Slice of life, simply because I would get valuable life lessons and it isn't too crazy.

I'd rather have a mix. Give them their "typical" characteristics but add in something else so that they aren't bland.

Well rounded character and character development. Characters are what sell a story to me. The plot may be subpar but if the characters are kickass, sign me the hell up.
