Silent Readers

I don't often write blog posts, much less about things I dislike, but I really like interacting with my readers. The people who view your stories are obviously a huge part of why you, as the author write.

I really like when people comment on my story, whether it be something they liked or disliked about the chapter/plot. Hell, comment i like turtles on my story and it would make my day.

It just really irks me when you can spend a couple hours writing a chapter or doing research for your stories and you won't get feedback from your readers. I would really like to know what my readers think of the content I'm posting, or what they would like to see in future updates. Not only do they help me with what my readers like, but they also motivate me to keep on writing. Even if the ideas won't go with my plot necessarily, I want to know what you think because I really like to adjust my writing to help captivate my audience's attention.

When people comment on my recent story, Chance Meeting, saying things like "ooh something's about to happen" or whatever, it really makes me smile and motivates me to keep posting. When I see comments, to me it feels like people like my content enough to say something about it. I don't get that many comments so it makes me feel like people don't like or aren't interested on what the story's about.

Don't get me wrong. I love each and every person who takes the time to check out my story and subscribe, I'd just like to interact with my readers more.

I love my commenters so much i feel horrible when I have to remind them that I love it when they comment. It has proven to me, though, that doing so actually makes them remember just how much I like it and need it ;;

Sometimes there is one or two comments that irritate me in my story. it's usually the comments that start off as a whole rant about how the story is and their perspective .___.
It just seems more like an attack rather than a comment. I understand all comments are not necessary comments, but I rather have a silent reader than a rude comment any day.
Do you ever get one of those?

And yes! totally agree on the interactions between the author and reader! :)
