Red Skys and Royal Cards“My name is Luhan, Master.” Said the Warrior still at my feet, he still had a little emotion in his voice but it was slowly going away as he regained his composure.
I didn’t want that emotion to go away. I liked his voice when his emotions played through his words. He truly sounded like an angel in those moments.
My tears had yet to stop but I wasn’t chocked up at all, my voice was smooth and soft, “I like your name, Luhan, but please, keep the emotion in your voice. I hate when you talk as if you have no feelings at all.”
He was going to be harder to crack than the other two, but I was up for the challenge. I would just have to keep my temper and stubbornness in check around this Card. I looked over at my other two Warriors, they still had that sadness clouding their eyes.
Smiling at them I watched as they struggled to smile back, trying to show that they were staying as strong as they could. Unlike all the other Warriors, mine seemed so human, and I like that. I evened the playing field a little between this.
Luhan looked up at me, tears still visible swimming in his eyes. The hidden pain so clear deep in his eyes, and I had done nothing to help him at all and I need to try and repair the damage I’ve done.
Now to see how well I am at comforting people. Looking back on my actions, I know I went overboard, but sometimes I just can’t help it. Being around these Warriors is going to test my limits and I’m going to need to work on my control. This wasn’t going to be as easy as I thought it was at first, but I was up for the challenge as long as these boys were here with me along the way.
Luhan was still slumped on the ground as he watched me with fearful eyes that still swam with heavy tears. Getting off the chair I kneeled down in front of him and wrapped my arms around him, trying to give him some form of comfort. I felt him stiffen when I touched him and I felt my heart ache at that single move.
“Please don’t be afraid of me” I said to him with so much care in my voice. My arms still wrapped gently around him in a caring hug.
His arms hung limply at his sides, small whimpers leaving his lips. I never let him go, not once. I was going to show him I cared and I meant no harm. I wanted to fix what I did and what happened to him in the past. I was not going to break this boy.
“She won’t hurt you, Luhan.” D.O said softly from the couch watching us.
“She isn’t like our other Masters, Luhan. She truly means what she says.” Chanyeol threw in.
Luhan shook a little in my arms before slowly relaxing and giving in to me. I don’t know if he just gave up or was beginning to trust me, but this was a step in the direction I wanted our relationship to go. I hugged him a little tighter to show him that everything was going to be okay now.
“I’m sorry for earlier, Luhan. I shouldn’t have done that.” I said solemnly, not looking at him. “If I could take it back, I would. I don’t want you to see me like every other Dealer you have belonged to before. I’m different and nothing like them, so please, can we start over?”
I turned to face him after I asked to start over. He was looking at me with his deer like face. He tilted his head trying to figure me out. His tears dried up and soon disappeared. I smiled seeing him go back to something a bit more normal. I wanted him to be himself, but not that emotionless stoic Warrior he was at first. From what I have seen, he does have a personality in him and I want him to show it.
“Why are you apologizing to me? I’m only your Warrior. I’m nothing.” He said curiously.
“You are not nothing.” I growled. I hated the way he viewed himself. “You are my Warrior, yes. But you are not nothing. You will never be nothing with me. If you would just open up a little you will see how easy and fun it is around here.” I said kinder now.
I felt hands on my shoulders and looked up to see D.O and Chanyeol on either side of me. Both giving reassuring smiles down at Luhan, “She is different, Brother. We have freedom and choices, things we never got before. She honestly wants us to be happy.” D.O said.
Luhan watched us interact for a little before he finally decided to speak up; “This isn’t the way things are supposed to work. I’m a Warrior, I live to serve my Dealer.”
I really want him to see things differently, but I couldn’t change him in one day and I realize that now. I would
