Ohgo Suzuka blinked her eyes once and again to ensure that her eyes were not playing a trick on her. But the latest message which she had just read on her twitter feed remained unchanged.

“Oh no…,” The young lady shook her head in denial, unable to believe that she was part of the reason which resulted in this… latest piece of scandal in the that dreadful magazine.

Suzuka swallowed noisily and casted a side glance at her ignorant partner-in-crime, Kawahima Umika, pondering how she should word her sentence to her best friend about their other best friend.

It did not help when the two of them shared very different views about a certain part of their best friend’s life.

“Ne, Umika-chan,” Ohgo Suzuka smiled uneasily as she continued to eye her mobile screen in dismay, “you remember how we were discussing about being followed by somebody previously? And how you and Mirai-chan insisted that it was me being overly sensitive?”

The young girl in question looked up from her magazine and frowned cutely at her friend, “You were referring to the week we decided to do a sleepover in Shibuya to celebrate Mirai-chan’s first play right? But I thought we agreed in the end that something strange was going-on after discussing it? I think Mirai-chan was the only one who insisted that no one would want to follow us since we are so commonly boring.”

‘Commonly boring… indeed,’ Ohgo Suzuka raised a brow at the words repeated by Kawahima Umika on behalf of their missing friend, ‘judging from the amount of retweet this magazine cover has now, it is definitely nothing commonly boring at all! Only Mirai-chan would have thought nothing much of it.’

Turning her mobile phone to face Kawahima Umika, Ohgo Suzuka could not help but hold her breath for the exclamation she knew her friend would have when she has seen the headlines tomorrow.

“OH MY GOSH!!!” Just as expected, a sharp scream was heard from Kawahima as she paused to take in the bold words on the side of the magazine cover, “Yamada-kun will kill me now!”  

“Do you think Kamiki-kun will still talk to me for dragging his name into this?” Ohgo Suzuka shook her head in dismay, while she was all for Team KamiShi, she had never wanted it to explode right in their faces.

Knowing how shy their classmate of 3 years, Kamiki Ryunosuke was whenever she tried to bring up this topic to urge him out of his shell, Ohgo Suzuka could imagine how horrified the young man would be when he saw the news.  

She had only intended to get Kamiki-kun to help the three girls source for an apartment for them to organise their sleepover together in Shibuya since he was staying in that very area. And it was agreed by them that since Mirai-chan had to return to PARCO Shibuya nearly daily for her play, Shibuya was the ideal place for the girls to stay in that period of time. Hence no one thought that it was unusual when Kamiki-kun recommended for them to stay in one of the apartment in his neighbourhood.

The young actor was confident that location was an ideal one because he had never encountered any sort of Paparazzi in the neighbourhood since moving in two years ago.

“Didn’t Kamiki-kun say that there were no paparazzi around that area?” It was as though Kawahima Umika had read her mind as she brought up that one point which confused her since reading about that scandal.

“Ne… Umika-chan, don’t you find it strange how the three of us have been entering the apartment but only Mirai-chan was captured by the photographer?” Ohgo Suzuka stared at the headlines written on the magazine cover thoughtfully, “surely the three of us have been captured by that photographer on a number of occasions if that guy has been following up for the whole week. But why did that photographer only chose to reveal Kamiki-kun and Mirai-chan instead?”

Alerted by her question, Kawahima Umika had an uneasy feeling as she thought about it, “what if… what if the reporter was following Mirai-chan all these while? You do remember how she was followed earlier this year by the same magazine when they reported on how she was spending time playing doll-catching machine and meeting up female friends? What if… they haven’t given up trying to catch Mirai-chan doing something she shouldn’t after all these while?”

“The Horikita Maki effect! That magazine must have targeted Mirai-chan because she was voted recently as the number one female artiste whom they do not wish to be married! If Mirai-chan were to have a scandal following Horikita-san, it would be one of the biggest news this year!” Ohgo Suzuka gasped sharply as she recalled how their best friend was said to have replaced the newly married Horikita Maki as the new idol of those Otakus.

“This is going to hurt Mirai-chan most,” Kawahima Umika whispered softly as she thought about what Ohgo Suzuka had said, “Just like how the netizens reacted violently to Horikita-san’s marriage.”

It was needless to say, as female artistes, both Ohgo Suzuka and Kawahima Umika knew perfectly well how a scandal could break an artiste. Even the greatest among them had suffered from the cruel words of the netizens; it was not hard to imagine the same for their best friend.

“Should we call her?” Kawahima Umika questioned in doubt, she was sure that as her best friend, she would want to be there for their friend, but knowing Mirai-chan, she would rather not to be disturbed in a time like this.

“She’s preparing for her play in Kitakyushu, this would not be a good time to trouble her with these. You know how much of a perfectionist she is when it comes to work, she would never let this news disturb her,” Ohgo Suzuka sighed softly as she commented about their stubborn friend. If there was one thing which Suzuka admired most about Shida Mirai, it would be her ability to concentrate on getting work done despite all situations.

Nodding in agreement, Kawahima laughed at her words, “Mirai-chan is scary when it comes to work. She is so serious about work that she scares everyone off. I know Yamada-kun finds it difficult to approach her when she is in this mood. She is the most hardworking artiste of our age!”

“The same for Kamiki-kun but I think he hid it better in front of Mirai-chan than Yamada-kun. That poor boy didn’t have the courage to speak to Mirai-chan until our second year!” Ohgo Suzuka smiled as she remembered seeing the young idol practising what to say to their cute little friend in the classroom during their first year.

“But he got better now! Yuri-kun said that he saw Yamada-kun messaging Mirai-chan on Line recently,” Kawahima argued passionately for her favourite couple, “it’s fated how they got to know each other when they were younger and how Yamada-kun almost shared the same birthday as Mirai-chan!”

“Kamiki-kun knew Mirai-chan since they were kids too!” Ohgo Suzuka countered her friend, “you forgot that Mirai-chan and him are both known as the genius actor and actress of our age. They would have share more similarities instead!”

“No! YamaShi is better suited!”

“KamiShi is going to make the news!”

“Mirai-chan hasn’t said anything about them has she?”

“She’s still repeating that line she has uttered in Tantei Gakuen Q?”

“Yeah… Friendship was what she said whenever I asked her.”

“Hmmm I do think that sometimes her intelligent can be overrated.”

“Nah… she just couldn’t see what is in front of her as usual, with or without contact lens!”

Kawahima Umika tried to manage a serious look as she drawn a conclusion about their hopelessly ignorant best friend, but a giggles from Ohgo Suzuka ended her act and made her join in the laugher.

Somewhere in Kanagawa, a petite looking young girl was in the midst of pack her bag when she sneezed out of the blue.

“The weather must have been getting colder, I should prepare more coats to bring along for the trip tomorrow,” the young actress frowned slightly at her reflection and thought nothing of the sudden sneeze as she continued to pack her bag for the upcoming trip to Kitakyushu.

AN: This little plot got hold of my mind suddenly as I wonder what would the rest of the D class students feel about the KamiShi rumor... It's for a laugh but somehow I am imagining Ohgo Suzuka and Kawahima Umika aurging for their favourite couple. Hope this made you smile as it did when it comes to my mind.
