Bloom Into You: Eventually, I Will Become Yours (Kkubi adaptation)

A/N: The original characters in this story had been adapted to fit Iz*One members and other characters. For example, in Bloom Into You (the original), Yuu (in this fic = Sakura) is shorter than Nanami-senpai (in this fic = Eunbi) but in this adapted fic I made it suits the real Sakura and Eunbi. So ‘Yuu’ aka Sakura is taller than ‘Nanami’ aka Eunbi. 

Disclaimer: There will also be some minor alterations. The story will use Japanese settings to be closely exact with the manga/anime. So please be closely reminded of Senpai, san and kun usage.

Also, this manga/anime/adaptation have lots of monologues. It will be marked with ‘ ’ and italicised. The chapters will be released according to the anime's episodes. Not the manga’s volumes.

Learning things for the first time is always scary.

A girl was laying on her bed. Mellow melodies filled her ears as she plugged her earphones.  It always so peaceful and content listening to a sweet love song.  Making her wonder a lot.

‘The love words in manga and love songs are always dazzling and shiny. I can easily understand them without searching for the meaning in a dictionary. I just wanted to feel them,’ she put her hand up in the air as if trying to grasp the feeling. Still in her wonder.

Thoughts continued to fill her mind as the night went. There are a lot of questions and wonders that don't seem to have an answer.

She was still puzzled when she woke up the next morning. She took a hot shower before cheerfully picking up the uniform. Ate her breakfast and bidding goodbye to her mum as she walked out the door.

As usual, she walked to school but the air was a bit cold. The wind blowing softly and it feels like this is going to be a good day.

The cherry blossom trees are aligned along the path in front of her new school entrance, which is a steep slope. Students in groups marched past her. She can certainly say that she has become used to seeing them in the same uniform. Seeing them in the same uniform, she can easily say that she have gotten used to them.

‘The cherry blossom trees already turning green', she realised when few petals fell onto her hair and she picked them softly.

She entered her classroom and took her seat.

'But there is still one thing I couldn’t let go of from my middle school…’, Sakura stared at an old conversation on her phone and sighed.

“Oi Sakura!” a loud voice calling out for the girl who's deep in her own thoughts.

“Huh? Yes?” the girl was dumbfounded.

“Who were you texting?” Yena and Hyewon came into her view.

“Oh! No one really.” Sakura quickly put down her phone and hid it inside her pocket.

“Do you have club activities today?” She asked the girls, trying to divert the attention from herself.

“Yup,” Hyewon answered shortly.

Yena has been a part of the basketball club since she's a skilled player. The new students are supposed to join a club, but Sakura has yet to do so.

“Did you decide on a club yet?” Yena asked her.

“Nah, I’m still not sure on which club to choose,” Sakura shrugged.

“You should hurry up and choose a club. The registration period is ending soon,” Yena warned.

“Yeah yeah. I know,” Sakura groaned, defeated.

“How about track and field?” Hyewon suggested. Well since this is an adapted fic from anime, our Sakura here is good with sport. Walao~

“Yeah, I had wondered about that one,” , “or maybe volleyball. Or even badminton. It is a high school after all. There are so many clubs. Maybe I can even join the culture club,” she answered.

Hyewon sighed. This is a typical case for Sakura, “Kkura ya, you are so indecisive. Haish.”

“Ha! I know! Join the basketball club!” Yena jumped onto Sakura, hand locking her and startling our poor Hyewon.

“Ahh… But won’t my height be a problem?” Sakura wondered.

“Ayye, that will be fine,” Yena tried to convince her.

“Oh, Sakura,” a voice calling out for her.

“Miyawaki Sakura,” the three friends turned their heads to the voice.

“I see you still have not decided about your club yet. Well, how about joining the student council?” the owner of the voice, that is their Mathematics teacher said.

Sakura was dumbstrucked, “Student council?”

“That sounds boring,” Yena scoffed.

“Eyy it’s not boring,” Mr Lee Seunggi smiled at the girls. “Our school student council is very active. It’s fun, just like a club.”

“Student council....” Sakura pondered. “Can I go and observe it first?” she asked. This boring and sketchy council somehow sounds interesting to her. Maybe she could give it a try first.

Mr Lee Seunggi was shocked to see her reaction, “Oh, you’re interested? That would be a great help!”

“Huh? Great help?” ‘okay what have I gotten myself into?’

And so, it was the time the truth got dropped…

Their teacher smiled and said, “Soon, the student council will be doing an election. They were looking for people who can help with the preparations. I am really glad that you are willing to help.”

“You… you mean…”

Damn, fall down was the squirrel into the iceberg. Sakura literally got tricked by their teacher.

“I can’t believe I just got tricked by him,” she sighed. “But whatever. It sounds interesting anyway, so it’s okay.” Sakura takes another look at the mini map drawn by her teacher. 

“He said it is here…” and by ‘here’ Sakura is now at the deeper part of their school compound, walking beside the additional building she never knew existed. Part of her was thinking if she actually got tricked twice by Mr Lee Seunggi. But she kept on walking anyway.

