What Not To Do When Sending Off Your Manuscript

Hi, guys.

I've just read through my wordpress' timeline and I just can't help but share it here. I believe there are many great writers here who's aiming to get their manuscript published in RL.

I was smiling while reading it. Those promblem listed were not only for publishing company, guess it happened everywhere xD

And there's this thing that catch my eye:

What to Include:
Never include character bios unless they are specifically asked for. It’s normal for publishers to want a synopsis with your story. This should NOT include bios. When you send in a submission with character bios, you are saying “I don’t think I’ve described my character well enough in the text, but the information isn’t important enough to be in the synopsis.”

See?

Tbh, I only found authors who wrote their character bios specifically on AFF and never on other sites. I don't understand how and why it spreads. And I especially dislike it since I have slow connection and it slowed me down greatly.. :(((

You can read it for yourself here: http://ryanlanz.com/2015/08/02/what-not-to-do-when-sending-off-your-manuscript/

Thanks for the tip!! I usually don't write character bios on AFF...but actually thought that I might need to if I ever want to send in a manuscript! XD So, you've just stopped me from doing such silly thing somewhere down the road. ^^

I've seen in randomly on fanfiction.net a long time ago, but it's true, it's kinda weird, but i guess it's just a convention of AFF. write to your market, you know?
