Hello, everyone! I know that I have been missing from this website; my fanfics abandoned, my moderator works (not completely) neglected... I have to say that the past year since I graduated from my highshool was the hardest time for me.

Why? Because I couldn't continue my study. Unfortunately, my family is in a really bad financial condition.

I was really happy to be awarded as the Best Graduate and Best Student of class 2014 upon my graduation. Those awards actually helped me to hunt for scholarships too. You see, I was trying to search scholarships AFTER I graduated, not before. This is because I have it in my mind since I was in the 10th grade that no matter what, I couldn't continue my study to the university because of the financial condition.

I have always wanted to continue my study in Broadcasting major. Although I can immediately go to work since I was graduated from a Vocational school, I prefer to study first. Because without a degree, I can't work in the Broadcasting/TV companies (Emailed several companies already and they asked for my bachelor diploma, which I haven't had yet obviously).

And I also have a dream which no matter what, I inted to achieve: becoming a travel reporter and have my own travel/tourism TV show.

When my oldest brother said that I could get a scholarship, I frantically tried to search for one during the last weeks before my graduation day. I was offered 25% tuition waiver in Curtin University (Singapore & Australia) since that was the only scholarship that they have, and also a 50% scholarship in HELP University (Malaysia).

Sadly, I have to let both of them go because I still couldn't afford the remaning fee. Not to mention the scholarships only applied to tuition fee, not accomodation, books, living stipend, etc.

Since last year I keep on trying to search for scholarship and finally stumbled on a Turkish Government Scholarship website. Too bad right at that time when I found the scholarship (November), the application was closed. And so I hoped and prayed that next year--this year--I can join this scholarship, while still trying to find for other full scholarships (I sent an application for the Australian Government Scholarship too).

The Turkish Government Scholarship is a full scholarship for Undergraduate (Bachelor), Postgraduate (Master) and Doctorate (PHD). Finally after waiting for so long, the application for the scholarship opened at February and ended at April. I had to wait for around one month before I got the invitation for the interview.

And now one and a half month later, I finally got my LOA yesterday. And guess what? 

YES I GET THE SCHOLARSHIP!

I literally dropped my phone and immediately hugged my mother who happened to be right beside me at that moment. Saying that I am happy is an understatement. After more than a year after my highschool graduation day, I can finally continue my study again.

I am proud of myself to be able to get this full scholarship, because there are lots of people applied for it (from what I have read more than 180 countries). Not only that, this scholarship basically  INCLUDES EVERYTHING from 1 year of Turkish language class, 100% free of tuition fee, books, accomodation, flight tickets, living stipend, insurance, etc.

Even though Turkey is far from where I live right now, it doesn't matter to me as long as I can continue my study and fulfill my dream. Anyway, Turkey is a beautiful country and it has been on my top 10 list of the countries that I want to visit in the future. The things there are less expensive too which also add to the benefits since it means I can save my money.

Right now I am waiting for the follow up email to know on where will I be placed since I choose 10 universities for the Radio/TV/Cinema major. And then I have to sign for the contract, handle the visa and documents, prepare things to bring, yadayadayada.

P.S: Every year the application opens around Feb/Mar and usually ends around Apr/May. Be sure to check the application date and the list of countries that are eligible to apply.
