Consort Wu who had her brother killed because he had befriended Sehun (she didn't want one of her sons interacting with someone so poor and lowly) so she kills Consort Wu as her final revenge.
「 banishment/execution 」though Ming Xia was trying to do good by her people, she ultimately had murdered many palace guards as well as Consort Wu (even though she had Minghao wrongfully executed). so whoever becomes king has Ming Xia banished or executed.
「 here 」will think up later!!
OTHERS — lol I don't think my character will be a cameo since I'm co-author but uh... go ahead Viv, do what you gotta do! :P
