CHAPTER 38

"Not-So-Sweet Confession"

*HyunMi's POV*

 

The next day...

 

I woke up with something heavy on my head. I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in the living room. I remembered that I fell asleep on Oppa's shoulder. I gently turned my head up. It was Jinyoung's head that was heavy. Hehehe. It felt nice. I looked down and saw that our hands were still intertwined with each other. I just smiled to myself. Yesterday was really the best. I closed my eyes again, not wanting to leave his side now.

 

A few minutes passed, Jinyoung started making his 'I'm-waking-up' sounds. I pretended to be asleep. Kekek. He gently lifted his head, I started to move my head to rest it properly on his shoulder. Suddenly, I felt a hand caressing my right cheek. I decided that it's time for me to "wake-up" Kekeke.

I slowly opened my eyes and started to lift my head up, but he suddenly stopped me. Surprisingly, he lightly pushed my head back on his shoulder, and placed his head on top of mine like awhile ago.

 

"O-oppa?" I said with my morning, cracking voice.

"Let's just stay like this for some time" he said.... with his weird tone again. It kinda felt strange, but I liked it. I obeyed him and remained in that position.

"Gomawo Oppa" I said.

"For what?"

"For making my wish come true. And I had the best birthday because of all of you" I stated with much gratitude in my voice.

He brushed my hair with his hands. I also felt his lips curving up.

"Anything for you" he sweetly said. Oppa, why being so sweet all the time when we're alone? You're just like Taeminnie. *sigh*

 

Baro suddenly came out of the room, stretching his arms up.

That's new. Usually he would be dragged out by Sandeul every morning. Kekeke.

"Omo" he said as he turned his look at us.

We both jumped and seated properly.

"Uh... Good Morning Oppa" I greeted in a shaky voice. Ya, why am I like this?!

My heart was beating so fast. Surprised and nervous at the same time. Ob-waeyo!?

"G-good morning Baro" Jinyoung also greeted with a shaky voice.

"Uh... Good morning(?)" he greeted back with confusion of what was going on.

There was a moment of silence. Jinyoung and I were just sitting on the sofa, and Baro was still looking at us with suspicious eyes. The atmosphere had an awkward feeling.

 

"What time is it?" I broke of the silence. I just remembered that I still have school.

"6:00" Channie answered as he was coming out of the room

"Oh no!" I rushed towards my room. I fixed my things faster than before. I went inside the bathroom and took a quick bath.

"I'll be cooking~" Shinwoo-oppa shouted from outside

"Ah!" I answered back.

 

 

*skip skip*

 

 

 

School...

 

Ah~ made it on time! Taemin and the others are still waiting for me.

"Annyeong~" I sang as I panted when I reached them.

"You're late" Hyukjae scolded

"Mianhae"

"Where's the necklace I gave you?" Taemin said, eyeing my neck.

"I forgot it at home. Mianhae" I bowed

"You forgot the necklace but you remembered the bracelet and clip these two gave you" he mumbled and walked away. Oh no. He's mad. :(

"Oppa!" I called

"What!?" he answered coldly. He turned with one eyebrow raised.

"Mianhae" I said in low voice as I lowered my head down.

"Arasseo" he said with annoyance

"Oppa" I called again. I just can't stand it when he's mad at me.

He looked back at me and started to walk furiously. He grabbed my arm and started to drag me somewhere.

*Taemin's POV*

 

I dragged her to the dance studio in school. I wasn't mad at her at all. Well, I was really frustrated with myself. I didn't know, but I felt the urge to confess to her today.

I let go of her arm and walked two step away from her, letting my back face her.

"Oppa, I know you're mad. I'm really really sorry. I woke up late this morning and..." she started to explain. But I couldn't hear any of it because of the things running inside my head. Words were flowing rapidly inside my head. I struggled.

"I'm not mad at you" I said through my teeth.

"Then what's the matter?" she worried

"It's because..." I turned around and looked at her. My expression wasn't the cold one like awhile ago. She was surprised to see my expression. I wonder what it looked like? Kekeke.

"Because?" she asked seriously.

"Because the necklace says it all..." I thought, but I just let out a sigh.

"Ya" she stepped forward, my feet automatically stepped back. She paused and looked at me curiously from head to toe.

 

"Oppa" she called.

I just looked to one side, letting my hear cover my eyes.

"Oh, you're here already. Good." Seonsaeng-nim entered the studio. We quickly greeted her and bowed.

"Well, call the others so we could start practicing"  she commanded.

We nodded and headed outside to call our group. We were going to perform for this month's show. Every last day of the month, the school holds a special show for all levels. And this month it's our turn.

 

"HyunMi" I called from behind

"Ne?" she looked back

"I..." I trailed off

"Hmm?" she gave me a confused look. "Oppa, you're acting really strange today"

"Remember the thing etched behind the pendant of the necklace that I gave you?" I asked, ignoring the last thing she said.

