There have been occasions when I've complained about people being too prying into my personal stuff online, such as demanding to know my name, age, where I live, what I look like, etc., including harassing my friends on here for that information.

I've always been a private person and don't talk about myself much until I get to know somebody or feel comfortable with them, and that's just in general.  Online, where everything you write or post gets stored in cyberspace and can be unearthed by somebody who really wants the information, I'm naturally much more guarded about it.

It's creepy.

It's creepy and terrifying that somebody can access private and personal information about you if you're careless, and do whatever the hell they want with it.  Like creating a fake personality, or stalking you, or harassing you, or stealing your identity, or ruining your life.

Sometimes the internet is merciless and unforgiving; sometimes it's the people connected to it.  Whenever somebody gets agressive about wanting to know stuff about me rather than just shrugging it off after I say "I'm not comfortable sharing that, sorry", I always wonder why they're so keen to have that information, why it really matters for them to get it, and exactly how obsessive they must be to chase after that small bit of information.  (This has happened to me a few times.)

I know it's a personal choice for everybody as to whether or not they're comfortable sharing stuff about themselves online, but the lack of internet security sensitivity I see on here sometimes actually terrifies me.  I'm not saying don't have facebook/instagram/AFF accounts or anything, but be careful about the stuff you post and the security settings you have on your accounts.
