So for a Halloween party on Friday night, I dressed up as a black cat, how original, right? I was fully prepared to dress up as it again for Halloween night, but I got bored with the idea by 11:00am that morning. So what do I do? I made my own original costume from things I had in my closet and $12 (technically $2 cuz I had a gift card) of supplies at Walgreens.
I bought an orange hoodie, a bouncy ball, red nail polish, and a pair of black gloves. 

What could I possible have been?

A Pokemon trainer!!!

Seriously, I went full nerd this Halloween.

The first thing I did was paint the bouncy ball with a couple coats of red, white, and black nail polish to make the perfect pokeball. The next thing I did was cut the sleeves off the hoodie to make a vest. I cut off the cuffs of both sleeves and the fingers of the gloves to make fingerless gloves that tied in the outfit. With one of the sleeves, I folded it into a headband. Then I took a white eyeliner and drew the pokeball symbol on the headband and on a camisole I had lying around. Then I put on a gray pleated skirt and some spandex and a pair of thick, white knee socks and my brown ankle boots and called it a day. This whole project took 3-4 hours of my Halloween afternoon. Then I did my makeup a few hours before I went to a party. Now I don't have any full-body shots of the whole costume because I was kinda drunk when I took my selfies and I didn't really think to take one of the whole costume. Maybe one day I'll get around to that. 

Not a lot of people understood my costume, but that's okay. Once I showed them the pokeball they got it right away. My friends who play Pokemon appreciated the surprise and I thought I was pretty darn cute! >///<
