Ok, no one is plagiarising anything. So they have the same backing music and sound?. It's more likely that the record label bought the rights, or already had the rights to the original song, took out the Korean words, and added in words in their own language. Did you know that Run Devil Run was originally a demo for Ke$ha? Then SM bought the rights to the track, packaged it with Korean lyrics and gave it to SNSD. Labels do that all the time. This isn't "Plagiarism of KPOP". This is a mixture of "There is little originality left in the recording industry, and money hungry labels are now just rehashing songs from other artists instead of developing new sounds." and "KPOP artists wouldn't make it big in most other countries because they don't have a gimmick that we can laugh at." Ok, for that last one, it's more the UK and US, and I'm basing that only on the reactions I've seen to PSY. He's not a bad artist, but he was advertised on our radio stations because of his weird dancing. He got to number one in the UK charts based on that alone. He wasn't taken seriously as an artist, nor does he really take himself that seriously. And it is our ignorance that has had me explaining that Gangnam is actually a district in Seoul, so it would be like me releasing a track about "Soho Style". Serious KPOP artists wouldn't make it here. The number of times that I, as someone who can't speak Korean, am asked why I listen to KPOP if I can't understand it, I've really lost count.

Also, if it was plagiarism, the labels would come down on everyone involved like a tonne of bricks, because they are the ones that own the rights to the songs. That hasn't happened, which says that there has been some sort of financial deal done that benefits the labels. Otherwise, why would they let it slide?