“What a strange place for such a club room. Is it really here?”

“Sorry I asked to meet you here,” a faint male voice took her by surprise. ‘Is there someone there? I wonder if the voice is coming from here’.

Sakura peeked from behind the wall and saw two figures not far from her spot, ‘There he is.’

“Eunbi, would you please go out with me?!” the boy asked, or more like screaming actually.

‘Oh yeet!’ Sakura quickly hid behind the wall again.

“I like you!” the boy exclaimed. Sakura just gulped down as she heard the words but part of her still wanted to know what’s happening. So our dear flower peeks again, anticipating on how the girl will respond.

“I’m sorry but I can’t be your girlfriend,” the girl politely rejected the boy. Somehow, the girl make it sounds so straightforward but also soft saying such thing. Sakura wondered if she can ever do the same thing.

The boy sounded devastated as he rubbed his head and weakly said, “Ah I see… I knew it, Eunbi-san and I are way too different from each other, I bet it won’t work out anyway..”

“Hey, don’t say that. Don’t blame yourself for this,” “It’s just that, I have no intention to go out with anyone no matter who they might be.”

Sakura was astounded by how easy it seemed for the girl to reject the boy. She had to have had a lot of experience. Evidently, this girl had piqued her curiosity.

The girl waved goodbye to the boy and waited until he was out of sight before moving.

“That was it then,” she sighed and then turned around, to where Sakura was hiding. “Anyone there? Just come out now you, whoever you are”.

Sakura is sure that the girl is calling her out and that she has no way of escaping. So she leapt from her hiding place and apologised right away, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop. I just happened to be here. I am really sorry!” she bowed 90° to the said girl.

Weirdly, the girl just smiled and pointed directly to her face, “Don’t tell anyone about what you just saw, okay?”

“Yes I won’t tell anyone!” Sakura reassured her.

“Are you a new student? What are you doing here?” the girl asked, her charming smile still on her face.

“Uh, I’m looking for the student council room,” , “my teacher told me it was around here.” Sakura answered.

“Ah, that place? Yeah, it can be quite confusing,” the girl walked past her and Sakura just stared in bewilderment, ‘This girl is kinda weird’

Sakura realised the strange girl was showing her the direction when she pointed straight ahead, "Let's go," she said.

The two of them walked together towards wherever this weird (but beautiful) girl is taking her. Someone should really remind Sakura to not carelessly follow people. But this is a fic so it’s okay because I put no danger ahead. Phew~

“Well it used to be a calligraphy room before,” the weird girl started small talk.

“Ahh… I see,” Sakura not knowing what to answer.

She secretly took a glance at the girl and noticed her different coloured ribbon, ‘She must be a second year student.’

“But now at this school, the only fine arts classes are music and arts. So the calligraphy room isn’t used anymore and that is why they gave it to the student council.”

Sakura awed of the new info, “You know a lot about this school," she said to the weird girl.

“Yeah, well…” there was a pregnant pause in her answer but she quickly continued, “So you must be the first year student who’s coming to help today, right?”

“Eh? Y...Yes..” Sakura stuttered. ‘How did she know about that? She must be someone.’

The weird girl stopped walking as they arrived in front what could be the clubroom.

“We’re here,” the weird girl said.

“Is this the...” Sakura didn't managed to complete her sentence when the girl finished her words.

“Student council room,” she said. There is a halo of what could be her aura surrounds the girl. All of a sudden, the wind from the nearby forest blew and the cinematic anime scene took place. The wind blew over the girl’s hair and Sakura swore she looked more ethereal than before.

Then she turned around facing Sakura, still with her pretty smile, “I am Kwon Eunbi. The student council member.”

Oh shucks~ Sakura’s breath was stuck at , “N...Nice to meet you.”

*Next day…

Sakura was once again staring at her phone, not knowing what to do. She got lost in her mind as usual.

“Sakura…” Hyewon called her softly.

“Oi Sakura!” Yena’s loud voice brought her back to reality.

“Huh? Sorry…”

“So how was the student council? I heard it’s pretty busy. Will you go there again?” Hyewon asked.

“Hmm… I’m still thinking whether or not should I go," She shrugged. "Oh, but there was a cool senpai,” her tone got an octave higher and her face beamed with excitement.

“Whoaa,” Yena’s interest peaked, “So you are finally interested in someone?”

“No, this senpai is a girl,” Sakura shut her off. 

“Tch… What a bummer,” Yena got devastated by 20%. She thought the time had finally come to when Sakura have some interest in love.

“But she is really cool though,” , “she’s so good at her work. She’s pretty and also kind. Her name is Kwon Eunbi,” Sakura, full of enthusiasm describes the new senpai she met at the student council yesterday.

“Oh.. I know her. Somehow she is more popular than the president since her first year,” Hyewon added.

“You said ‘cool’, so I expected it to be about a guy,” Yena chimed in. Sakura had no interest in talking about herself. So she tried diverting the topic again.

“Oh Yena, how’s basketball going? You didn’t tell us anything about it” Sakura said.
