Foreword

{Prologue}

My name is Toki. It means chance. My mother, who is Japanese, chose the name for me. She said that she wanted her daughter to have all the chances she could grab in life and treasure everything that was in her hands. My father had laughed and said Toki was a silly name, but my mother was free to name me whatever she wanted.

My father is Korean. He is the reason why we moved from our cosy town of Nagano to the bustling city of Seoul. I think I should thank my father, because he was the one who enabled me to meet Kibum. If we hadn't moved, I wouldn't have met the love of my life. But I should also be mad at my father, because meeting Kibum brought about so much pain and so much tears. But it also brought about lots of joy and lots of hugs, so I guess I don't have the right to be mad at my father anymore.

Both my parents wish for things at 11:11. I never got the concept, but from what I've found out from the Internet, my parents, and some know-it-all ahjummas, 11:11 is :

The time when the sun shines the brightest.

The time when birds sing the loudest.

The time when wishes upon a star come true.

The time when people fall in love.

The time for cookies and milk.

The time for reconcilation.

And by my own definition, 11:11 is the time for second chances.
