— Dark? I'm born from darkness: Daughter of maleficent, being a villian is in her blood. fairies, animals, hapiness? none of that was ever apart of melanie. She thrived in her solitude, her mothers minions as her only friends growing up. Everyone knew her mother, after all, she put the curse on aurora did she not? well, being the kid of a villian isn't easy. she was always outcasted because of her mother so she learned to fend for herself at an early age. she has a bleak outlook on life and is quite the pessimist. she's always the first to spout her cynicisim.
_ Rebellious? How else was i supposed to be noticed?: Just because she didn't fit in with the good crowd, didn't mean she didn't fit in anywhere else. Like the other offspring of villians, she was often found breaking the rules. she hung out with the wrong crowd, the kind of crowd that would land her in more trouble then just a slap on the wrist. and her mother? her mother didn't discipline her. no, she encouraged it. She wanted her daughter to take after her and so far, she's done a pretty good job. melanie is often arrested for tagging and grafitti as well as trespassing on private property. she likes the attention it brings, even though bad, because at least then she actually deserves her title as maleficent's daughter, right?
_ Sensitive, because every brick wall has a weak point: When you strip down all of melanies walls and guards, she's actually a very sensitive, heart broken girl running from the stigma of her mother. despite her harsh actions and words, melanie actually cares alot about what other people think of her and how they treat her. She snears at the whispers, sure. And she laughs at the disgusting rumors, fine. But that didn't mean they hurt any less. Melanie actually cries a lot, holding all of her sadness deep inside. She wants to be good, longs to be good, but what's the point in trying when everyone only see's you as "the daughter of that wicked maleficent."
BACKGROUND »
— born in her mothers castle, life was lonely for melanie. Growing up, she never knew of her father, her mother telling her that he went to a far off land and wouldn't be back for a long time. On her 10th birthday, she found out that he left. because he couldn't bare the thought of an evil child. he couldn't bare the thought of being associated with someone has terrible as her mother. it made her angry, sad, lonely. it scarred her. everything she went through was because of her mother. because of what her mother did to prince phillip and princess aurora.
She was a good child at first, went to school, did her homework, played nicely with the other kids but once their parents had found out whose child she was, they had told their children to stay away from her, to ignore her, because she would turn them evil or put a curse on her. she became used to isolation after that, all alone in her mothers castle far away from anybody. She grew dark, cynical, and bleak. what was the point in trying? she would never be given a fair chance, so she decided to change.
After none of the children would play with her, she started to resent her mother. resent herself. she looked just like her mother, except for her eyes because apparently those were from her absent father. wanting nothing to do with her mother she changed. she would cast her mother out, ignore her, pretend like she didn't exist. she would be just melanie. no last name, no relation to maleficent, just melanie.
On her sixteenth birthday, she dyed her hair platinum blonde, the farthest thing away from her natural black hair from her mother. she started to change her style, from all sorts of colors to black, black, and more black. if people were going to think her evil, fine. she'd give them reason to think it. that year she made new friends, friends who didn't care about her lineage because all they cared about was breaking the law and having a good time.
After her most recent run in with the law, her mother decided too send her away to a camp for the summer in attempts to keep her estranged daughter out of trouble. it was called ever after camp. melanie didn't want to go of course, she knew what kind of kids would be there, but her mother was having none of it and used her magic to forcer her to go.
needless to say, melanie wasn't happy.

— coming from a family of honor, jb was treated well all his life. some even considered him to be a prince in his own right, because of his good looks. he's lived a relatively normal life, never having to worry about much, until he met melanie, the mysterious girl in a leather jacket with bleach blonde hair.

— i really think that, as the author you will know how to write this better then i will because it is your story and you'll know what goes in it after all, so instead let me give you the gist of how i imagine their dynamic to be.
— melanie comes from a disgraced family, jb comes from a highly respected family. they are complete opposites in dress and personality but they are still drawn to each other. melanie is drawn to his good family background, while jb is drawn towards melanies hidden sadness and sorrow. he spends all summer trying to get to know her, open her heart up, and fix her, but he didn't think he'd fall in love with her. and he certainly never thought she'd end up kissing him underneath the big oak tree in the forrest at midnight.
— melanie knows this is wrong. she knows she shouldn't let him in, because she would never be accepted by his family. she would bring great dishonor because of whose blood runs through her veins. jb knows he shouldn't let melanie get into his heart. he knows if he has to choose between honor and dishonor, he'd choose to honor his family. even knowing his elitisim would hurt her, he couldn't stop his heart from still wanting her.
so basically, he's going to see her as a mysterious challenge and he's going to want to open her up and fix her. she's envious of jb and wants what he has, so she tries to get closer to him. neither expected to have feelings for the other, but jb knows he'll end up hurting her in the end. but there will be a happy ending and they'll end up being together in the end.
