I am writing this blog because of something I myself uncovered today. I was recommended a fic recently and I came online to read and I noticed certain discrepancies. Verifying what I already thought was easy enough.

The fic was plagiarized.  Either by this author or the other. Every single penned word was the same. The only difference were the names of the characters. 

Still I took to making sure because jumping the gun and making rash decisions and accusations isn't me. I highlighted different portions of the fics and put it through Google. Every single time those two fics would pop up. Bold and clear. 

I checked the forwards (there was a sequel to the first fic) and noticing no acknowledgemention on either,  I sent a private message to one of the author as the other had been on hiatus for ages, informing her, either of her plagiarism or of the one that she is a victim to.  

Her actions confused me. She declares that she is the victim and then proceeded to delete the story. Ok that was understandable because I've deleted the story that was plagiarized off of me before. And then she deleted all other stories on her profile and then deactivates her account. 

Guys, please don't copy off of other people. Getting praise is great but if its not our own work, how can we be truly happy? 

And picking up such blatant plagiarism is easy. Don't let your overconfidence be your downfall. Authors work really really hard to create the fics they do and to copy and post it as such is an unappreciative and deplorable act. I haven't reported anyone in this but as an author I found it hateful. I don't know which one is the original author but it frustrated me as though it was me who had been cheated. 

I'm sorry. But yeah. ...I needed to vent. It's not kyuhyuk but yeah...

PS - for the guys asking me to update. That will only happen after my postgrad applications and exams are over with. I can't have my attention deferred to writing a fic when I need to prepare for entrance exams.  Please do understand. I haven't studied since undergrad graduation and I've forgotten most of the theory parts.  And thank you so much for reading my fics.  My hiatus will lift sometime after May/June
