Story Update: Not A Reverse Harem [Repost]

Hello Inheritors,

This message is not to belittle anyone who holds differing opinions than me concerning my writing, the plot of this story, or its characters. This is to answer reoccurring questions and comments that have arisen with the release of the most recent chapters. It is simply for clarification purposes. And for that reason, I would like to let you know that this story is not reverse harem. It has not been tagged as a "reverse harem" story, it was never intended to be reverse harem, nor will it become a reverse harem novel. Please note that I have nothing against reverse harem stories. But my personal reasoning for not leaning towards that kind of plot line is:

One, it is not realistic. Although this is a fantasy novel, I desire to hold true to relatable dynamics in people's relationships. Now you may let me know if you have experienced this, but I doubt that there is a single person who has had 12 or more people court them and desire to marry them at the same time. I mean, if you have, then all the power to you. You must be a very charismatic person! But I believe it is safe to assume that most of us have not.

Two, romance is not the main focus of this novel. I am sure most of you are aware of that fact, taking into consideration that until recently, there had barely been mention of romantic interests. And the reason romance is being brought up at this point in time is because it is vital to the plot of this first novel in the series.

Three, this novel contains main characters, to which have different personalities, quirks, behaviors, and ideals. It is a bit... disrespectful, in my opinion, to make the characters all fall in love with one person. Although I am the writer, who knows these characters inside and out (which is why I love them so much and why I desire for all of you to get to know them more), I let them breath and do as they wish. I have an outline as to the plot, but the way it turns out chapter by chapter is like a river -- it flows naturally as my fingers type on the keys of my laptop. To me, these characters are living, breathing beings. They are my friends whom I can visit in my imagination whenever I feel lonely and want to envision something exciting. Who am I to make them love someone they honestly do not match at all? Or a person who would not benefit their personal flaws and struggles? To me, that would ruin them.

Lastly, Four, although this story is told from second person, in which I use the pronoun you, you the reader are not Kora, although in a sense you are. You see, I wrote this story that way on purpose. Kora is a powerful, strong, independent character. In light of that, I desired to empower readers by looking at the world of Athosia through her eyes (male or female, it doesn't matter). However, Kora, as any other person, is unique. With that in mind, if she (not spoiling anything) felt romantic feelings for someone, it would be for a unique reason. Crushing and falling in love are different. You are Kora, but Kora is also herself. She has things she likes and dislikes. And it would be a sin, in my eyes, to force her to be in love with everyone, when she needs a specific kind of person to be there for her. And with all of the Inheritors that she has met so far, she has formed extremely close, strong friendships with them (or is in the process of gaining their trust). Strong friendships are different than romantic relationships. Those are two different kinds of love.

In conclusionI would like to point out that you have a right to ship Kora with anyone you want :D I would be hypocritical if I said you must stick to the canon relationships presented in this novel when I ship characters whose relationships are not cannon in other mediums I read and watch. And with that, I would like to say that the relationships I present to you are the ones that are meant to be in this novel (friendships, romances, etc.). Remember that relationships are fluid, changing in dynamic all the time. For realistic purposes relationships must grow, change, and go under stressors. But if you would be so kind, please let me write the way my keys direct me to without fearing or being self-conscious about people hating certain friendships/romantic relationships/antagonistic relationships, etc.

Thank you very much for your time. If you are reading the end of this, I appreciate you :3 If you have any questions, let me know in the comments or via PM. I would be more than happy to answer all your questions, either by replying or making an video to answer all of them. See you in the next update! Farewell!

(Side note: I personal think that Yeja is a beautiful character. But you can think whatever you want)
