Cappuccino

Description

Victoria wanted to know the real name of her regular customer at Starbucks.

This is Khuntoria one-shot. Enjoy!

Foreword

"Good afternoon! Welcome to Starbucks!

Victoria greeted the newcomer without looking up from the counter when she heard the door chimed. She hurriedlyclosed the drawer of the cash register before turning her full attention to serve the newcomer. When she saw the customer, she slightly gawked at the sight in front of her.

He was handsome. Naturally handsome. He was tall, fair built with broad shoulders, full lips waiting to be devoured ravishingly, inviting brown orbs that can make you feel like drowning into his soul....and before Victoria could further embarass himself with her gawking, she cleared and opened to speak.

"Good afternoon sir, can i have your order?"

The man in front of her slightly smirked, his eyes twinkling playfully. He had caught the barista checking him out.

"I'll have a grande hot cappucino with extra shot please," the customer replied, staring intently at the barista.

Victoria could feel her cheeks getting warmer, she shifted her eyes around and she grabbed the tall cup and started writing his order on it.

"Can I have your name sir.." Victoria said and frowned when she hadnt heard the customer reply.

"Sir?" Victoria looked up at him, still waiting for his reply.

"Khun"

Victoria nibbled on her lower lip, trying to stop herself from trying out the name on her lips.

She hastily wrote the name on the cup and punched in the order on the cash register.

"Is that all, sir?" Victoria asked.

"Yes," and he handed Victoria the money and Victoria accepted it, her fingers nearly brushing the other's fingers, sending slight jolts.

The man didnt miss the jolts and he quickly retracted his hand. The blushing barista handed him the receipt and left the counter to prepare his drink.

Victoria quickly made the cappucino, not forgetting to add the extra expresso shots. When she was done, she called out when she found the customer waiting patiently by the table.

"Grande cappucino with extra shot for Khun!" Victoria called out. "Here you go sir," Victoria shyly smiled as she handed the cup with a few tissue along with it.

"Thanks!," he smiled in return and left.

"I hope to see you again.." Victoriawhispered softly to herself as she watched the customer leave the Starbucks.

"Good afternoon sir, can I have your order?" Victoria greeted with a bright smile.

He nodded his head in a friendly gesture with a small smile on his face, "I'll have a grande hot cappucino," he replied.

"No extra shot sir?"

He shook his head, "Not today."

"Name sir?" Victoria asked although he already knew. She just wanted to hear him say it.

"Nickhorn"

Victoria frowned. "Nickhorn..wasnt it Khun sir?" she questioned.

"I can use any name I want," the customer teased.

"Ah right...is that all?" Victoria asked, slightly frustrated and irritated because she didnt want to be fooled.

"Yes," and handed Victoria the money. Victoria gave him back the change and went prepare the drink.

"Khun? Nickhorn? Could it be he isnt korean?" Victoria wondered. "His name is weird."

"Grande hot cappuccino for Nickhorn!" Victoria called out and watched him approach.

"Here you go sir," Victoria said as she handed the cup to him.

"Thank you," the customer said and turned to leave.

"Come again!" she yelled after him.

The customer glanced behind his shoulder and smiled, "I will!" he said and left.

Victoria blushed, knowing that she was not discreet with her infatuation towards the customer.

"A customer was looking for you yesterday," her co-worker Amber, stated when Victoria arrived at work for the afternoon shift.

"Really? Who?" Victoria asked while she put on her apron and tied it behind her.

"Khunnie," Amber replied.

"Khunnie?" I dont know Khunnie..wait..Waid did he order?" Victoria asked.

"Hmmm......I think cappuccino,"

Victoria chuckled and shook her head with amusement, "I think I know now."

"Really? Who's he?"

"A regular customer who uses different naes. I dont think he gave out his real name. And..he's hot."

"Glad you think I am hot," Victoria and Amber spun around when they heard a voice at the counter.

How they didnt hear his arrival, they dont know. "Ah si..sir..good afternoon," Victoria stuttered with embarassment, Amber raised her brows as she watched her friend acts like a shy high school girl in front of her crush. Amber smirked and decided to leave Victoria alone.

"Amber? Where..?" Victoria fumbled with her words when she realized Amber was leaving her alone.

"Do your job, I got something to do," Amber stuck her tongue out and headed into the kitchen.

"That brat..I'll make her suffer," Victoria mumbled under her breath before she turned her attention to the customer.

"May I have your order sir?" Victoria asked, willing her embarrassment and shyness to disappear.

"The usual," he smiled.

"Grande hot cappuccino?" Victoria asked.

"Yes, with extra shot."

Victoria grabbed the cup and wrote the order on it.

"Name..sir," she asked, ready to hear what the customer would give.

"Khuntoria,"

Victoria chuckled, "Khuntoria then," she wrotethe name on the cup and punched in the order.

"You werent here uesterday," the customer said when he gave the money.

"It was my day off sir," Victoria said as she handed back the change along with the receipt.

