Now three months had passed since Exo-K had come from planet Exo. It seemed like they had no intention of going back. All of you forgot where they had really come from. It was like they had been with you your entire life. That’s how natural and normal it felt for the 7 of you to be together. It was hard to imagine life without those crazy aliens to highlight your day.
You woke up to the gentle sound of rain pitter-pattering against your windowpane. You slowly opened your eyes and stayed very still. You didn’t dare breathe but your heart beat slowly and steadily. *It’s raining.* You finally exhaled.
Sluggishly, you sat up in bed and looked around. It was the weekend and there were many things to catch up on including chores and homework. *I don’t want to though…* With a little grumble you walked towards the bathroom to wash up. Downstairs, Exo-K was already awake.
Sehun worriedly gazed out the window with his fingers pressed against the window. His breaths created fog on the glass.
“Sehun, what are you doing?” Suho asked. He spun around with a worried look, “Hyung, it’s raining.”
Suho thought of you and turned quiet. Chanyeol, Baekhyun, D.O., and Kai came over. They were all thinking of the same thing. Last time it was raining you had been depressed and even cried. They hoped that wouldn’t happen again.
They heard a soft thump and looked up. You came down the staircase in warm clothing. You weren’t alert as usual and descended from the staircase like a zombie. Kai approached you in concern, worried that you would trip more often than usual. “Star?” He called.
You stopped walking and looked up to see six apprehensive faces staring at you.
“Are you okay?” Kai asked.
You blinked several times, as if you were absorbing his question. Then you answered, “Of course. Why wouldn't I be?”
“Because last time-“ Sehun started but Baekhyun stopped him. “We just thought you looked preoccupied, that’s all.”
“Oh. No, I’m perfectly fine. I just…have a lot on my mind.” You gave them a thin smile. Chanyeol was hurt by your effort to make it seem as if everything was okay. *I wish she would just lean against us. She knows that we’re always here for her, doesn’t she?*
“What do you want to eat for breakfast this morning?” You headed into the kitchen and they followed like security guards. “Eggs? Toast? Fried rice?” At that moment you received a text message. “Hold on.” You opened it up to find a message from Sara.
‘Bar closed today. Plumbing issues. Take the day off and tell your friends, too. It’s raining. Be careful. If you need to talk, call.’
You sighed and tucked your phone back in your pocket, “Guess what? No work today.”
“We don’t have to go to the bar today?!” D.O. asked excitedly. Suho slapped his shoulder. “Ow! What?!” D.O. asked. Suho shot him a look *How can you be happy when Star is like this?! Shame on you!* D.O. grumbled and rubbed his sore shoulder.
“I guess I’ll be able to finish my homework then.” Your tone didn’t sound all that happy though. You pulled out the frying pan and set it on the oven. You were about to take out the eggs when the doorbell rang. Seven heads turned towards the door. “I wonder who it is so early on a weekend morning… I’m not expecting anyone.” You walked towards the door and opened it.
