Description
Fool's Paradise - (n.) a state of happiness based on a person's not knowing about or denying the existence of potential trouble.
Set in a dystopian world where society feeds upon only money and no moral, Irene spends her 17 year old life in the lowest faction of the 'economical pyramid' a.k.a. the Unemn.
The Unemns are untouched and shunned by those of higher caste systems.
Orphaned from birth, she relied on her survival instincts and her long best friend, Myungsoo, to survive.
She only holds two things dear.
One is her best friend and the only person she considers a family, Myungsoo, and second, a promise made under the cherry blossom tree that only blossoms every ten years with a certain someone when she was fifteen.
However, she was forced to run away and two years have passed since that certain someone has yet to keep the promise, so Irene convinces herself every day to think that he forgot such promises.
After all, they were promises made with someone she didn't even know their caste of.
But her heart doesn't allow her to.
Well, what if she finds out that the boy was someone that did not belong with her at all and tries to really forget all about it?
What if the boy didn't forget about their promises?
What will these two star-crossed lovers do in the middle of a rebellion where they're forced by their castes to be enemies of each other?
How long will they be able to stay in fool's paradise?
Foreword
Characters:
- Irene Scarlet - She is deemed as a strong girl. Physically and mentally. She is part of the rebellion group named VoN who are planning to overthrow the caste system. Currently seventeen years old and lives with Taeyong. Caste level = Unemn
- Myungsoo - An orphan who is a family-like friend to Irene. Very muscular and intelligence. Holds a pretty high authority within The Vengeance. Caste level = Daun
- Kai - Caste level = Eioel. The only son of one of the royal families. Seen by the public as charismatic and chic. Currently eighteen years old.
- Sehun - A friend of Kai. Eighteen years old. Caste level = Eioel
- VoN - A rebellion group that took Irene and Taeyong in while they were running away. Plans to overthrow the caste system. Most of the members' caste level are Severinus.
"I'm a coward. All my life, the only thing I learned to master was running away. Because it was comfortable. Because it was the easiest. But at the same time, I've always wanted someone to run after me and to catch me. To embrace me and to hold me in their arms tightly. To never let me go. To save me."
"I promise I'll come for you. I promise to never let you go. I swear it by this cherry blossom tree. I will never let you go. I will save you."
The Caste System
Eioel - the highest caste. Only consists of royal families who practically govern the country.
Xenil- the second highest caste. Consists of high military officials and ministries.
Oelos - the third highest caste. Consists of wealthy families, company/business owners, and military.
Daun -the fourth level caste. Consists of just plain workers, farmers, servants, and commoners.
Unemn - lowest caste system. Consists of slaves, orphans, the disabled, and the homeless.
Severinus - not considered in the caste system. Consists of those with criminal records, prisoners, and government announced rebels.

The caste system names might be hard to remember but if you look at the first words of each, it spells EXODUS so I hope that makes it better.