"Ne. It's in Japanese right?" she said.

"Ne. Well, there is something that I really want to tell you today. But I can't spit it out. So just read the necklace and you'll find out" I winked.

"How can I read it if I don't know how to speak or read Japanese?" she sarcastically said.

I smiled and went to her side. I rested my arm on her shoulders.

"You're so weird at times Oppa" she said, punching my side lightly.

I let out a chuckled. I felt my heart easing up. The words rushing and pounding inside my head were gone. Finally~

*HyunMi's POV*

 

BREAK TIME~~~

 

Finally! Yoseob and I have been practicing the same thing for hours! >.<

"Finally~" Yang Yoseob-oppa sang

"Yoseobbie~ I'm tired~" I sang and fell into his arms.

"Me too HyunMi-ah"

"Oh come on. It was just 3 hours" Seonsaeng-nim said, encouraging us... I think

"Yes it was. But it was really hard!" Yoseob whined

"Aigoo~ these kids" she said and drank her bottle of water.

 

We walked towards where AnJi and the others were sitting at after talking with Seonsaeng-nim. I heard a loud gulp from Yoseob when were getting nearer.

"Wae?" I asked

"N-Nothing" he shrugged. We finally reached them. They were all sitting on the bench except for Taemin, who was standing and glaring at someone. Yoseob was standing behind me.

"AnJi~" I whined and sat on her lap

"Aish~ You're heavy!" she complained and pushed me off. Since I was really tired and my energy was drained, I let myself fall on the floor... hard.

"HyunMi-ah!" Yoseob exclaimed and reached out his hand at the wrong time.

"Owwww~!" I pouted

"Aish. This girl.." Yoseob said and helped me in getting up. He pulled my arm up and grabbed my waist for support.

"Ya!" Taemin warned coldly. Suddenly Yoseob's hands dropped and he looked away.

"Wae?" I asked.

"I-I better get going HyunMi" Yoseob said. Before I could make him stay, he fled.

"Tsk tsk!" Hyukjae said while shaking his head.

"Wae!?" Taemin asked furiously.

"Nothing" Hyukjae answered calmly. I was surprised that Hyukjae wasn't afraid of Taemin anymore. Wonder what happened?

Taemin just stood there quietly, still glaring at someone. Obviously he's irritated with something or someone, but he's cute to look at when he's like that. Kekeke.

 

"Ggggbbbbrrrrgggg~" my tummy growled.

"Ewww" AnJi said in disgust.

"I'm really hungry okay" I defended. "Let's go eat!" I dragged AnJi along, and she dragged Hyukjae along as well.

 

 

We were all sitting in the cafeteria, and I was the only one eating. Talk about awkward. But who cares? I'm hungry. Puahahaha. Yummy~ Chicken~ :D

"Churuchu chuchuchu~" my phone rang.

"Yoboseyo?" I answered with some food inside my mouth

"Ya, answer the phone when your mouth is empty pabo" Hyukjae said in disgust. I followed him and swallowed the remaining pieces of chicken inside my mouth.

"Yoboseyo?" I answered again with my mouth cleared

"Hehehe. HyunMi-ah. I know what the necklace says" Channie said on the other line.

"Jinjja?!" I said. I was surprised that he knew it right away. I just sent him a message not long ago to look for my necklace and translate it. He's the best! Hehehe.

"Ne. Well, it's really simple. It says, I love you." Channie simply said.

"Mwo?" I asked in disbelief

"I said: the necklace says, I love you." he repeated.

"That couldn't be..." I trailed off

"Wae? Who gave you this necklace anyway?" he asked with curiosity

"Ani. It's from my hoobae" I lied.

"Oh, okay. It's really easy to translate it since it's the first thing I learned during our Japanese lessons" he chuckled.

"Jinjja?"

"Ne. So I could tell all of the Banas in Japan that I love them" he said it in a cheesy way. It made me smile.

"You're so cheesy Oppa" I giggled

"I know. Kekek. You don't have work today, ne?"

"Ye. Wae?"

"Come home early, Jinyoung-hyungie said"

"Ya~ I didn't say anything like that" Jinyoung said in the background

"Heheh. Arasseo. Oppa, thank you. Annyeong" I said and hung up.

 

I sighed. The necklace says... "I love you". Eotteokhe!? May be Channie read it in a wrong way? May be it just looked like "I love you" in Japanese but it really means something else. Why would Taemin-oppa confess? He still likes Sunny-ssi... doesn't he?

 

I looked at AnJi and Hyukjae. They seem to be having a great time, laughing and giggling.

"Guys, does Taemin-oppa have a secret that he isn't telling me?" I interrupted them from giggling.

They looked at me with confused looks

"What do you mean? You know every secret that Taemin hasn't told us" AnJi stated.

"Yeah. Well, you're also his friends. Is there anything bothering him or something like that?" I asked. I couldn't get the right question out of my mouth.

