Upvote shops still an issue??? STILL??

 

 

I honestly thought that the entire drama with up vote shops are over now. It's been months since I first raged about it. Today, the featured fic looked rather suspicious (featured fics that used upvote shops are usually pretty easy to be picked out). Just to be sure, I looked through the upvotes to check and sure enough, pages and pages of votes by fake accounts with the same name. I THOUGHT WE WERE DONE WITH THIS BULL. 

 

I am rather frustrated by the lack of change and moderation on this website. Why is this still allowed to happen? Has any official statement ever been released about how this is being dealt with? It's so frustrating to see this still happening after so many months. I really don't understand...

Nope, no official statement or policy change, even though I know some of the mods are irritated by it and dislike the idea of the shops. Some people are beginning to leave the site as a result, apparently.

I had reported tons of the upvote and subscribe shop, but there are more out there.

I think that there was a statement from AFF that they'll fix this. But idk, I read it on a blog and it was months before. I hope the featured fic will get removed, the previous fic that bought upvotes did. This kind of thing really pisses me off. Like, there are so many talented authors here that aren't discovered yet. And their stories really have potential, yet these kind of people gets featured. Ugh.

I've always wondered why some stories were featured although they were actually not that good. Guess now I know. How they weren't ashamed about doing it, I'll never know. Tsk tsk

I've read that story. Even though I know there's a lot of afford put in the story, it did not meet the "featured level" for me. There's so many stories that I've read and deserves to be featured, but due to the lack of up votes it didn't. Atleast they played fair...

I didn't even know these were a thing. Makes sense now why I saw a few...not so well written fanfics on the featured page a while back. Nevery thought they'd cheat tho...

it's not fair to those of us that actually take time and effort to earn our upvotes if a person thinks our story is worth of one, it completely defeats the purpose of spending time to make your story actually seem well written if you're just going to get featured using ing upvote shops, I know of a story that did use upvote shops but she (the author) realized it was wrong to use them so she asked all of the upvote shops to stop upvoting her story. and honestly I woul feel cheated and discouraged to even continue my story if people out there are going to get featured using upvote shops.

that's asianfanfics for ya, where people prioritize getting on the front page by cheating over writing actual quality stories that DESERVE to be there. I've pretty much given up on this site at this point. it's beyond saving.
