IMPORTANT & TOUCHING

I decided to post this because today I saw something Newyear posted on Instagram.

What is BothNewyear, you ask? I'll explain. Nattapong Chinsoponsap (Both) and Kitiwhut Sawutdimilin are a Thai couple. Both of them are models (and Nattapong also hosts Asian Heroes) and both of them are guys.

Yes, you read it correctly. BothNewyear is a gay couple from Thailand. They have been dating since 2012, are happy together and so freaking adorable!

Newyear (@newyear_kitiwhut) said this in the post I mentioned earlier:

'We have gone through many obstacles to get where we are right now. What you see seems like a fairly tale. But actually we have fought a lot to express our love in the public- you may know it is not easy at all to come out of the closet and tell the world that we are gay in the conservative society. However, if we do not do so, we do not live. We just want to live as every couple does. We do support the gender equality. Love is not just for men and women, but it  is for us all. Do not be afraid to stand and tell the world the love in your own definition. Our love between P'Both and me is constructed brick by brick, not suddenly just the infatuation. We are not the couple who obsessed with the fame. We do love each other- it is more than three years we have stayed together. I think it has proven many thing that our love is the real love or even affection. Today, we expect nothing, but just live day by day with the one I love the most, P'Both.

Today, I really want to tell every fan club we feel deeply appreciated with the morale and invaluable feedback you have given us. They mean so much and so precious more than you thought. We embrace it all.

Thank you all for supporting us during past few years. Without you we cannot get we are. We deeply appreciated and we embrace them all. (Newyear, April, 4, 2015) @both #bothnewyear 🐻🏃🙌

This post touched my heartstrings so much. I can't even imagine all the struggles they've been through, just to be together. To come out of the closet is already a big and hard decision, but in a conservative society (although I believe Thai society is one of the most tolerant Asian societies. They also have a number of BL dramas) things must have been even tougher. Nonetheless, they did it and I have so much respect for that. They still have jobs and it seems like the society has accepted them. I hope it's a sign of growing open-mindness (is that even a word?).

Here's what I replied to the post:

@newyear_kitiwhut 'You touched my heartstrings with your beautiful words! I truly hope you and @both will always be happy and that you will enjoy a long and healthy life together. Like you said, you've been through a lot but that's what shapes a beautiful relationship like yours. I don't give a damn about gender, if two people love each other they should be able to show it to the world. Love is a beautiful thing. I will always support the two of you. Long live BothNewYear!!'

I mean every word of what I wrote. Why must gay people hide? Why are some people so hateful towards them? It just isn't fair! Both and Newyear are an example of 'What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger'. They've jumped over the obstacles and were able to be with the one they love the mosr. I hope for them to continue to cherish the special bond they have.

Go BothNewyear!
