Back in January I submitted an application to the Gates Millennium Scholarship. I had to write 8 one page essays on various topics. I spent 3 full school days in the computer lab writing and proof reading my papers. This scholarship grants 1,000 high school students of minority full tuition to any school of their choice until their Doctorial degree. FREE OF COST!! Out of the 10 people who applied from my school, only me and this other kid made it to the 2nd round. Yesterday I received a letter in the mail from them. It was addressed to me. However, when I opened it the letter itself was addressed to another person. Someone had ed up the packaging and sent me the wrong information.

I got Miss Universe-ed. I had the crown in my hands and then they took it away from me!!

I called them immediately after and they said that they can't do anything because the manager wasn't there. My teacher and I called earlier today for some answers with no luck. They couldn't tell me anything over the phone. Hell, they couldn't even email or fax anything. They could only mail the right packet which will take a few days.

So now ALL I CAN DO IS WAIT!! You know how pissed I am?!?! They ed up and they can't even send me something immediately. Bull!! 

The other person who applied recieved the scholarship. In the back of my mind I'm thinking they wouldn't pick two kids from the same school and neighborhood. I couldn't be a winner. I'm not that lucky.

Everyone was congratulating me and saying that I have the scholarship. Don't worry about the mix up. But I technically didn't get it so I felt like the whole day being a downer. Not knowing is eating me alive.

Sometimes life @ss. So all I can do is wait for the mail to come.