"Ah. Every Wednesday?"

Victoria tilted her head, "I...for this month, yes and Sundays. Why do you ask, sir?

"Nothing, just curious," he gave Victoria a playful smile.

"Uh...right," Victoria said and went to prepare the drink.

Grande cappuccino for Khuntoria!" Victoria called out after she was done and as usual, the customer approached and took his drink.

"See you tomorrow, Victoria" the customer winked at him and left.

"Whaaaaaaaat? How did he knows my nae? Its not fair that I dont know his!" Victoria grunted as she entered the kitchen.

"Duh, obviously you're wearing a nametag." Amber rolled her eyes as she off the fork.

Victoria glanced down on her apron, where her nametag was pinned. "Right. Stupid me..wait Amber?! What are you doing?" Victoria yelled when she watched Amber ate another bite.

"Eating, what else?" Amber replied while chewing.

"I know you're eating but WHY are you eating the glazed donut?"

Amber shrugged on her shoulders. "Im paying for it, no worry and plus its not the first time," she said.

"Does manager knows?"

"Yes, Krystal knows and she always let me off, as long as I pay," Amber grinned.

The customer came back for the next 3 weeks during mid-afternoons. As much as Victoria enjoyed seeing him, she was starting to get weary of the different names the customer provided. Some of the names were repeated when he couldnt think of any.

"Name of the cup sir?" Victoria took a deep breath while she waited.

"Nickbuck."

"Dont you ever run out of names?" Victoria questioned while she wrote a new name on the cup.

"Almost running out though," he chuckled.

"Really? Are they only limited to a few characters you have mentioned?"

"yes," the customer smiled, amused that the barista was observant.

"But seriously sir, I know its none of my business but excuse me for asking. What brought you to make up different names when it is much easier for you to use your real name? I would understand that maybe its just for fun..but you are regular here and perhaps I thought I could get acquainted with..you, sir" Victoria said, feeling bold and courageous for saying what she had wanted to say a week ago.

The customer stared at him for a few seconds before smiling and nodding his head, "I'll give you a challenge, do you think you're up for it?"

"That depends. If you got it right by Saturday, you can, by all means, ask anything fro me. If you lose, then I'll keep coming up with more names."

"What do I have to do?" Victoria asked, looking very interested.

"You have to find out which one is my real name," the customer smirked.

"What? One of the names was your real name?" Victoria gasped.

"Yeap, think you can do it?"

Victoria bit on her lower lip and took a deep breath, "Okay, game on."

"What are you doing?"

Victoria jerked her head up and glanced at the clock, checking if her break was over. She let out a sigh when she realized she has 2 more mins left.

"Ah, Krystal. Just writing something..." she said when she glanced down on the notebook where she listed down the names she could remember.

"Are these...names?" Krystal frowned as she looked at it.

"Yes," Victoria shrugged.

"You...looked worried?" Krystal frowned, noticing her distressed appearance.

"It's just there is a regular and its been over 3 weeks. He keeps giving out different names and she knew I am...attracted to him. He gave me a challenge and I have to find out which one is real name," Victoria explained.

Krystal raised her brows at her, "Just like that?"

"Well..If i got it right, I can ask something from him."

"Really? If you do, what are you planning to do?" Krystl asked.

"Ask him out, a date," Victoria grinned.

It was the night before Saturday and Victoria was starting to get frustarted. She stared intently at the paper with the list of names. She's been trying to find out which aong the names was the real name and she had no clue at all.

"Maybe I should list the names according to the sae characters.." Victoria mumbled while she chewed the end of her pen.

She wrote the names down again, listed under different characters. She studied them for awhile until she realized something odd.

"He even added my name! Why I didnt realize this?!" Victoria gasped. "Youre, such a..tease!"

"Nichhorn....Nikon..KhunChul..Nichy..nah, that sounds like a girl name," Victoria crossed it out and other names that are for females.

"Khun..KingKong..yeish. Better cross them out." And there was more progress after she crossed out the names that she finds it weird.

And she was down to four names KhunNich, Nichkhun, Nickchul and Chulnick.

"I think I know now," Victoria smiled as she encircled it.

It was finally Saturday around 3 in the afternoon when the door chimed.

"Good afternoon, welcome to Starbucks!"

"Hi, Victoria," the customer greeted with a smile.

"Hello, sir," Victoria smiled back.

"I hope you didnt forget the challenge?" He asked.

"Of course not. The usual order sir?"

"Yes please."

"And the name?" Victoria asked.

The customer titled his head, "I think you should know by now," he said.

Victoria glanced at him, "I already do," she smiled and wrote the name on the cup.

"Really?"

"Yes."

"What?"

Victoria showed the cup to him and the customer glanced at it. Victoria watched him until their eyes met.

Victoria smiled widely at him, "Would you like to go on date with me tomorrow, Nichkhun?"

And Nichkhun chuckled with a smile on his face, "I would love to."
