Description

JaeJoong was a whore. He called himself a "high-end personal escort" when anyone influential asked. His mother thought that meant "bodyguard." The only thing different between JaeJoong and the women on the street corners was that he willingly entered the field, and he enjoyed it.

Foreword

He was sitting on a bench, licking a lollipop. It was sweet, all sugar and warmth and childhood. His mother told him not to stay out late, so he watched the sky to make sure it didn't darken before he arrived home. He was about to give in to the tantalizing fun of the swings when a little girl rushed to him, wrapping her arms around his middle.

"Oppa!" she cried, burrowing her face into his shoulder. He was familiar with girls crying - his sisters, always crying and clutching onto his tiny, babyish frame - so he secured an arm around her and patted her head.

Yeon Hee was always crying. She was a weak little girl, and he had to protect her. He was eight now, and two whole years older than her. He was big and strong. He had to take care of her.

Gasp.

JaeJoong's eyes flickered opened - Breath. Breath. Don't forget to breath - and he pulled himself up, hand flattening against his broad chest. He took a gasping breath and closed his eyes, steadying his breathing the only way he knew how. "Fuck," he muttered to the darkness - the hanging muskiness that had wafted off of him in his slumber. Those dream again - the dream that was never the same but always one, of children running around, of being care free with YunHo and Yeon Hee and Changmin. Of being a kid again. Off before Yeon Hee moved and Changmin's mom became an alcoholic and his father lost his job and everything turned to shit.

He sighed when he finally calmed, ruffling his hair and glancing at the clock. 7:40. He had slept through the alarm - or maybe he hadn't set it. JaeJoong pushed himself to his feet and ambled bleary eyed to the bathroom, rubbing the sleep from his eyes with his fingertips - the bathroom was bright and florescent (as usual) and burned his eyes. He kept the light on anyways, splashing his face miserably.

JaeJoong stared at himself for a long moment, pushing his fringe back and considering the now-manly edge to his face; the broadness of his forehead, firm set of his jaw, wide eyebrows; the rounded nose and soft lips that always looked a little bruised, calligraphy scrolled eyes and rolling cheekbones that lent him a softer, feminine look. He sighed and dropped his hand - his hair fell with it, hiding his forehead and eyebrows - and turned the shower on, searching through the cabinets in order to find a clean towel; preparing for a day of restlessness and anticipation.

Hey guys! I've been gone for a while - this is what has had me away from you all, in case you're wondering :P This story is a fun distraction from my first fic. But that doesn't mean it's complete fun and games! Who do you think I am? lol. Many plot twists await!
I decided to switch genres for this one so I can have a break before I jump into my next Psychological/Horror Drama >D

I hope to make you cry with this one. So. Be warned.

For those of you wondering where the last chapter of AoO is, it's coming! Don't worry! It'll be here eventually! I'm just having trouble re-writing it. I absolutely, without a doubt, hate rewriting things. Hopefully this story will be enough of a distraction for you until it gets up! It has been for me :)