They thought for a while but shook their heads at the same time.

"How about his... err... lovelife?" I stressed out the last word while looking at my food.

They fell silent. I looked up and they were looking at each other. They were having communication through their eyes or something. They were the only pair that can do that from the people I know.

 

Hyukjae suddenly nodded, and AnJi's eyes widened like she didn't like Hyukjae's answer.

Hyukjae turned back to me, his face was serious. He was about to open his mouth when AnJi covered it.

"Hajima!" AnJi exclaimed.

"Ob-waeyo?!" he asked, irritated for a bit.

"Let him be the one to say it." she told him calmly.

Hyukjae sighed and nodded in defeat.

"Say what?" I asked impatiently.

"Ask him" Hyukjae said.

"Him-who?" I struggled. I couldn't keep up with them.

"And I thought he already did it." Hyukjae mumbled.

"Give him time Hyukie" AnJi said

"Arasseo" he asnwered back.

"Yeah, thank you very much for that clear conversation guys" I said sarcastically.

"You're welcome HyunMi. Anytime" Hyukjae grinned.

"Nabbeun" I said and stuck my tongue out at him.

 

"Hey guys" Taemin said and sat down between AnJi and Hyukjae.

Hyukjae suddenly stood up and grabbed AnJi's arm.

"Kaja" he said while dragging AnJi outside the cafeteria

"Ya! Where are you going!?" I shouted since they were already near the door

"On a date!!" Hyukjae said, waving his hand.

"Mwo!?" AnJi asked. With the tone of her voice it seems there will be another arguement between those two.

 

Silence filled the big room as they left.

"Oppa, the necklace..." I decided to kill the silence. "...it doesn't mean I love you, right?" I half-joked

"W-wae?" he asked

"Nothing" I lied. He's keeping something from me. I just know it!

*Taemin's POV*

 

"Nothing" she lied

She already knows. This is the time. Good Luck Lucifer-- yeah, I call myself Lucifer since they say I'm a bad guy. Puah!

 

"HyunMi" I started off with my warm voice that I always do when we're alone.

"If I told you that I love you... will you believe me?" I manage to say it out smoothly. Well, fuck nervousness! Agh! Go away! >.<

She looked up, surprised. She didn't say anything.

I acted calm, "I know that you've figured out what the necklace says. I also know that you already know what I've been trying to tell you all morning." I paused and cleared my throat.

"HyunMi, the first time we met. I already had a crush on you. Since you're pretty and kind. I know that I still love Sunny back then, but there's nothing wrong with a little crush, right?"

 

She just continued looking at me and listening to the nonsense things that were coming out of my mouth.

"Well, after letting go of Sunny. I never imagined that I would love only you so fast. There were times that I was angry at you, it was just because I cared so much. I acted different when were alone so I could let you see the romantic side of me. I like you a lot HyunMi-ah. More than a dongsaeng." I said sincerely.

 

She was just staring at me, emotionless. I was about to repeat the last things I said when someone called her.

"HyunMi-ah! Bballi! Seongsaeng-nim is waiting!" someone said, it sounded like that punk Yoseob. I looked at the door, and it was him. I glared at him and he shrug once he saw me.

 

 

FLASHBACK~~~

 

"YA! Touch HyunMi like that again and I'll rip your arms out!" I threathened as soon as HyunMi and the others left.

"There's nothing wrong with it. We're just dancing" Yoseob explained.

As a little devil I am, I continued glaring and circling him.

"Yoseob, did you ever thought of kissing HyunMi while dancing to Trouble Maker?" I said in a seductive way. Not that I'm seducing him! Eeew! No! I'm straight bitches!

"A-andwaeyo!" he stuttered. Ooh~ someone's lying. >:)

My eyes widened with range, making him swallow hard

"You're lying" I accused

"Well... may be once" he said, his voice was shaking. I grabbed the hem of his shirt and lifted him up a little, making him stand on his toes

"Try kissing her.... You're bloody dead" I coldly said and let him go.

"Arasseo!?"

He nodded nervously and was catching his breath.

 

END OF FLASHBACK

 

"Arasseo" HyunMi answered back and stood up. She was already walking towards the door, leaving me alone.

"HyunMi-ah" I called. She paused but didn't look.

"We'll just talk later" she seriously said

The way she spoke made my heart beat faster. Was it right to confess to her now? And this was the worst confession ever! Fuck you Taemin! And they call you cool and romantic. Psssh! Lucifer, yeah right! Agh! I should call myself Lee Taemin Pabo after this! >.<

Taemin confessed! What will HyunMi feel? Does she feel the same way? How about Jinyoung? Will he have the courage to confess to her? Tsk tsk. ;D

 

Yallu~~~ Updated. This might be my last update for today, since my fathur's all grumpy and mad. Grrr! Fuuu~ Sorry for the bad terms. Kekek. Taemin is really different from the others. :D Hope you like it even though it's crappy and boring. :)
